Chapter 18

"but since you all lost your powers, who will I fight against?" I asked her.

She looked at me with a complex emotion before answering, "Well, when the gods left some of our ancestors were even more angry at them. They thought, that the gods were in the wrong for almost eradicating them. They tought things like 'First they don't want to give us power and then almost killed us all, while we only killed 2?!' and similair things."

She continued with, "Altough some of us tried to warn them not to go against the gods again, they didn't listen. Our gods used some kind of black stone that they called 'meteorite' to give us our powers. They took most of their meteorites with them when they left but our ancestors managed to hide one."

"They didn't really know how to use it, so a lot of things went wrong and didn't work at the start. After some time they made some small achievments but instead of figuring it out completetly, they just used it on Machakw without testing it first." She said.

"Machakw was the rebellion leader and he wanted to become as strong as the gods, to avenge our people. When they did the test on him, something went wrong and instead of becoming as strong as the gods, he became a black slimey thing." She explained.

"After he became that black slimey thing, he could melt anything that he touched. When he melted animals and otherr living things, he could absorb them, to become stronger. At first the tribesman only gave him some small animals to make him stronger but that wasn't enough for him." She said in a grim tone.

"He wanted more strenght, more power, more sacrifices but the tribesman without their powers didn't have much food themselves, so how could they give it to him? When Machakw noticed, that they weren't going to make him stronger, he went into the forest. He ate every living thing that he could find. Even multiple Targons a day weren't anything unusual for him." She said.

"However, even that wasn't enough for him. We even thought he would start eating us but thankfully he still has a bit of conscience inside of him. Altough only a a very small bit of conscience, since he started eating our corpses. He ate all of the people that died in the war and got very very powerful. At last, he even ate the corpses of the 2 gods and became even steonger then the gods." She said in a very serious and grim tone.

"When he was done eating all of them, he became so strong, that corspses wouldn't give him anymore strenght. So he wanted to eat living people but the only thing stopping him was his conscience. He didn't want to eat his old tribesman but he still wanted to grow stronger. So he came up with the holy gladiators system, to feed himself without killing too many tribesman." She said, while looking at me with a bit of pity.

"Every year we have to sacrifice the strongest warriors, by making them holy gladiators and letting them fight against Machakw. When they lose they will be eaten but if someone should ever win, he can choose any reward from the tribe, no matter what the reward is. Unfortunately for you, people who call themselves the strongest warrior also get made a holy gladiator." She said, mocking me slightly for my stupidity but also pitiying me.

"That's why I was so annoyed at you, you just threw your life away for calling yourself the strongest. Also the answer to your question is  that you can't take these weapons, since they were made by the gods but now are used by the holy gladiators to fight Machakw." She finished.

Ahh! I get it now. Wow, that clear up a lot of things. So from her saying that he melts things, I can probably assume that he is made of acid or something? So I will have to fight a black slime, that's made of acid and can absorb things to get stronger?

Ah, well I should still be able to defeat him. I mean come on, I have my system so how could I lose to some weird slime somewhere in the Savage Lands. HAHAHA! As if I'll lose against that. Well then, I'm hyped for the fight!

Okay maybe, just maybe I'm becoming a bit arrogant but I should still be able to easily defeat that slime. I mean how hard can it be? Even Abomination would easily kneel before me now!

After she explained everything to me, she left the room and told me, that I will fight him in 3 days. 3 Days?! Ugh...so long to wait. Ah, who cares, I'll just wait, it's not like I don't have time.

Thanos will only come in like a decade, so I don't really have to rush everything and can get experience some adventures. I mean I'm in the marvel world, why would I just rush everything? That would be stupid and in 10 years I'll be strong enough to fight Thanos anyway.

<3 days later>

{POV: Amayeta}

"Do you think he can finally free us of this curse?" I ask my grandfather, who is also the chieftain.

He looks around at the arena. It's currently full of people from old to young. Altough many have lost hope, every fight everyone from the tribe comes to the arena for the hope of someone finally defeating Machakw. Some of them look hopeful, some of them solemn, some of the young ones even excited at the fight and a lot of other emotions.

After having looked around the arena, he gives me a wry smile but doesn't say anything. I can already guess what he was trying to say but I don't want it to be true. What I didn't tell Kai is, that both of my parents were mighty warriors. Altough they knew the consequences of being strong, they still trained everyday, to become strong enough, to feed me.

When they got too strong, they were choosen as holy gladiators and were killed by Machakw. Now here is this outsider, from who knows where, who claims to be the strongest warrior and basically throws his life away. Just like my parents...

I wish they hadn't become strong...they shouldn't have become strong, just to feed me...Even against all hope, he can finally free us of Machakw...

 {POV: Kai Carter/Yellow Flash}

*Clack* *Clack* *Clack* *Clack* *Clack*

"Finally!" I say to myself as the gates to the arena open.

Stepping into the arena, with a golden gladiator armor, I see the a lot of people. All of them are on the sides cheering and looking down at the arena, waiting for the fight. Looking around, I see Amayeta near the tribe chieftain? Do they have some connection? I mean it was pretty obvious that Amayeta wasn't just a normal tribe girl, since she was somehow allowed to come into the holy gladiator armory but that's still a little suprising.

After a few seconds, the cheering slowly stopped, until it became completely quiet.

*Clack* *Clack* *Clack* *Clack* *Clack*

The gate opposite of mine slowly opened. The gate was atleast 3 times as big as mine and was in the shadows of the arena, so that you couldn't really see anything from inside. The gate opened really slowly but finally, after a whole minute, a giant figure stepped out.

It was multiple times the size of normal humans, didn't really have any distinguishable feature but was oddly humanoid. It looked like a giant, oddly humanoid black slime. Actually the slime looked more like black ink instead of slime. The only thing you could really see was it's mouth. No eyes, no ears, no nose, just a mouth. Everywhere it stepped on, the ground withered away. There was a constant sizzling sound, that came from the ground dissolving.

"So this is my newest sacrfice? HAHAHAH! I hope you're strong, so that you can feed me." It spoke with a very deep and difficult to understand voice, while a constant sizzle was hearable.

It also looked like it was grinning but that's really hard to say. The whole colosseum was silent, while looking at that monstrosity with anger. I came a bit closer towards it before speaking up to it, "So you're that Mochawk I keep hearing about? Doesn't look that impressive as I thought."

Most of the people in the colosseum looked at this wide eyed, while some of them already saw this fight as lost. "So it's just an arrogont idiot." one of the spectators said.

Machawk looked towards me, I think? I can't really tell. "HAHA! Didn't have one from your type for a long type, I thought that there weren't anymore arrogant idiot in this tribe but it looks like I was wrong!" Machawk said, in the same werid voice.

"Ah well, I am not really from this tribe, I'm actually just here to get a good fight out of this!" I said, mocking him.

"HAHA! Well you should enjoy it, since it will be your last fight!" Machawk said, while rushing towards me.

Just like that the fight began...
