Chapter 29 So, You Knew All Along?

Dontae was in a corner of the dinning room balled up in fetal position, laying on the floor when his family came back home. He thought about his parents calling his now known children their grandbabies. ' How come these two people who birthed me, raised me and claim they love me, didn't bother to tell me that I was a father?' He thought. Then he remembered they kept throwing subtle hints at him, but his mind didn't budge to think about those kids. He felt so uncomfortable that day, he was trying to get away as quickly as he could, but not without chastising his mother about being taken advantage of and being careful of being used. He would ruin that person's life if they ever did that to his kind hearted mother.

He started to cry when they came into the house. They heard crying coming from the dinning room, so they went and turned on the lights and found him lying on the floor. Jalene walked over to her father and said " Da-dy cwy? Da-dy no cwy. Da-dy want hug, Jadene high Da-dy!" She kissed his cheek and gave him a hug. He started to cry even more as he realized his seed was comforting him and she was sweet. He hugged her back. Jaiden and Jason joined inland gave him a hug and he embraced all three of his precious babies.

His parents and brother watched from the door of the dinning room. Mrs. Kim cried into her husband's arms and Dominic rubbed her back.

An hour later after putting the kids to bed for a nap Dontae and his parents sat at the dinning room table after he and Dominic put things back in place. He wanted to know why they didn't tell him about he being a father.

Mr. and Mrs. Kim sat next to each other and Mr. Kim had his left arm around Mrs. Kim's shoulder. They looked like sad puppies who angered and disappointed their master. Mrs. Kim began to talk " Well, the day we found out she was pregnant was the day of the Employee and Shareholders ball." She said softly holding her head down while playing with her fingers over the table.

" We drove her home as you know. When she got to the door she fainted." Mr. Kim said while rubbing his wife's shoulder.

" I remember in the car she kept saying that she couldn't breathe and that her heart hurt. I just thought she was saying that figuratively because of what happened between the two of you." Mrs. Kim said as she looked at Dontae with apologetic eyes.

" When we got to the hospital, they said that she had a minor heart attack and that she shouldn't stress out about anything." Dontae began to tear up and cry. He put his free hand around his mouth the prevent the sounds of wailing to come out. " They also told us that she was two months pregnant with triplets." Mr. Kim continued to tell his son. He got out of his chair and went over to console him.

" When she woke up, we all told her what happened and that she was pregnant. She said that she didn't want to see you and that she would tell you herself. Who knew it would take this long for her to get the courage to talk to you." Mrs. Kim looked down and looked back at Dontae. " When her mother and I went to visit her in California to help her out after she gave birth, I told her that you needed to know what was going on with her and where she was." She continued.

" We told her that you went to jail and that you had to go into a mental facility for a while. She was hurt and heartbroken even more upon hearing this, so we let her take the wheel on you guys situation." Mr. Kim said.

" When she came back a few weeks ago, I told her that if she didn't tell you, then we will. I don't like keeping secrets and I'm surprised that I held on to that one for so long." She was a little annoyed, but she was still apologetic and wanted him to understand their reasoning.

" We're sorry for not telling you the truth. Can you forgive your mom and dad just this once? We won't do it again. We promise!" Mr. Kim said apologetically as he hugged Dontae's shoulders.

" You guys should've told me everything from the start. I don't care if she didn't want me there. As long as I was by her side, I was okay. We would have been okay." Dontae yelled with pain in his heart. " I would've been there for their births. I would've helped her with the babies while she was in school. I would've made away for us to be together." He continued as tears rolled down his cheeks uncontrollably. " I don't know what will become of us now. I don't know my kids, their temperaments. I don't know if I love her anymore." He cried a flood. Mrs. Kim finally got up and went to his side as well to console him.

" If it's meant for you two to be together, then fate will bring you two together. Just look at how you guys are already locked by knots. Mrs.. Kim said as he comforted Dontae with a soothing soft voice.

" You guys will be together again. Just take your time and find your way back to one another. Okay?" Mr. Kim said as he rubbed his sons back.

He smiled through his tears at his parents, believing that things will turn out for the best. But as of now, he is still mad at Amari and she would have to perform a miracle for him to forgive her.
