Chapter 29: Four Types

Long gray hair, wounded up face, and a bandage covering both of her eyes.

The image made Shaina scared, so scared that it made her stand up, make a few distance, and get her radio.

"V-Vlera... This girl... This isn't the girl Re was talking about..."

Vlera was at the other side of the door where Shaina and Jane was in when she heard the news from her own radio.

"She isn't? How?"

"Her looks, its so different..."

"Explain."

"She have a gray, long hair, wounded up face, and her eyes... it's covered by bandages..."

"Bandaged eyes? Are you sure she's not the little girl?"

From what Blu told them about the fight between her and the little girl; the little girl has a long violet hair, and was wearing a worn off robe. According to the description, it perfectly fits Jane, but not with the hair color.

"I know she matches the little girl we fought yesterday, but she has a different hair color..."

"I'll give you that, but her eyes, you said it's covered in bandage, what do you think is the reason for it?"

"I... I don't know... Perhaps it got stabbed? I don't really know."

"Then ask her."

It's almost as if Shaina had a neuron activation inside her head when she got the logic, she agreed and approached Jane once again who's on her 6th apple.

"Umm... If you don't mind... Can I ask you a few questions?"

Jane thinks for a second before she nods.

"Okay."

After her agreement, Shaina began to ask.

"Your eyes... How did it got those bandages around it?"

The girl gasped for a bit when she was asked about her eyes, she hesitates to answer but did it anyways in exchange for Shaina's kindness.

"I... I got blinded."

Through the radio, Vlera heard it all. The little girl and Jane have so many similarities, this was no doubt, they are the same person. From the time Jane said she was blinded, Vlera knew already that it was Blu's fault, there were no time to waste, she needs to kill this girl right now, it was when...

"Huh? It's locked?!"

Vlera tried to open the door but didn't managed to as the door was locked. Shaina heard the doorknob being opened but did nothing but to say to herself.

"(I'm so sorry, Vlera, I know you're desiring to kill her right now, but we still have to hear more things about her.)"

"Um... Miss...? Is someone opening the door?"

Due to fear, Jane asked the person infront of her in which was replied by her in a comforting tone.

"Oh, it was nothing, please continue to speak."

"Mm... Okay..."

Vlera got even more annoyed when she noticed that Shaina was ignoring her but calmed down immediately when she heard further of Jane's story.

"My... My eyes turned like this when the people next village took me in a lighthouse and blinded me there..."

The girl immediately held her face and began so sob, Shaina then gave a gesture using her arms to comfort her.

"Oh, I'm so sorry that I've made you remember it..."

Shaina got so guilty of her question and comforted her even more with her arms instead. Vlera felt nothing to it as she stood infront of the door.

"Lies."

Shaina continued to comfort the girl as she sobs until she calmed down a little.

"It's okay now, you're safe here, I promise."

Half an hour had passed when Shaina left the room and was surprised to see Vlera right at the door.

"Vlera, you're still here?"

"What else? How's the child?"

Vlera's hatred towards the girl could be heard from her words, thus, making Shaina feel uncomfortable.

"Umm... S-She's sleeping..."

Vlera gazed at her before she spoke.

"Shaina, I understand that you treat children very well, but this is one could decide not only the future of my team, but of your village as well."

"I know, but-"

Mid way in her sentence, Vlera cut it with a lean to Shaina's face.

"Shaina, do you trust her?"

Shaina moved her head back when Vlera leaned at her, she then nods after Vlera's question.

"Expected. I'll hold a meeting 10 minutes later, you better be there."

Shaina nods before Vlera walked past her to enter the room where her other members were in. Shaina felt a little scared at Vlera, but for Jane's sake, she's about to protect a suspicious child.

A suspicious child, who can potentially be the one who's planting hatred towards her best friend's friend.

"After confronting the kid, it was revealed that her identity is somehow far from who attacked Starlight, somehow, there could be chances that the kid is a spy..."

10 minutes later, when the expected meeting is meant to be held, Vlera stated the major informations Shaina got.

Marco, with Blu, were sitting besides Re and Starlight's bed who was still unconscious, while Vlera were besides a window and Shaina at the corner — still feeling uncomfortable.

"I don't know if someone had wondered about this, but how do you think we could reveal this kid's true identity?

For that, I have a plan."

After holding a second before she stated that she have a plan, Vlera received no response in which gave her a space to explain herself.

"We will invade the cave once again and find the girl who attacked Starlight."

"Oh? And leave the girls here? Right besides the room with that so called, "Spy?""

Vlera glanced at Marco after he raised his hand and asked her about her plan.

"Marco, this is why "waiting" was invented... It's because you and Blu will be watching both Starlight, Re, and the girl next room while me and Shaina will be the one who's gonna invade the cave."

Marco felt a little embarrassed of Vlera's words that made him go looking away with a red in his face. Shaina also wanted to ask Vlera a question, but because of her recent attitude towards Marco, she felt even more embarrassed about it and began to fidget her fingers.

"As I said, me and Shaina will be invading the cave once again while Marco and Blu will be watching over the unconscious girls and the girl next door. This is to find out whether the kid is a spy or not. We could find her in the cave, in which means, the the kid and the kid at the cave is separate person, or in the worst case scenario, the girl next door is also the one that attacked Starlight and Re..."

After finishing her speech, Vlera walked towards Marco and spoke in a low tone.

"You know how I began to highly trust you ever since after that training with the Old Man."

Vlera even tapped Marco's chest with the back of her hand before she turned away and walked at the window once again.

"Now, if we don't have any more questions, Shaina, you may set up the time for the invasion."

Shaina flinched when she heard her name, she knew Vlera was asking for her decision, but she raised her hand and spoke about an unrelated topic.

"Umm... I really think we should focus more in this cave..."

"Huh? What do you mean?" Vlera said.

"You see... there's... certain types of monsters in the cave... I know you get even a little of what I mean after that... attack..."

Shaina left Vlera lacking of words, she thinks for a matter of seconds before she smiled and said.

"Good thing you told us! Shaina, why didn't you told us earlier! Come on now! Explain it to us!"

Vlera's sudden smile made Shaina regain her confidence, she then stands up after she saw Vlera sit down.

"You see... There's four types of monsters in this cave...

... And I hope you understands this."
