Goblin King

*Morpheus pov*

The damp air of the caves seemed to clamp onto my robes as the cart took us further and further downward past even the deepest and most well-protected vaults.

I could feel the numerous pairs of Goblin eyes watching me as I headed deeper and deeper toward their king.

Finally, the cart began to slow, and a giant door was in front of me. I got off the cart not minding the old goblin that led me here and immediately started to walk toward the wide double doors.

The two visible guards readied their spears, waiting, salivating for the order to take me down. As I approached them they froze and lowered their weapons.

The king is waiting for me after all.

I walked straight through the double doors and saw a wide bustling city of goblins. Now; when I say city I don't mean anything close to a human city. Goblins live surprisingly minimalistic as they hoard their money not liking to spend it at all.

"The King is waiting for you," A female goblin spoke roughly

I nodded opting to say nothing as she led me through the city toward the only building that looked like possessed wealth.

I could smell the beautiful scent of flames and metals in the air, it gave the whole nation a feeling of power and strength. how I wish I had a private goblin blacksmith.

"You may enter," The goblin said stopping at the front door

I walked in and the space seemed to expand, I looked to be in a giant Castle.

A goblin appeared from the shadows, "Follow me," he said dismissively

I nodded and followed along the dark corridors, if it were any other human down here their vision would be seriously impaired. Luckily, I don't have that trouble.

The goblin led me to a grand door, opening it the goblin motioned for me to enter, "My King is waiting for you,"

Walking through the doors I smiled, "Grommash Ironcrown you're still alive? I guess what they say about goblins is true they are harder to deal with than a dragon,"

"Morpheus, it saddens me deeply you are still alive, can't you just die already," Grommash replied with a loud bark of laughter

I laughed loudly while clasping his hand in a firm shake, "I worried I would have to deal with a new king, I never know how they feel about me,"

"Hatred, you are the one responsible for half of the security measures we implemented," Grommash laughed heartily

"I didn't realize Goblins were so unforgiving at that time, my hot-headed hundreds are over though my friend and I come asking for a renewal," I replied with a small smile

"A renewal? And what gives you the right, I don't see how my people will benefit from it," Grommash replied with a sinister smile

His true character coming out.

I sighed, "So, someone has already made contact with you, this alliance they built is really something," my tone was calm without worry

"It's as you said, they only wish to get rid of humans, not us," Grommash answered with a small shrug

I frowned, "You really think that? You lived through one of the wars you saw how they treated their allies who weren't 'special' like them," I sneered at him poking at a hole he's had a for years

Grommash sneered, "It is a better deal than what these wizards supply, at least we have free reign with the high races,"

High Races, is the name the creatures have them. They are called High Races because of the way magic seems to cling to them.

I frowned, he was right. Wizards' treatment toward Goblins and the other magical races as a whole is horrible. Sadly Britain is one of the worst places as well.

The bigotry and discrimination runs deep in Britain.

"Did you already accept the deal?" I asked with a slight smile

"Not yet, I will be discussing with the elders soon," He replied simply

"Good, that leaves me some time to convince you," I laughed while patting him on the shoulder

"Oh and how will you do that?" Grommash asked with a slight smirk spread across his face his sharp teeth glinting in the dimly lit room

"Let's be honest, Grommash you don't care how the wizards treat you. Matter of fact you used to like that they treated you like this, thinking they have control while you possess their gold. Their riches and in some cases their legacy," I replied with a smirk of my own

"You-"

I cut him off, "But now, after you gained that you want something more respect, perhaps fear? You could always wage another goblin war but what would that achieve it would just continue the cycle. You want to be able to sit in a place of power amongst the wizards, not just you but the other magical beings,"

I continued seamlessly, "You can achieve that with the demons, gods, and angels of course. You did in the past but what happened back then? You were still a child so you wouldn't remember but, your race was reduced to nothing but cannon fodder. Frontline soldiers, until your king decided to switch sides and show them you are not cannon fodder. And now they want you on their side, they know your might! So do the same with us the humans, show us your might slaughtering an enemy they will come to fear,"

"You don't wish for a renewal of neutrality, you wish for a renewal of battle contracts!" Grommash exclaimed in surprise

I smiled widely bearing my teeth, "I do, I wish for us to bathe in blood together once more my general,"

"Think about it, just wait on signing any contract. Watch what I do and I assure you, the legacy of Ironcrown will continue," I finished standing from my seat

"Ragnok, show our guest out," Grommash said to the seemingly empty room

Ragnok appeared from the shadows, "As your will,"

As we left the room I heard Grommash's voice once more, "I will take your words into deep consideration,"

I smiled softly, how I would love to battle with the goblins once more. I'm lucky Grommash is still alive because

I can feel the murderous air of the high-ranking goblins pointing in my direction.

"I always wondered why they told us to watch out for you Morpheus or shall I call you the mad wizard?" Ragnok said with a bloodthirsty look on his face

I smiled softly, "Morpheus is fine," I answered simply

"Well, Morpheus I think I understand now, you are someone who should never be allowed to enter our kingdom," Ragnok said

I laughed, "And why's that?"

"That tongue of yours, I really want to pull it from your mouth," he answered with a deadly tone

I hummed softly, "Well, please try someday I'm sure the world would rejoice,"

As I traversed the kingdom grounds heading toward the cart to take me back I made eye contact with a familiar goblin.

Filius, my friend I hope you will forget seeing me here.

Finally reaching the cart I got in and prepared to leave, "I hope you aren't living up to your other moniker right now," Ragnok suddenly said

"And what's that?" I asked in amusement

Ragnok brandished a dagger and stepped forward, his eyes blazing in passion and bloodlust, "Morpheus the great deceiver, if I learn you are trying to fool my king I will gut you,"
