Chapter 22: We Need To Talk [2]

They say Love made a man blind- he was willing to do anything for the woman he was in love with if he was truly in love.

Izana was well on the path of becoming evil- but his Metamorphosis wouldn't be complete until he attained heaven-shattering strength or so cultivation novels quipped them and until Izana got the Lazy Lust system, he was inferior to Sirzechs… as much as he hated to admit it, Sirzechs could eliminate him within a Quarter of a second, by using his aura alone.

Despite them being Blood brothers, Izana had seen signs- signs that this man could kill and he wanted to avoid the situation at all cost by utilizing another innocent devil… he was far more important in this world than a devil that didn't appear in the Canon.

Upon his reincarnation, he hadn't thought about killing another person- he hadn't thought about being a murderer but he was reminded once again by the rules that guided this world… It was kill or be killed and Izana wanted to be the one doing the killing.

He was once a victim of the cycle, he had been the prey and had accepted his position blindly- but in reality, it was the predators getting the big bones out there- if one had enough power and influence, Women would come knocking… Such women like his Childhood friend who he couldn't even remember her name anymore, Moy?

But these kind of women were nothing but liabilities, they might be hot but they would always bring the successful man down in the end- so Izana prided himself in cultivating women that would not be liabilities but would make him even more successful.

These women would be part of his peerage or concubines that would birth his children but the fact was that, they were not women that would bring him down- they were women that would risk their all for him to rise up and they were better than regular women who were going to lead their men to downfall.

If he slipped up even a bit and Sirzechs learned of it- the least of his worries would be getting a proper Peerage… Even Venelana wouldn't be able to save him from the wrathfulness of the Maou and Izana was trying to avoid such a situation which was why he was going to frame an innocent devil as the Lover of Grayfia and then kill that one to ensure his safety.

It was cold logic- the strong survive and the weak die! That was the finalization of everything, ultimately the weak die off and only the people capable of calculable cold logic and actions would survive- the weaklings would be killed and Izana had been coldly calculating since the moment he was reborn in this world.

"Kill you?" Grayfia asked.

"Yes," Izana replied while not breaking eye contact away from her, "Despite being his blood brother- I stole the woman he admires with all of his heart, what excuse is there not to do away with me?"

Grayfia clenched her fists but Izana gave a crazy grin as he chugged down the contents of the cup instantly.

"But we can avert all of this- I've told Sirzechs that you sneak out of the mansion to meet your lover," Izana said.

Grayfia's eyes bulged open.

"Why would you tell him that?" Grayfia asked.

"To avert the problem, if this faked Lover were to die… Do you think I would be a suspect?" Izana asked.

"No," Grayfia said.

"It's a win-win too, because after this 'Lover' dies, you can still reject his proposal and I'll be in the clear from Sirzechs's suspicion," Izana said, "So would you do this for me? I won't force you Gray-"

"Without hesitation Master, I will help you without hesitation," Grayfia said with a smile.

"Okay, stand aside," Izana said and Grayfia stepped away from the door, "We have unexpected visitors,"

After saying that, Izana wrenched the door open with the power of his magic and a hand created with pulsating magical energy grabbed the people outside and forced them into the room, locking the door behind it.

Three people were released from the grip of the magic arm and Izana sighed, perhaps he was quite on the edge since there could be some servants sent by Sirzechs to keep watch on him… but they were just his curious maids.

Izana waved his hand at the door and a protective wall of magic sprouted into existence, shielding the door and all the windows- the barrier let off a translucent green light.

"Master, the barriers?" Seth asked and Izana waved her off.

"They're not regular magic barriers or even protective barriers, just barriers that block off sound," Izana said as he leaned back into the chair, "Now I'm sure you all heard of it, we're going to orchestrate a plan to fool the great Lucifer Maou himself and it will be intense,"

Izana found himself yet again on the Balcony, he found himself attracted to this place- it held some sort of allure that he couldn't wrap his fingers around.

[Perhaps you enjoy being in peace, left alone by yourself]

'Yeah, It's nice to socialize yourself with other people but sometimes- even the greatest people need some breathing space'

[You know that you only show this side of yourself to me- You can't be like this with any of the other girls]

'Mmm hmm, because they're women,' 

[And what am I?]

"A goddess," Izana muttered under his breath.

[Cute, is that why you don't treat me like the others?]

'Yes, I have issues in trusting women in general- but you're different, you're a goddess and not only that… You sacrificed about 3500 years of your time into bringing my soul to the Land Of Culture,' Izana thought, 'A regular woman can't do that for a guy they barely met,'

'And you can't use the excuse that you were interested in what I could do- My dear goddess, you were smitten by me the moment you first saw me,'

[Heh, you're not wrong… It seems like fate pushed us together, you're the most important person for me right now, I love you]

Izana was speechless, he couldn't say he felt the same… sure he admired her but not to the level of love.

[Your reaction is funny, You don't have to say it back- I know what you have been through and I don't expect you to love me back immediately but one day… You'll love me]
