Chapter 12
“ he said what!” I say hitting her with a pillow.
“ I know right, he's just agh!” Zahreefah says
“ I told you we should’ve killed him,” Daneen retorts.
I stick my tongue at her grabbing the ice cream bowl, “ just so you know, even if he was the last man on earth…I still would never ever get back with him.”
“ you have to promise us!”
We stuck our hands out for our promise shake, “ by the way isn’t it bad to like not sleep at home as a married woman or whatever, ” I say
“ well, Intikaab doesn’t mind. Anyways don’t change the topic, let’s hear about your blind dates.”
I wipe the sweat off my forehead shoving the ice cream spoon in Dannens face for bursting into laughter.
“ All you need to know is that none of them went well.”
“ Tell her, tell her how the last guy ran away from you.”
“ whatever,”
After smacking Daneen a few times we fell asleep on each other, something we use to do since our childhood.
The next day I filled in the last formalities, rushing out to find my car being towed away, after allegedly being sent to the police station for being violent I was kept in a holding cell till someone would pick up their phones.
The so-called teacher from our last blind date was at the station, after watching him walk up to me in the cell. He opened up the gate, dressed in uniform.
“ A teacher you say,"
He shrugs his shoulders leading me outside to have lunch, “ your records still clean, so don’t worry about it.”
I laugh stealing his soda, “ take it as a paying me back mechanism for lying to me, and running away.”
“ I didn’t run away, you didn’t want to give me your number remember.”
“what do you mean?”
“ I asked you if you would feel comfortable passing your number to a stranger, then you said depends…”
“you call that asking.”
“always worked in the past, ” he said leaving.
After trying to call out to him I found his number on my phone already, I couldn’t help but smile. No, im not falling for him, he's just clumsy dropping his number in my phone I mean it’s only fair if I make it even.
