Frustrated with his hands in his hair, Jordan sits at the table, trying to fight the urge to commit a crime. Joe immediately took notice of it when he came down from his room.
"Dad?" He looks worried at him. Jordan looks at his son, and only now can he see his father's been crying. A man crying? Must be a miracle! Men do cry. Society is what stops a man from being human.
"She's gone," he says and pushes his phone towards him. Joe takes the phone, looking at the message. "I got that text this morning."
"It's better this way," Joe reads, looking confused all of a sudden. That even says enough. "Liam and I are starting our lives over somewhere else. You'll always be in my memories. I love you. Elana."
He gave the phone back to his father, who took it and let it lay facedown on the table.
"She couldn't even explain?"
"She wants a new life," Jordan responds.
