Review Detail of DogLickerGods in DxD: The Tale of Blood

This fanfic is good, but at the same time it's boring. Why? Because the author made the plot into an AU, I mean it's a type of AU that is still related to DxD, but you put the MC in another adventure like explaining how the MC got his peerage with a character from another anime, but at the same time it's not from that anime. This is where the plot starts to get boring. It would honestly be more enjoyable if the MC didn't waste time with hard AU plots and focused on the canon plot with a little extra AU. I like the MC's interaction with Rias, but from chapter 10 it starts to get boring as it tells the MC's adventures away from the underworld and Kuoh which is the focus of DxD. It became a drama of Rias waiting for the MC's return which was boring. It would be more fun if the MC focused on interacting with the heroines in DxD.

While I somewhat agree with him on his opinion, I don't think he is right. You did a good job, very original, but the problem is you "borrowed" the setting from dxd instead of building off of it. Your story should have a good balance of fully original adventures and interactions with the og plot, to little and people will complain its not original, that your just following the plot, too much and people will say that this isn't dxd and you lied to them. Try to balance these two things.

It's the start of the story. There are only 14 chapters. Don't you think it is too soon to mention these things?

Nah, the earlier the better. It's a future investment, y'know? If I tell you later nothings gonna change, you'll have a firm idea of what you want to write, but if I tell you this since the beginning, it'll stick with you, somewhere in the back of your mind.

No, sir. The story is already planned, and I am going to write it accordingly. I only start writing a story after planning it to its conclusion. 🙃 Frankly, it does not matter what someone wants since the Fanfics I write are not for others but for me. I just choose to share them publicly. So, it would be pointless to try to direct me on writing a story and how it should be. I don't write reader-interactive stories. And like every story should be, my stories are for those who love them for what they are, not for what they wanted or expected it to be. Anyways, there is a reason why I always go with an AU storyline. I like giving my favourite stories a spin of my own. Which is exactly what is happening here. And I have mentioned it in the synopsis. If someone is interested only in Canon, they should read Canon compliant Fanfictions with little originality, not an AU story. AU means that it won't necessarily be Canon Compliant, it could even be very different, so why complain about it? Or did someone just jump into the story without paying attention to the synopsis? (Not really directed at you) And yes, it is too soon to hold any opinions or reserve any judgements about the story. It could turn out to be better or worse than what you have in mind right now. 🤷🏻

Hi, I came here kind of randomly, you seem like someone organized and that's why I would like to ask how you organize your story?, the reason for the question is that I always find myself struggling with basic aspects of my plot, to fit things together.
