Plan

As everyone was rushing around trying to deal with the chaos the pirates were causing, no one noticed a dark figure moving quickly and silently through the crowds. It eventually made its way to the Governours manor. the figure stopped when it got to the high wall of gold and marbles that surrounded the property.

"Pathetic," a low voice said and within seconds the figure had vanished from the ground and appeared on the top of the wall.

Taking a quick glance around, the figure then proceeded to jump off of the wall once again, rushing towards the main manor. looking up, there was a window on the third floor left open.

"couldn't find one a little closer to the ground?" The voice grumbled. This time the figure reached into their clothes and pulled out a rope with a hook on the end. With a quick throw, it managed to reach the very window and hook onto the ledge. The figure then quickly scaled the building through the window, retrieved their rope and continued on throughout the manor.

Suddenly there was a loud bang. The sound came from the direction of town and it was followed by a slight shaking which caused some of the various art pieces lining the walls to quiver, threatening to fall.

"What the hell are those idiots doing"

--------------------------------------------------------

Hours earlier a bird landed on a ship anchored not far from shore.

As one man read the note the bird carried and smiled another was walking up to his position.

"Your smiling, must mean bad news for someone"

"News just came from Theresa, apparently the almighty Governor has just received a new addition to his collection."

"Is that why we have been docked here for so long? What's the big deal? The greedy son of a bitch gets shipments every other week and you have never cared before? why is this one any different?"

"Because this time the ship only brought back one thing. With a man like Worik, do you think any crew would dare to bring back so little, unless they are sure it is something he would be pleased with, Let alone the dog of a captain he has working for him. Burgus knows perfectly well who his master is, and the one thing he values more than money is his worthless little life. After all, birds of a feather flock together"

"Alright, So what's the plan?"

"Well after all, what I said before is only a theory, maybe the almighty Governor just doesn't have room to hold all of his precious treasure anymore so he can only take in a little at a time. It must be difficult for him who has accumulated so much. It is only right for us to assist him and take a few things off his hands. Go wake up the rest of the crew I want to go over the plan, if all goes well we should be finished with this job before the day is over."

"Aye captain"

The Captain nodded and then looked down at the note once again, his lips curving into a smile that did not reach his eyes.

Captain Howell Sabre, the name would be enough to cause most people to shiver. He was the captain of The Midnight Assassin. Despite the ships name, the crew were not known for their body count for they would often leave plenty of survivors after an attack. The ship was named for its swifts movements and the precision which the crew struck, like a killer in the night. Their success was largely due to captain Sabre who became known for his strength and ability to strategize.

Few people have actually seen Captain Sabre for he will often leave the work to his crew. Some may say that he is a coward for letting his men face all the danger but they would be wrong. He does not intervene because he knows they can handle themselves and he is simply not needed. He will only take part when there is a truly strong opponent. On one hand he wants to protect his crew but on the other he is always looking for worthy opponents who can offer him a challenge.

Captain Sabre is a tall man of 198cm. He has long black hair, a colour typical for much of the human population, which he will mainly pull back into a simple ponytail. His body is perfectly proportioned with the slightly darker skin from his time on a ship and muscles of a man who trains daily. His face looks like it was carved from stone, a trait furthered by his rarely changing expression.

His crew have often called him "old stone face" or "stone face Sabre" behind his back. Possibly his most enchanting feature is his eyes. They are a bright ember that could light a fire in anyone who sees them, his crew being the exception. they are to familiar with his personality to be foolish enough to be sucked into his gaze. He is proficient in many weapons but prefers to use twin blades that he keeps fastened to his hips.

The man with whom Captain Sabre was talking is his first mate Bishop Sampson. Though shorter in comparison with his captain Bishop was still tall at 180cm. He had bright red hair and green eyes. He was slim and had a soft face which makes him easily mistakable for a woman. Though it pisses him off when moronic men try to hit on him, he does put his face to good use. His primary role on the ship, apart from being second in command was as a spy and information gatherer.

He has built up an extensive network of contacts which allows him to know what is happening in most nations despite being on a ship. Theresa, who the captain mentioned before is one such contact. He had met her serving in a brothel a few years back and convinced her to work for him. It had been under the orders of his captain that he had her infiltrate into Governor Woriks ranks. It was not difficult, she had elven ancestry making her exceptionally beautiful. She became one of Woriks "personal" helpers. But as she was being well looked after she didn't particularly mind. Her only danger was Woriks mood swings but her time at the brothel has made her good at pleasing men, Worik was no exception.

After his captains words Bishop's turned to go wake up the rest of the crew. He was well aware that his Captain hated men like Worik. Though they were pirates and were not unfamiliar with the darker parts of society, even they found Worik and his underlings methods to be unsightly. Despite his captains claims of relieving Worik of some of his treasures, Bishop knew that all he was after was whatever was brought off of that ship today, otherwise they could have tried to attack his manor sooner, there have been plenty of occasions.

Though not entirely sure of why his captain wanted whatever it was, he assumed it was because it would somehow cause the most damage to Worik. He had known the Captain the longest of anyone on the crew and new that that everything he did had a reason, he also knew that Howell Sabre was not someone to underestimate, he would not always kill his enemies, but this had nothing to do with kindness or humanity, he would find the thing that would hurt that person most and make them live with the consequences of crossing him. When Bishop's asked once if Howell was worried about people coming back for revenge his response was "let them try"

Bishop thought back to the smile he had seen earlier and shivered

"Yup, bad news indeed."
