That's why it was a comment and not a review.
So it's one of those where the canon characters are just namesakes. I bet my last 30c Kurenai is going to be swooning over MC and Asuma is going to be face slapped into oblivion... An AU tag would have gone a long way towards managing expectations
Whoever cursed humanity with chakra unlocking, show yourself! I need to ask you WHY!!!
One day, someone will have to face justice for starting this 'Unlocking Chakra' trend
A solid first effort — the author shows skill with language and does a good job creating a readable story. However, there are some problems with the plot that make it hard to enjoy fully. First, a quick note about my own bias: I don’t enjoy stories where the main character is a “spiritual sugar daddy.” Even though the MC doesn’t go out of his way to groom the love interest, he’s still mentally an adult, which makes development of the relationship a bit uncomfortable. Another big issue is how the MC tries to stop the Uchiha massacre. Even though he knows what’s going to happen, he only focuses on getting strong enough to be on par with Itachi. He never tries to build on his relationships with Itachi or Fugaku to guide them toward better philosophical outlooks or improving the clans social ties with the village (this kind of “grooming” would have made sense). He also doesn’t get close enough to Shisui to convince him to use his power secretly, instead of putting his eye on a silver platter for Danzo. The MC could have done so much more with what he had while still improving his combat skills and earning respect in the clan. Towards the end, MC comes to some sort of extreme epiphany, but balancing these goals early would have made the story richer and more interesting.
This is very much a cultivation flavoured story, with terminology and world logic borrowing heavily from Chinese novel conventions. That said, it's not overwhelmingly so. The author managed to achieve a balance of sorts. If you are a completionist, your first and last warning is in the title. My exit was before that as I found the romance a bit cringe inducing
The broken sentences are killing me on TTS. My computer sounds like it has a speech impediment.
Oh wow, Sarutobi is a straight up villain who killed Tobirama by putting a hit out on him? Bold strategy! I wonder how that went down back in the day! If you pick this up, do yourself a favour and treat it as an AU.
Writing Quality: grammar is mostly ok. The errors aren't aggregious and overall, you can feel the writing is pre GPT. A bit refreshing in this day and age. Updating Stability: it's abandoned Story Development: very convenient for MC. Very little conflict for him, at least in the beginning. Character Design: MC is a bit of a prick. Lots of 'stolen valor' thanks to MC basically being a vain analogue of Minato's, Justus and all. World background: not much exploration of it besides descriptions of the immediate surroundings occasionally. It relies on knowledge of the series
