Why...

I stare excitedly out the window at the passing traffic, my inner child getting

the better of my nerves for the next blissful half hour to the concert hall where

the competitions being held, Fin and Eve chat in the background; i envy how

he can just talk to girls like that even ones that aren't his friends or that he's

never met before.

The car pulls up in one of the spots outside, we're early so I can sign in and get

my number, mum turns off the engine, opens the car door and gets out

shutting the door with enough force to wake me from my daydream.

We wander in and my heart starts pumping, i look over at my friends and they

say "good luck" almost at the same time but not quite so we all start laughing "

Come here" Fin says bringing me in for a hug he pats me on the back and says

"You can do this i know you can, allots resting on those scores so don't let me

down, yea?", "yea." i mutter knowing that Eve was gonna ask what "break it up

you to i want my hug too" Evie giggles, as me and fin pull apart she pulls me in

to a tight embrace. Taken completely by surprise i just stand there for a few

seconds then i put my arms around her and we stay there for a moment or two

then she asks it "what is it that Finn was talking about resting on you scores?"

Damn, why did she have to ruin the moment… " uhhh, nothing

important, just a silly bet!" a blert out, "i have to go sign in see you guys later.'' I

say trying to save myself from any more questions, I hurry in the other

direction to the main desk where there's a queue of at least 20 other students

waiting to sign in and get given a practice room number and time slot.
