Chapter Four : Lena and the Retuz

(Lena's Prologue)

Icy blue eyes belonging to the wind blinked slowly at me. As if they were in some sort of slowed down motion. The embrace of shadows and multiple mix of rainbows and shadows came dancing across my cheeks, as the smooth jazz playing freely through the speakers brought me back to life. From the beautiful stranger, staring at me from right in front, the white cable bar sliding across his body just before the ride was set to begin. The line was long, but I'd been forced to come tonight, and to ride this ride, so I didn't have any choice to complain. A cool yet harmonizing sound came over me, flowing through my hair, as a gust of wind followed. The sweet smell of cotton candy pinned my nose, as my eyes turned to look over at the person who smelled so sweet of cotton candy, and fresh peppermint. Soft brown eyes stared at me, with so much determination, I was sure any moment there would be a hole burning in the middle of my chest. But I was wrong, I was fine. Unharmed even? Which was odd for me, since I always seemed to be injured somehow, when I worked young Retuz. Although most of them are at the ages of eighteen and sixteen, there are still some fairly young, that some times have trouble with their powers, then some of the others. Her pale little face softened once she saw me, now staring at her, as her little cheeks puffed up with a light shade of pink. It was clear she'd been embarrassed, from me noticing her now, and as much as she tried to have me look away, I just held my hands on my hips, and made a odd looking face, which made her instantly burst out laughing, and that envious smile to return to her fairly adorable face.

Her light raven locks did a good job at hiding parts of her face, while she laughed, so calmly, and gently, I took it upon myself to remove the few hairs. As I did, her face was smooth now, and her skin, felt like cream against my touch. After only a few seconds, did I recall the soft sounds of purring and pleasured, that came through me, as if I was an invisible building. The purring stopped after a couple, and a teenage boy came towards me. As did that innocent smile she'd made, once she laid eyes upon them. Instantly, her brown eyes that once had sparkle, vanished, and she bowed her head. I remembered her exact speech and how sad she sounded, at the sight of the three of them. ''Zara,'' shouted her mother. '' What're you doing?!'' her mother hissed, the angriest and most unpleasant sounding, could've been mistaken for a whistle or ringing noise. How my ears felt like they were about to shatter, and explode, every single time she spoke. I had guessed, her abilities consisted of some sort of sonic waves, only conquered and controlled through her speech. I don't think she noticed she was using her abilities, for after a couple of seconds, she would take a small breath, and her speech disappeared, so did the ringing. ''Mommyyyyyyy,'' whined Zara. ''She wasn't doing anything to me, she was only helping me practice! Gosh, that is her job.'' Zara confirmed, which only made her mothers face brighten in color. That color was red, which told me, she was very unhappy with her daughter, and unhappy with me. ''Zara,'' she repeated. ''This mortal has a reputation! A very horrible one at that! I told you, I didn't want you coming back here, not until the right person can train you, instead!'' her mother barked. Her very angry crimson eyes, looked from her daughter to me, which instantly made my heart rise, and my head to completely empty out all my thoughts. ''When does August return?!'' she hissed. ''She's the only one fit enough, to take care of Zara!''

''I'm sorry Ma'ma,'' I started. ''August has been summoned back to her land, by her father? I don't know when she's coming back...'' I finished.

''How unexpectable...'' I heard Zara's father hiss from behind his wife. Before I could get anything out, past my lips, Zara's mother already had grabbed onto her, eager to get her away from me as quickly as possible, and was now dragging her away from where I stood. As she did this, I couldn't help myself, but to roll my eyes.

How disgusting.....to think everyone wants August as their trainer, all because of a past decision I have a reptunition? Zara's mother, you have no idea. I gritted my teeth as tightly as I could, while chewing on my gums, trying to pretend I was chewing on pieces of light pink bubblegum, only when I felt another presence, other than the other trainers, did I stop myself, and turn around, slowly. My eyes filled with surprise and while I wanted to be concerned, as to why he was suddenly here, standing right in front of me, with those perfectly, rounded, scarlet eyes, I chose to not make a fool of myself, and tried to seem as relaxed as possible. Even though every time he showed up, I found myself in a nervous sweat, and random bubbling. Curse my mortal awkwardness. ''Hey Leana, how are you?'' his voice was soft and beautiful when he spoke my name, I almost felt myself falling again, this would be the second time, I caught myself falling down, in front of him!

Standing tall at 5' 7" with the most beautiful tan skin, I've ever seen. And the distinctive scar on his left leg, which he told me he'd gotten from all the times, he'd fooled around with his abilities, when he was fairly young. we always joked, how if only we'd known one another, I could've been his trainer!? Sometimes I laugh and smile, and sometimes he does.....although I start to wonder if maybe he's just laughing to spare me some humility? Either way, Scarlet Fey, is the most perfect, and hottest, Retuz, I've had the pleasure of meeting while while being a guest of Princess Cleo. I may only be a mortal from the human world, but every since, my past mistake, I've had many doors open up to me, ones I never thought could? Seeing as I am just a human, I really shouldn't be here right now, I should've even be here, offering up my help, to train all kinds of Retuz, seeing as I am just human, which means I have no capable abilities, or powers of my own.....unless being able to hold your breath for five minuets, while sitting perfectly still, at the bottom of the school, swimming pool, is considered a power? Then yeah, I got nothing. ''Leana, you in there?'' Scarlet waved both his hands up and down in front of me, which instantly startled me out of my thoughts. As I slowly began to remember what it was I was doing, my cheeks flushed with pink, and again, I felt the embarrassment, that came with a conversation with Scarlet Fey. I scratched the back of my neck, randomly, and pretended to clear away a cough, before answering. ''Oh yeah,'' I started. ''I'm fine, just got a little lost.....'' I said honestly. ''I'm sorry? Did you need something?''

His thick neck, and broad shoulders caught me off guard once again, as my eyes drew up and down his entire body. His slender torso, non - existent wasit, followed by his wide, bony hips, and fairly skinny, legs, covered up behind black, leather, pants. I tried to keep myself focused as best I could, but inside I felt like melting. I couldn't do this! I can never do this.....

My face suddenly dropped, and my bead bowed, following my eyes, to the sight of the white/red striped training floor, I could tell he noticed my change, because he stopped specking, and tried his best to follow me. Only when I felt his creamy hand slid under my chin, to bring my head back up, did my heart rise again, and I felt butterflies entering my stomach. ''Hey,'' he breathed. ''What's wrong?'' I pushed myself from the sudden sadness I felt, and reminded myself to smile. Reminding myself the past was simply the past, and that he was fine, and I was fine, my smile was bright, and most importantly believable, as I told him. ''Nothing, I'm fine, just tired.'' He believed me, as he walked with me to the food hall. Although, I wasn't supposed to be over there, since I had strict orders to report to Cleo's chambers, once the training for the week was over? But I knew she would be okay with it, since she was the one who told me to move on, and get over that horrible demon. Although, the scars were still there. Still fresh. Still reminders, of his human shattering words, that had be broken for months after.

''Do you want to hear the truth? If I didn't love you, no one would..''
