I stared at him as tears started pooling in my eyes at the pain I heard in his voice. Unable to bear it, I left Jack's side to crawl over onto Jordan’s lap wanting to be close to him. I needed him to know that he did not have to carry this burden by himself anymore. His arms immediately wrapped around me, holding me with the same tight grip that he had used on my hand earlier. I snuggled closer wishing that I could disappear inside him to erase all the pain and heartache that was roiling around.
“Please just talk to me,” I begged him.
“Lizzie-” he began.
I had pulled back so fast I almost fell of Jordan’s lap, yet it got both of their attention.
“No, Jordan. You and Jack ganged up on me last night to force me to tell you something I'd rather have kept hidden for a long time and so now it's your turn. Spill it," I demanded, poking him in the chest to emphasize the seriousness of my point.
