Chapter 19 - Lunch

It was time for lunch, Alicia's colleague illyas came to her office and knocked on her door. " Come in " Alicia said as she continued working on the files on her table. Then illyas walked in, he came to her and sat down on the chair opposite her. 

" Alicia you have to stop working for now and you haven't come to the cafeteria to eat since you started working here ", illyas said smiling at her. " You know, l need to concentrate on this case since it is actually my first and it is really stressing me out ", Alicia said as she continued working. She said this thinking the young hyper man before her would leave her alone but that wasn't the case because illyas went ahead closed the files she was working on and dragged her out of her office. Then he came out from the office with her heading to the cafeteria for lunch after much argument.

Once they got to the cafeteria all eyes were on them as everyone was surprised that Alicia came out for lunch, rumours were already spreading in the building that she was feeling proud and that's why she doesn't want to come down for lunch but rather have it in her office. When people started talking and gossiping,  Alicia felt uncomfortable but didn't let it bother her, then she said someone say " do you know that her office is very well furnished and it also have a private room inside it,  none of us have gotten such special treatment excluding some higher ups for so many years working here ". Then one brunette named Melanin said to the girl that just finish talking " and now she is clinging onto illyas, my crush, I really hope she doesn't take him away from me else she would regret working here", a short lady with brown hair seconded  " I think she is just a cheap whore, else how could she get such privileges, she obviously slept her way to get this job" , " but Ria the boss doesn't like women and I suspect he is gay " Melanin said while flipping her hair, " I know but whatever the case may be she is still a whore to me and will forever be to me ". Alicia was surprised by what she heard " Is the almighty Jason Alfredo gay, oh my goodness and I can't believe I had such lewd thoughts about him before ", illyas did not hear what those ladies said and the way they kept throwing insults and accusations at her because he went to get them food while she waited for him. She decided to go to him as she stood up and strode to the counter, suddenly she was pushed from behind but as she was about to reach the floor someone held her strongly.  She felt strong muscular arms holding her tightly, she inhaled his scent and she felt he smelt like earth after rain,  " This scent is really intoxicating or is it his cologne, but wait a minute who caught me I hope it isn't the boss ". When she remembered the words of Melanin calling him gay, she quickly released herself from his arms and straighten her clothes. She felt chills coming from the man before and she thought it was because he didn't like touching ladies and he touched her. She met his eyes and said " thank you sir ", she could swear she saw emotions in his deep seated blue eyes but she concluded that she must be hallucinating because when she looked at him again what she saw was his usual poker face. He looked at everyone there with his eyes blazing with rage but at same time so coldly until his eyes fell one the three ladies standing behind Alicia. When they noticed his deadly gaze was on them they gulped simultaneously, they were expecting him to sack them or something worse because they knew he saw what they did but to their greatest advantage something unexpected. 

He didn't even spare Alicia a glance after she thanked him and went straight to the private elevator that was exclusive for him and a few people of his choice leading to his office. " Why is he always leaving me hanging " Alicia mused as she crumpled her face.  She was about to go to her office when she turned around to face the girls that dared to push her. She turned to them putting on a sly smirk, " Hello bitches ", she said and the ladies were astonished, they didn't know that this woman could be so fierce, they thought she was a meek damsel in distress that they can easily bully but she turned out to be so crude. Alicia continued " the next time you attempt this nonsense again, I will make sure to beat the shit out of you girls " after saying that she strode to her office leaving illyas who was also surprised at her change in behaviour. 

At first he was about to run to save her a while ago when she was about to fall but when Mr Jason held her anger gushed into him and he was still angry even after everything was settled but seeing the way she spoke to these ladies, he knew she was a really interesting girl. He continued to smile sheepishly while rubbing his light brown hair, then he said to himself " Oh Alicia, I think I am falling harder for you the more I try to figure you out ".
