A Close Stranger

“Your tests are good, they can discharge you after three days,” Noah reported me after attending a meeting with doctors for almost half an hour.

“I’m tired, we’ll talk later, and you should go and rest too,” I said, laying myself down on the bed.

These three days were relieving, no calls, no media, no problems.

“Coming,” I said as someone rang the bell of my house.

“Dad,” I mumbled as his photo opened in a door's video phone.

“Dad, why are you here?” I asked, opening the door of my house.

He entered the house with a red face.

“What’s this… you did your stunts yourself, are you in your mind, If something had happened to you..,” his voice thundered as he continued.

“Do you’ve any idea who is going to handle the company, if you got into a mess,” he asked, frowning.

"I think you should ask, if I'm okay?.....Before this," I said with a smirk.

"Eh!....,"

"I'm giving you everything you've every luxury in your life, it's not my fault that you put your life on stake for a mere stunt, and now you want me to pamper also, like you're a child," he said.

I didn't say anything for a minute in the reply of his sentence.

“We’re hosting the silver jubilee of the foundation, be on time tomorrow,” he said leaving.

“But dad…,”

“Enough of your excuses….. I also get tired…,” he replied.

“I’ll be there, don’t worry….,” I said.

“I’ll be at the bar,” I said, as I approached mom, to make her believe that I attended the party.

“You come here without a partner again?” mom asked with pitied eyes shifting my tie.

“You’re looking handsome in a suit,” Ms. Eleanor, gives a flattery compliment to me, as she was accompanying mom in the party.

“So do you…." I replied, with a smile.

“Mom…, I’m busy, I’ll talk to you later,” I said, moving to the other end of the party hall.

“Don’t tell me you’re here again, without a partner,” Ivy said, approaching me.

“Luckily, I don’t have to handle a drunk noble lady today,” I replied, and we both burst in a giggle.

The party was going casually, until I saw her, "A close stranger of mine."
