Matthew stood still and didn't dare to move, for fear of offending Daisy.
Daisy was tired of crying. She sniffed and looked up, and the tip of her nose turned red. "Prof. Richard, I'm sorry to embarrass you."
Matthew shook his head. "I didn't see anything..."
He looked around and changed the subject. "The lamps here are very beautiful. My date didn't show up... Why don't you walk with me?"
