Tortured Before The Apocalypse

Leonidas Aeolus had a normal life until his fifth birthday when his parents were revealed to be not who he thought they were. He was taken to a facility deep under the ocean. It was there that he was experimented on for eleven years along with other children that had been taken as test subjects. They all died along the way, leaving Leonidas as the only survivor of all of the experiments. He was allowed to leave and see what society was like as he had never been in the real world before. However, instead of relaxing afterwards and the world allowing him to stop his endless suffering, a zombie apocalypse broke out. Leonidas was aware that this would happen, although it was not the usual sort as, along with the zombified people evolving, there were also monsters emerging from dungeons. But this also led to the rise of the Wielders, people who harnessed skills and abilities that they awakened from fighting and killing zombies and taking their evolution materials. They ranged from weak to strong depending on the amount of zombies they had killed. They could only obtain one skill, but it could evolve with the materials gained from the mutated zombies and monsters to become even stronger. These materials also strengthened the body of the consumer along with evolving skills and were sought after by all. How will Leonidas survive in a world that he is completely unfamiliar with, and his past experiences as Patient 0 of a secret operation always in the back of his mind? A Hymn for Flowers

The world is changing in the face of progress, and even the gods are unable to stop the inevitable march of industrialization. The spires of temples have given way to the smokestacks of factories. Where once prayers sought to reach the heavens, now only smog rises to greet the dawn. The Age of Myths has passed, and in its place rises the Age of Man. There is no room for gods in this new world, no place for their miracles, and no halls for their worship. They are a dying breed, sad relics of a bygone era. Time marches forward without them, and there is nothing that can change this fact. Caeden is a survivor. He does what he can to look out for himself in a land where men fight gods with rifles and cannons on the frontier and witch-barons battle military expeditions for control of its rich resources. With only his wits and the strength of the desperate, he combs through the wreckage of battlefields, spiriting away scraps of the dead and pawning them off so he can get through another day. Luck doesn’t last forever, especially on the frontier, and Caeden finds himself getting more than he bargained for when he takes one risk too many while looting. Now bound to an unexpected charge, he finds himself unwillingly drawn into a series of events that could change the fate of the West, and the world, forever. The Obsessive Shou Moves On

In his previous life, Yun Qingci loved the Emperor more than life and death. When he was alive, he made soup and clothes for him, and in politics, he helped monitor his officials, even his family. He was solely dedicated to the emperor, and all his scheming strategies were used to gain favour. He never borrowed his power as the Lord Empress to seek employment for his relatives, and he did not show favoritism. He can be said to be strictly impartial and incorruptible, not even recognizing his own family. Outsiders were terrified of him, and relatives hated him, but Yun Qingci didn’t care. However, in the end, he was thrown into the cold palace by the only person he cared about and his whole family imprisoned. Finally, he committed su*cide on that snowy day, and fell down that gilded tower. Reincarnated, Yun Qingci retracted his claws, picked up the glass pieces of his heart, and conducted himself evasively in society. Acting as an escort to the Emperor for his relatives, he decided to become a proud Lord Empress that doesn’t need to be treasured or can have his status shaken. Unexpectedly, the emperor who abandoned him like a shoe, praised by countless courtiers for both his virtue and kindness, suddenly changed his temper. He became cold and harsh, paranoid and cruel. The servants who confronted Yun Qingci? He would beat them. The imperial concubines that provoked Yun Qingci? He’d punish them. A small person who framed Yun Qingci? He would kill him. When someone tries to approach Yun Qingci, he would become jealous to the extreme. Soon everyone knew that Empress Yun was the emperor’s inverse scale. He was not allowed to be hurt, touched, or even looked at. Yun Qingci, the fairy man, is speechless: So you like me not loving you, why didn’t you say that sooner? Gong: ……

the only bad part of this novel is the MC, I feel he is very shallow, but his disciples are very funny, there comes a part where the novel becomes repetitive and the plot armor weighs heavily, and sometimes the author tries to put a mystery into the novel and fails miserably. It is worth reading in general. ( sorry for the bad English )

Wonder if the MC will be similar to how the old master of the comic "Master of lightning knives". Interested in reading about a nice bond developing. There's other novels with the same premise on this platform, but they tend to go downhill. Comedy keep the story alive.

I hate these types of web novels. I love the reborn as an elder in a sect(please recommend some if you know) but I hate the chatterbox systems and the "you received the supreme emperor undying strongest cultivation method" it annoying and lazy writing. the author who wrote this should be embarrassed that There story has no character. 1/10 Also we did get an introduction to the realms just a "you haven't reached bla bla bla" and so we have no clue of the MC's Standing (at least in the first chapter which I won't be reading past).

Not my cup of tea personally because of the sexism in this story. Such as “Don’t waste your words like women, be a man” “Even a man most likely couldn’t do it, but she’s a delicate girl.” Roughly, im not gonna go back to the story and specifically go back and read through just to find those remarks but that’s roughly what it said.

Raw mtl : 我这么天才为何还要收徒弟 Auithor : 木易生火 Lv 5 Yo I am currently writing a Fan-fic about a Uchiha Itachi in the Naruto, if that interests you, please check it out. I strongly believe that if you read the first chapter, you will want to read the next chapter(s) too. I know, I’m shamelessly promoting myself using other novels, but a guys gotta get some exposure one way or another, am I right? Also, if you read this far and haven’t already checked out the novel you are now obligated to do so. Thanks to anyone who decides to check it out.

I'm going to give a really quick summary of my review. the author takes out what is arguably the only good point in the story for over half of it and expects people to continue to enjoy. you'll understand what I mean once you get to the higher world levels the first Arc as I would call it which is the lower world cultivation is pretty good. It's relatively well done not many mistakes the tad bit of sexism which is normal in these novels but there isn't much nationalism if any at all. my problem is when we get to the higher world and our main character gets separated from his disciples which is whatever. my problem though is how hard the author tries to force it so that the main character can't meet up with which is honestly the most interesting part of the story is group of disciples. anywhere from being way too far to have soul guidance work or just straight up ignoring the main characters summons even though they're his disciples. or the main character being too much of a coward to go help out his disciple who was being captured by someone way weaker than the main character. it'd be fine if it only went on for like 10 chapters or so but it's already been over 100 chapters of the author coming up with every excuse imaginable on why the main character can't see his disciples. and that would be fine if that wasn't what made the story interesting. the main characters pretty two-dimensional he doesn't have much development and it's reasonable it's explained why early on and his personality is pretty on set. you know what you're getting from the main character and he doesn't deviate from it. the disciples are pretty interesting they come up with a lot of the comedy in the story and they make it interesting to read. getting rid of them for over what is currently half of the story is ridiculous. by the way I'm up to chapter 400 basically so pretty close to the end and he still hasn't met up with his disciples. usually I would just keep reading some already here at the end but the chapters are a bit too long to make me want to finish reading this when there's over 100 plus chapters still and I see no way it can end so soon and I also see no reason why he can't meet up with his disciples. another one of my pet peeves with this novel is how much the author makes what is supposed to be a righteous sect evil. I understand the human heart isn't true most of the time. however when you're supposed to be a Buddha the only way you should be able to cultivate that type of Mantra would be if you have a heart of goodness a heart of gold to say, if you are truly able to be a good person at least that's usually how these stories go and how it looks like this story goes. so why is it that every person in the Buddhist sect is a horrendous person who likes to either torture people for fun or doesn't mind killing Innocents because they were in the way. I understand how these novels work most of the time but it's really drawing a blank here when the author tries so hard to make almost all of them evil except for a very few portion.

It's good. The writing is decent (but could be improved). The story is focused on romance (which is always welcomed). His disciples aren't all or majority females who are in love with him (which I noticed a lost of these kind of stories have a tendency to do). He's not overt with his abilities though that might not be for long considering this latest chapter. The cultivation is very convoluted and confusing. Why didn't they just go with the generic cultivation system. One annoying thing is how the writer keeps on shoving it in your face that the MC is a genius. "but of course Li blah blah is x100 time more talented so his cultivation and learning is way faster so he learnt this in half a day even though it would take them years" on repeat. Keep in mind they are talking about so called S and SS-class talents. I'm just waiting for the story to introduce SSSSS-class talents at this point. This talent system is going to become redundant at some point honestly.

This novel is a rare jade among the trash on this site. And it's actually quite funny! The MC is powerful and he's kinda having fun. I really hope that it gets picked

Another trash novel. Mc only complains and call others hackers. The system also sucks. The story is nothing new and plot is also copy and paste. Don't recommend reading.
