New Place

Abir saw Zoya in the apartment from the shade nearby, when she was looking outside the balcony. So she found a new place to live?

There were days when Zoya used to be standing on the window and Abir lovingly looked at her from the deck. What had he done in the past to deserve a girl like her?

How the tables turned? Now she has come to pack up her things and leave.

He had come to change the clothes before going clubbing. She would get upset to know that. Seems like he has to wait?

He doesn't want to face his ex-girlfriend. Maybe things could reverse to the way they were before but he was hesitant.

When Zoya descended to the ground floor, Abir was talking on his phone, "I will come soon. Don't go without me." She saw him, had flashbacks and walked away.

Zoya's new place was Michelle's apartment called "Golden Heights". Michelle's room was on the second floor, with two beds, her separate almirah but was small for the total clothes she had brought, and a kind landlady as compared to the previous owner. The room wasn't too big but adjustable. It had a balcony facing west. The sunlight would enter through the windows in the east.

She washed up after the busy day and slept right away.

Amy took Abir to a restaurant.

"Order whatever you want," Amy said, handing over the menu.

"I will eat whatever you order," Abir said, and returned the menu to her.

They had exchanged their phone numbers before coming to the restaurant. Amy had been looking up for an opportunity to ask Abir.

Their food arrived at ten. Abir kept his phone on the table, screen facing upwards. A waiter was staring at Amy from a distance. Nobody can escape her magic spell.

"I am curious about you, Abir."

"What are you curious about me?" He grabbed a sandwich and took a bite.

"Who is Zoya?"

Abir stopped chewing. "How did she know? Did I mention her in my sleep," Abir thought. He wanted to be honest. What good comes of hiding?

"She is my ex. We broke up the night I met you in the club."

Amy smirked but Abir didn't notice. He got back to chewing. "Because of me," she said with a pitiful voice.

"No," he denied.

Actually yes. Hadn't he come to the club, then Zoya wouldn't have suspected him of two-timing.

"Your hot coffee is getting cold. Drink it before that," said Abir, trying to distract her from the topic. He was not feeling good talking about her. He didn't want to talk of her.

"Was she better than me," Amy was stuck at that topic.

Abir looked down and answered, "yes. Don't get mad at me. It was because of the situation I was in. She was there for me when I was nothing, merely a human trash. She never hesitated to help me. But not now."

Abir acknowledged that she was there in his hard times. They both were good in the start. But things began to fall off slowly.

Amy was angered, hearing that reply but didn't show how she felt. However, he was being honest. It was all because of the circumstances he was in in the past that made them closer to each other. Amy remained quiet.

Amy began sipping the coffee.

"Hey, what happened yesterday," a message from Bob popped up.

"Did you get lucky," Xing's message was next with a smirking emoticon.

Abir typed "no" because he was unsure. He knew their next question if he typed "yes". He would never admit that he had lost the bet of proving his friends wrong.

Abir was in his room, just showered. Amy texted, "what are you upto?"

She is into him. She will never leave him alone.

"At home, just showered. Why?"

"Open the door."

He walked upto the door and opened. His hand was on his head, wiping his wet hair with a towel. Amy was standing right in front. How did she know his address? Abir hadn't told her yet.

She barged inside the room. Exploring and touching the materials in the room, the walls. "You must be wondering how I know this apartment or your residence?"

"There are some things you need to know about me which I cannot surface to the world. You were honest when I asked you. I'm impressed, hence, I decided to tell you." Abir looked confused.

Amy noticed that Abir was having a hard time getting what she was saying. She urged, "could you make me a coffee?"

He threw the wet towel on the bed. "You must like coffee very much. Any time of the day… just coffee," Abir said as he entered the kitchen.

"Yes, I like caffeine. It keeps me awake." Amy sat on the bed, waiting for her coffee.

"Sit with me," Amy told Abir as he came out holding two cups in his hand.

"I didn't expect you to come to my home."

Amy straight up put down her points. "What I wanted you to know about me is that the rumours are true. Live with me. I want you to stay in front of my eyes. I want to see your face every morning I wake up," she said, holding his hand."

Amy sounded like a dictator. She was looking at Abir as if he is some kind of an item. What happened to Amy he had breakfast with? Who was that Amy whom he met at the club two times?

"Amy," Abir voiced and looked into her eyes, not believing what he was hearing.

"I want you to be mine, only mine," and leaned forward to kiss Abir. He moved back, finding the words he just heard to be difficult to digest.

"We aren't even dating, technically. It was a fling whatever happened at the club."

"Come on, you like me. I know that."

"But… we are not even dating and you want me to move in with you? Already?"

She proposed, looking into his eyes, "I like you… rather I love you."

Abir turned stone upon hearing her bold confession.
