The most they could say is that God Empress runs Yggdrasil Interactive, but even then, she doesn't intend to hire people from outside. The reason she is meeting them 'physically' is due to her wanting to see these people in person, to get a gist of what they are like and look like. Not to mention that she is essentially getting them to advertise her game for her, they deserve some form of greeting from her. Reason she didn't use VR is due to the impersonal nature of it and the fact that she wouldn't be able to see their true forms, remember, she knows who Bruce Wayne actually works as now that she has basic information of the world; but she didn't know what Bruce Wayne properly was like in person.
