The chapters are well written and the author didn't shy away from writing social issues into their world building which made it more interesting and open to expanding the story in the future. The key personality points of each character are well presented, not only in the flow of conversation with other characters but also in the action. Even his parents that were killed in the first chapter, they have their own distinguish traits. I admit the vampire trope was utilized differently compared to what I've read. The trope was not merely just a prop but the main reason that brings forth the author's skill in world building. What I mean by this is that the existence of vampires in the novel opens a lot of possible scenarios that not only affects the main set of characters but how the world works in the novel because some novels I've read only remembers the setting when it's used to push characters further along the plot.

In the centre of the busy road, a young boy with dark hair that barely covered his light blue eyes, who sported all-black in both his hooded sweater and his joggers, stared up at the sky as it transitioned. A low sigh left his lips, his breath visible in the chilly atmosphere for winter was nearing. He glanced around at his surroundings, making a mental note of the people that would walk by, their attire, their attitude, how they walked, anything he could grab a hold of. As the lights were about to change, however, which would've forced him to relocate from where he stood, he picked up something in the corner of his line of vision. Matsuda on the other hand, reached for his gun almost immediately, tears in his eyes as he fired two bullets at Shouji. For a moment, in Matsuda's eyes at least, time seemed to be moving in slow motion as he saw the bullets leave the gun, gliding gracefully through the air, perfectly in line with their target, but in an instant, the person they were heading toward was gone.
