Sparring

As they arrived at their destination, they could see that they were inside a large house.

"You teleported us, but why are we in my house instead of my courtyard?" Athena asked with a bit of confusion.

"Well, when I came here to your house before, I remembered the coordinates of your house just in case, but I have never been in your courtyard before so I just teleported us into your house," said Ashur as he cleared her doubts.

"Ah, so that's why we are inside my house."

"Anyways, let's head out and start!" said Athena before she brought Ashur to her courtyard.

As they arrived at the courtyard, Ashur noticed that it was a relatively wide open space with lots of space to move around in.

Ashur could see a small building off to the side of the courtyard to the side, and Athena was currently leading him to it.

"This is my Armoury," she said as they arrived.

Athena slowly opened its doors to reveal various rows and rows of various weapons ranging from tiny knives with the size of a few inches to gigantic swords and other huge weapons, some great swords even taller than Ashur himself with them being over two meters in height.

There was even a sword that was over three and a half meters in length that Ashur thought looked similar to the Dragon Slayer sword that Guts owned from Berserk but was even a bit bigger. Ashur could not even fathom how such a sword could be used.

"Let's start with sword sparring today," said Athena as she went over to a rack of swords and grabbed two and then tossed one of them to Ashur and he reached out and caught it.

After they got their swords, they then went out to the courtyard.

Ashur and Athena were now facing each other as they both held a sword while pointing at each other.

"Ready?" asked Athena.

Ashur hesitated for a moment before replying "Ready."

As soon as Ashur finished saying 'ready' Athena suddenly rushed in and did a sweep towards Ashur's neck.

Ashur, barely having any time to react before she attacked him, could only teleport away before she nearly decapitated him.

"Hey! Teleporting is cheating!" shouted Athena, seeing Ashur teleport away, she could only scream in protest.

"You nearly decapitated me!" Ashur screamed towards Athena as he held his neck

"Hun? Why don't you just block it then?" asked Athena with confusion.

"Block it? This is the first day I've held a sword!" screamed Ashur.

Athena looked a bit embarrassed and said "The first day? With all that confidence, I thought you had a least a bit of experience enough to block it."

"Well, I thought we were just going to do some simple sparring!" replied Ashur with a look of being wronged.

"Well, this is not going as planned, looks like I'll have to teach you a bit so you can at least put up a fight before you can become a proper sparring partner," said Athena with a bit of disappointment apparent in her voice.

"Hand me your sword," she said as she looked at Ashur and held out her hand towards him.

Ashur, complying, tossed over his sword towards Athena and she then caught it with one swift movement.

Athena then went over to her Armoury and returned with two new swords.

"These aren't sharpened, but it will still hurt like hell to get hit," she said as she walked over and gave one of them to Ashur, and then they got back into position.

"You go first and start attacking me," said Athena, before she readied herself to receive Ashur's attacks.

"Alright"

Ashur then took his sword and slashed forward.

"A good slash, but it opens your guard," said Athena as she suddenly stuck Ashur's side.

Ashur was suddenly knocked away by her sword and fell to the floor.

Laying on the floor, Ashur was holding his side in pain from Athena's strike to his side.

"Hey Ashur, have you ever trained in using a knife before?" Athena suddenly asked.

"Yeah, I used to use one before" replied Ashur, he wondered how she could even know that he trained in using a knife before.

"No wonder I thought your movements looked familiar," she said while looking at him.

Athena had a look of realization on her face, and said to him "Your posture is like someone who is used to using knives."

She then carefully started to inspect Ashur further and said "You also trained in some kind of martial art before that I'm not familiar with."

Meanwhile, Ashur could only think 'Did she learn that from just observing me for less than a minute!?'

"Anyways, let's repeat," she said as she pulled him up.

Ashur and Athena then repeated for over three hours and Athena could see improvement in real-time.

'Is he a genius?' she thought, while she sat down on the ground, she was currently drinking from a canteen Ashur handed to her from his storage space.

Meanwhile, Ashur was on the ground panting as he was battered and bruised.

The reason why Ashur never thought about asking someone to heal him during training or even reverse his own time by a bit, was that he thought that it would be counterproductive or delay his training by a great amount, he thought that the pain will help his training because it will help him remember to block the blow to not get hit.

It will also be ingrained in his muscle memory and also his memory.

Even if he wanted to reverse time on himself, it would be quite easy. It also takes much more divine power to control time compared to other godly powers.

Ashur can still reverse time easily if it's on the small scale such as reversing his own time, but if he wanted to reverse time on the large scale such as the world a few years, it would be quite taxing granted that nothing was working against him that is.

It would actually be much less taxing to compound both his space and time as they were both complementary to each other, to use them to time travel instead of reversing time.

Granted, he's not at that point yet, as Ashur has only scratched the surface of combining both of his divinities and is a bit far from using both of them to time travel.

Divinities don't just automatically let you learn everything about it. you have to learn and understand it.

Such as Soma and his wine brewing, he still has not learned everything about brewing even though he is a god, he is constantly striving for self-improvement.
