It wasn't long before Shen Anlingzi came out again, carrying a cup of coffee which she placed before Mu Ri. It was a latte, sweetened, and she looked at him with a flattering smile.
Mu Ri picked it up and took a sip—it wasn't bad. However, he didn't say thank you. This Shen Anlingzi was an actress, introduced to him by Yu Jingrong. Clearly, she had her eye on some role and was attempting to curry favor in hopes he could land her the part.
When Shen Anlingzi went back into the kitchen, Mu Ri turned to Li Chengyun and said, "You're a businessman too. You know as well as I that businessmen don't make deals that aren't profitable."
Li Chengyun calmly retorted, "My responsibility was only to invite you to dinner. As for anything else, it has nothing to do with me."
Essentially, Li Chengyun was telling Mu Ri not to worry about his opinions. He wouldn't interfere, do whatever you want. He wouldn't impose a favor on him.
