Dubiety

As the days pass, Edward becomes increasingly concerned. He wants to talk to Alayna about her life, share her difficulties, and ensure that she is happy no matter what. Previously, Alayna used to drop off Justin at a daycare near the hospital where she worked. However, as Justin grew older and started taking his first steps, she realized he needed more attention and care. So, she made the decision to enroll him in the daycare located within the hospital where she worked.

Everyone is wary of Alayna, and they start talking about her, wondering why she conceals so many aspects of her life and who Justin's father is. Now that Edward also gets the time to meet Justin, he has become fond of playing with him.

Alayna is a reserved person who doesn't want anyone to know about her life or meet her son. So, whenever her colleagues want to talk about her, she changes the topic. Whenever Alayna would get tired from work, she'd call her friends, and they take Justin to their homes so she can rest. Max visits her and takes her out to parks and restaurants so that she can enjoy her life since she is always busy with her work.

Three years pass like this, and Alayna becomes a neurosurgeon. Whenever Alayna and Edward do any surgery together, it is always a success. She is mostly busy with surgeries; she gets very little time for Justin.

By the time Justin was 5 years old, he had started going to school. Alayna had to get him ready for school, drop him off, and then pick him up when his school would be over. She had to adjust her work schedule around his school hours since her job as a neurosurgeon is already very demanding.

She is a very protective mother and thinks that if she leaves him at home, something bad might happen, which would worry her and prevent her from working properly. That is why Alayna brings Justin to the hospital with her.

Everyone in the hospital knows about Justin and loves him due to his cheerful personality. They even assist him with his school projects. Alayna wants to deter him from talking to the hospital staff since they are strangers, but Justin is a very talkative, friendly kid, so she lets him be.

Alayna and Edward hang out after surgeries for tea breaks. Edward knows that she is not very open about her personal life, but for the past 3 years, he has been trying hard to get closer to her by playing with Justin and taking him out to play in the park. Whenever Edward sees that Alayna is looking exhausted from her work, he asks her to take some days off to rest, and he will take care of the patients so that she doesn't have to worry about them.

Edward switches his night duty with Alayna's whenever he feels like she needs to rest. The day-long surgeries are very exhausting, and Alayna is not very careful about her health. Edward wants to comfort her in any way he can, but when he tries to get close to her, she takes a step back.
