He found himself in a world of white, standing on top of a strange... reflective liquid, he could walk, talk, and jump.
*Splish, Splash*
As he walked through the near endless void, the strange liquid had made echoing splash noises, adding to the foreign ambience this place exuded.
After what seemed like hours of walking, he had ran into what seemed to be a glowing, white ball.
It spoke.
"Oh? A mere mortal's soul has wandered into my kingdom?" the glowing sphere said, its voice resounding throughout the empty plane.
He reacted to the words of this sphere, with confusion.
'How is it speaking, no, where am I exactly? His kingdom?' he thought.
"Yes mortal, my kingdom, and before you ask, yes, I can read your mind. I'm quite curious as to how you came here... your name?"
Name... he did not know his name, or rather, he did not know anything except the very language he spoke.
"I... I don't remember..." he said.
"It's little trouble, mortal, allow me to enlighten you."
The sphere of energy floated towards him, and extended what seems to be a tentacle towards his head.
"I do not know whether this will hurt or not, but you will survive." it said.
Suddenly, as if reacting to the very words the orb spoke, an immense pain struck him.
Similar to what could be described pure, utter torture, that is how it felt, as if someone stuck a metal bar inside if the hottest of flames and pushed it down his throat.
The only way he could react... was screams, these screams echoed throughout the void for what seemed like an eternity.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
The orb, was however, nonchalant, afterall he was only helping.
As the seering, strong pain resounded through his body, information flooded his mind in chunks at a time, images, voices... no, memories.
"Ah, oops... I spaced out and almost gave you memories of all your past lives as well..." the sphere-like entity said, removing the tentacle from the man's head.
After minutes of letting the man gasp for air, the sphere had seemed impatient, and finally asked:
"So mortal, what is your name?"
"I... Isaac Fortis."
"A noble name for a mortal, I shall allow you exactly one decade to recover from the pain... of remembrance." the orb said, returning to its original position.
"A decade...?"
...
Throughout the years, Isaac has taken time to sort through all of his memories, and ask the orb questions, today was, finally, the day that marked a decade of waiting.
Apparently, this realm acts like the opposite of the "Hyperbolic Timechamber" from a certain anime Isaac watched, so in reality, it had only be 10 days, not years.
"So, ROB, today marks a decade, what will happen to me?" Isaac asked.
ROB was the name the orb had given Isaac, he didn't know what it meant, but he wasn't one to judge.
"Well, when you came here I took my attention off of the mortal world for about 2 months... which resulted in a 200% increase in natural disasters that killed millions... your karma level has hit the negatives because of this." ROB said.
"Wha- am I going to hell?! Isn't that your fault?"
"Karma is measured via involvement and is a system not even I can control... I am sorry."
"Crap baskets... is there any way I can recover my karma?!" Isaac asked, with urgency.
Of course, the only thing going through ROB's mind was:
'Heh... he fell for it!'
"There is but one way... you must save a separate world, and become its hero..." ROB said, somewhat solemnly.
"Save a world... as in, I can isekai?!"
"Yes, mortal. You see, all worlds of fiction are out of my jurisdiction, the only people that can influence those worlds are the creators; or people from the realm of creator. You are from said realm, a world where the entertainment industry has boomed!"
"Hehe... I think I know where this is going..." Isaac mumbled.
"Yes mortal, you may go to any fictional world of your choice, but you must defend it!"...
'Mortal teens are so gullible'..
Yes, Isaac was, in fact a teenager, and in ROB's realm, the mind nor the body mature, so he hadn't changed at all during his time there.
"I see... but if I am to select a world, will I get benefits?"
"That of course, depends on the world you choose, mortal."
"What do you mean, ROB?"
"For example, in the world of Dragon Ball, created by mortal mangaka Kishimoto, there are heaven defying powers, powers that even I would struggle to resist. The most influence I could gather in such a powerful realm is as weak as giving you an abundant amount of talent."
"Oh! I get it... in that case I should choose a world where I can get plenty of benefits..."
"It seems you understand, mortal Isaac."
"Alright, alright, lemme think ROB! Sheesh..."
At this remark, one could see the tiniest of tick marks appearing on ROB's round body.
...
"Okay... I think I got it ROB!"
"So, mortal, which world would you like to reincarnate into?"
"The YuGiOh GX world! 15 years before the canon!"
"Hoh?"
This had certainly surprised ROB, which, well, never happens. Yu-Gi-Oh had never been chosen by previous reincarnates... in fact, not even considered. Even that lame movie series... hairy pooper...? had seen more love.
"Yep! I only want three benefits, which you should be able to pull off!" Isaac said, enthusiastically.
"Yes... in the YuGiOh GX world I can certainly do almost anything, as long as the gods and orichalcos aren't involved that is..."
"Alright...
First off, I want to have a Red-Eyes Black Dragon deck before I attend duel academy, I don't mind how it is given to me of course, and I want to be able to customize the deck myself, while I am here.
Second, I want to keep my memories, you never said I'd get that benefit, I am not taking any chances.
Third, make my favorite card, "Decoy Dragon," my duel spirit, and have me find him randomly within 5 years after my birth!"
Isaac didn't want anything too crazy, and he planned on making his Red-Eyes deck able to compete on GX's level, meaning it'd be nerfed. What's the fun in an easy life?
"That is all, very possible. However, I will give you one more benefit. During your time at the duel academy, you will get a new Red-Eyes card after every major win. Otherwise you will become weaker than everyone by the end of it all..."
'I can't have my champion lose now can I?'
"Hehe, deal! So when do I start?"
"Now, of course."
"Wha-?"
The world went black.
