The rescue.

The day after Exodus' attack on the school, things were back to normal. Students were heading to class and the teachers were once again put to the test by their kids. Shiva himself was currently down in the lab with Hank Mccoy.

" Hey, teach. Mind if I ask you a question?" Shiva asked.

Hank looked up from his computer and turned towards the boy. " Hm? Yes, what can I help you with?" Hanka sked the boy.

" I've been looking at the hallways photos and I noticed that Cyclops guy along with Iceman and a guy who looks a lot like you, just less furry in them." Shiva told the man.

" Ah yes, well that would be me before my mutation mutated. But go ahead." Hank told the boy.

" Well, in those pictures I always see you guys smiling. What happened that changed you guys so much?" Shiva asked.

" Ah yes... Well... Those were better days, young man. Scott wasn't so full of himself. He was a much better man." Hank told the boy.

" Do you miss those days?" Shiva asked.

" Why, yes... Yes, I do." Hank replied.

" I hear you guys had some pretty crazy adventures back then. You mind telling me about them?" Shiva asked.

" Ha!" Hank chuckled. " Aren't you supposed to be heading to your next class by now?" Hank asked.

" Yeah, but after that I have detention. And I want something to think about while I'm stuck in class." Shiva answered honestly.

" Hahahahaha!" Hank laughed. " Well, I'm afraid I can't tell you then." Hank told the boy. " But after detention if you're still interested, I'll be glad to share a few stories of my younger years with you." Hank spoke.

Shiva huffed and hopped out of his seat. " Alright, teach. I guess I should be going then. I'll see ya later." Shiva told the man. He waved at Hank and Hank waved back. Shiva then left the man's lab and headed up the stairs where he would be having Rachel's psychic defense class next.

Shiva groaned as he walked slowly towards the class room and suddenly he felt a tug in his mind and knew he was in trouble.

' Shiva, you're gonna be late.' Rachel told the boy telepathically.

' Sorry, teach. I'm on coming now. I promise.' Shiva replied. Seeing that he didn't get an ear full as a response, Shiva knew that he at least had time to get to class. He picked up the pace and raced down the halls towards the danger room, where Rachel held her defense classes.

' Shit, Shit, Shit.' Shiva cursed as neared the classroom.

Time ticked down and just as he reached the door to the danger room, the school bell rang.

*Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

" Whew! I made it in time." Shiva exclaimed.

" Nice to see you're somewhat on time. Now, please join the others in formation." Rachel told the boy.

Shiva nodded and joined Victor, Santo, Ruth, Evan, and Idie.

" Now, you know what to do. Shield your minds and try to keep me out for as long as possible." Rachel told the group. She then began using her mental powers to try and force her way into the student's minds.

Santo immediately crumbled over. Idie, Victor and Evan seemed to be straining themselves just to keep standing, and Shiva was only doing slightly better. The only one in the group who was still in a relatively fine condition was Ruth and she was a telepath like Rachel.

" I see some of you are folding already. Get up and keep going unless you want me to find out your darkest secrets." Rachel spoke. " I see we have a bed-wetter here."

' Damn this woman. Her force is so strong. But I ain't giving up that easy. You want my secrets Ms. Grey? You're gonna have to do better than that.' Shiva thought.

' Oh, I can do more than that.' Rachel replied.

' Shit, she heard me.' Shiva cursed. He squeezed his fists together tightly to try and keep Rachel from getting in but he could feel her easily slipping into his mind.

' Excuse me. Don't give up, Shiva. You can do it.' Ruth told the boy.

Shiva nodded and continued struggling against the woman. ' Gotta focus. Gotta focus.' Shiva chanted to himself. Shiva took a deep breath and raised his hand up to his mouth and bit down on it hard enough to draw blood.

Rachel's eyes went wide when the boy managed to force her back out of his mind. She then smiled at the boy. ' Not a bad idea. But how long is that gonna work for you?' Rachel asked.

An hour went by but for the students fighting against Rachel it felt like an eternity. But eventually the time came for the class to end.

" Not too bad, students. Some of you have definitely made strides in your defense. Santo, you need to work on your mental defenses more. You can't just punch all of your problems away. You all already know your exercises, I'll see you again tomorrow." Rachel told the students.

" Oh, man. I'm so glad that's finally over." Santo exclaimed.

" Yeah, me too." Evan replied.

" I wish you'd tell us how you're so good at it Ruth. I don't think I can keep this up all year at this rate." Shiva asked the girl.

" Excuse me. You just need to focus on something important to you. That's how I do it." Ruth explained.

" Yeah? And what is it you focus on?" Shiva asked.

Ruth, smiled and her skin turned red. The girl then quickly left the classroom.

" What was that about?" Shiva asked.

" Dude, for someone so good at science and English you really are dumb." Victor told the boy before walking away.

" What does that mean?" Shiva asked. Victor continued walking confusing Shiva even more. " Wait, Victor what does that mean man." Shiva went to run after the group but was stopped by Rachel.

" You have detention now. So, head on to the classroom and wait for me. I need to check on something first. " Rachel told the boy. Seeing his disappointment Rachel sighed. " Considering you did help us out greatly; I promise not to treat you too badly. I can't say the same for the others when it's their turn. But at least today consider it a free class." Rachel told the boy.

" Thanks teach." Shiva replied.

Rachel nodded and then walked out of the room.

" Great, guess I'll just go there now. I don't want to make the one person trying to cut me some slack today angry." Shiva complained. He followed his teacher out of the classroom and began making his way to detention. Stopping only to wave at his friends and make fun of Kid Gladiator for being captured by white blood cells during their science class earlier.

Once inside the classroom, Shiva took a seat at one of the desks and put his head down to rest about roughly twenty minutes later the school alarm went off.

" Quarantine Alert! All students report to their safe rooms immediately!" The school's defense system alerted all of the students.

Shiva heard the message and began gathering his things. He then walked out of the classroom and saw that there were a horde of bug like alien creatures named the Brood making their way down the hall. When Shiva exited the class, the Brood all turned towards the boy and attacked him.

" I never did like bugs." Shiva stated. He grabbed the first one to attack him by the head and squashed it in his hands. " I better not get in trouble for this." Shiva exclaimed. He then began working his way through the horde in front of him. One punch was all it took to kill the Brood.

One of the Brood managed to get on his back, but despite its many attempts nothing it could do could penetrate Shiva's dexterous skin. Shiva reached back and crushed the Brood's head in his hand, finishing off the last one in sight.

' These things were headed down into the lower levels. But the only thing that way is Mr. Mccoy's lab and the medical wing.' Shiva thought to himself. " Guess that's where I'm heading." Shiva exclaimed he started following the halls down to the where the Brood where heading and made quick work of the remaining Brood along the way. After killing more of the Brood, Shiva got to the end of the hall. But when he looked at the doorway leading to the east wing, he noticed that something was wrong. ' That's weird the sign of destruction leads back into the east wing. And those Brood there, I didn't kill those. Something tells me whatever is responsible for all of this lies at the end of that hall.' Shiva turned and made his way down the hall following the trail of dead Brood and destroyed equipment to find the source of this problem.

At the end of the hallway and in Iceman's wing, Broo and Kitty were currently being assaulted by a spacefaring doctor.

" I don't understand. Did I do something wrong?" Broo asked the man who currently had him pinned to the wall.

" You were born, Broodling. That was enough. But I'm here to remedy that." The man told Broo.

" I will not fight you. That is not who I am." Broo told the man.

" Believe me, I know." The man replied.

" But I would at least like the opportunity to reason for my life." Broo asked.

The man smiled and then gently put Broo down on the ground. " I do enjoy a healthy debate. But rest assured, you will not sway me from my chosen course of action." The man replied.

" Who sent you to kill me?" Broo asked.

" No one." The man stated.

" I do not understand. You are some sort of spacefaring bounty killer, are you not?" Broo asked.

" Not exactly. More like an extreme zoologist. My name is Professor Xanto Starblood. And I'm here on a science mission." Starblood explained to the boy.

" The Professor Starblood? Head of the intergalactic anthropology department at the university of Rigel-3?" Broo asked in complete surprise.

" You've heard of me?" Starblood asked.

" Oh, indeed sir. I've read all of your books. The interplanetary guide to evolutionary biology. Extinction Imminent: A study of the wild humans of earth. An Illustrated guide to the mating habits of Dire Wraiths." Broo exclaimed.

" Splendid. And what did you think?" Starblood asked.

" Um, perhaps I shouldn't say." Broo replied.

" I have crossed three-star systems just to kill you, young Broodling. I do not imagine one bad review will make much difference." Starblood told the boy.

" I don't understand, Professor. You've always been considered a rather militant theorist, but I never would've guessed you were a murderer." Broo told the man.

" Anyone not willing to murder for the sake of science is no scientist at all." Starblood told the boy.

" But... Why me?" Broo asked.

" There is a precise order to the universe. This I am sure you know. Humans eat processed garbage. Brood eat humans. Starsharks eat the Brood. Things like me eat the Starsharks. And Galactus eats us all." Starblood explained to the boy. " This order has been meticulously developed over millions of years of gradual universal evolution. To disrupt it in fits and starts is to court disaster. Mass extinctions. Chaos of the highest order." Starblood explained. " You would disrupt that order."

" Me? No, I... I certainly wasn't planning to." Broo told the man.

" I have heard of you, even from across the galaxies. The Brood who does not kill. The Brood who was born with compassion. The cutest little Brood who ever lived. The Brood who would destroy us all with his kindness. Brood are killers. Mindless and savage beasts. That is their place in the order of all things, and there they must remain." Starblood explained to the boy. " You are naught but an evolutionary misstep, little Broodling. I am sorry, but I hope you understand... I do this in the name of science." Starblood told the boy. He raised his finger up to Broo's head and prepared to kill the boy. However, just before he did he felt a hand on his shoulder. When he looked back Shiva reeled back and uppercutted Starblood as hard as he could. The man hit the ceiling and the top half of his body went through it and skidded across the roof.

" Sorry, no one's killing my friends. Not today anyway." Shiva told the man.

" Friend Shiva!" Broo exclaimed.

" Hey, little buddy. You doing alright?" Shiva asked the boy.

" Be careful. He's infected Ms. Pryde with Brood." Broo told the boy.

" He did what?" Shiva asked.

" RAAAAAAAAAAGHHHH!" Starblood roared. He burst up from the rubble he was buried in an anger.

" Hang on to that thought, Broo. Get out of here and find the teachers. I'll handle this guy." Shiva told the boy.

" Wait, Friend Shiva." Broo told the boy. He then looked at Starblood and started speaking. " I' told there is a prophecy that foretells the coming of a race of progressive-minded, sympathetic Brood. Do you believe I am the precursor to that race?" Broo asked

" I believe you are an evolutionary abomination that must not be allowed to sully the sanctity of the universal order! Now get over here and let me kill you, you wretched bug!" Starblood yelled.

" That's it. I'm flattening this guy." Shiva spoke.

Starblood ran up to Shiva and slammed his fist down at him. Shiva dodged out of the way and punched Starblood in the side of his face with his left fists. He then hit him in the stomach with his right hands causing Starblood to topple over. Shiva then reeled back and once again hit Starblood in the side of his head with hir right hands, sending him crashing into another wall.

" You wretched little ants. I'll kill you both!" Starblood shouted in anger.

" Hey!" No talking to my students like that!" Everyone turned towards the sound of the voice to see Kitty standing in the doorway with a bunch of little blue Bamfs, Creatures who look similar to Nightcrawler and have his powers.

" Uh?! Ms. Pryde?!" Shiva asked as he looked at the woman he was stunned to see that Kitty appeared to be Pregnant as he had seen her four days ago and she showed no signs of such, now she appeared to be at least nine months along.

" Bamfs... Sick him." Kity shouted. The little blue elves all rushed Starblood and began attacking him.

" Gah! What manner of beasts?!" Starblood shouted as he struggled to fight off the Bamfs.

" C'mon, Broo, Shiva. Let's get outta.... ARGGGGH!" Kitty suddenly toppled over in pain.

" Ms. Pryde!" Shiva and Broo both shouted in worry.

" Damn Ms. Pryde, I gotta say I didn't know you were pregnant." Shiva spoke. " Don't worry I got you." He reached underneath the woman and scooped her up into his arms. " Come on, Broo. We need to find somewhere safe to hide Ms. Pryde. I can't fight that guy and protect you both at the same time." Shiva told the boy.

" Right." Broo replied.

Shiva and Broo ran with Kitty out of the room and down the halls as Starblood struggled with the bamfs.

" Arrrrrgh!" Kitty groaned once again.

" You need medical treatment. Where are the other teachers?" Shiva asked.

" Inside me." Kitty told the boy.

" What?" Shiva asked in confusion.

" Good god, Beast, what the heck are you doing in there?" Kitty asked as she rubbed her stomach.

" What are you talking about?" Shiva asked.

" Ms. Pryde isn't pregnant. She's infected with Brood." Broo told the boy.

" What?" Shiva asked in utter shock and disgust. " Thats-" Shiva was saying.

" BROODLING!" Starblood yelled. The wall near the students burst open and the man started crawling in. " Don't make me depopulate the entire school!" Blood shouted.

" Danger room on!" Kitty Shouted.

The school started morphing and machines of all types started attacking Starblood.

" Ms. Pryde, sit down. I can handle it." Shiva told the woman.

" No! You and Broo get to the saferooms!" Kitty told the boy. She stood between Starblood and the two boys to protect them but was swatted aside by the big man.

" No, Ms. Pryde!" Broo shouted.

" RAAAGH!" Shiva lunged at the man in anger and punched him across the hallway. Starbloods body skidded along the side of the walls during his flight causing the room to shake. Starblood got to his feet and wiped the blood from his mouth. " Fine then. Let's get ugly." Starblood told the boy. Shiva and Starblood both charged each other. Shiva tried to punch the big man, but his fist was caught and Starblood headbutted him, causing him to stumble backwards. Starblood then tried to punch Shiva, but Shiva ducked under the punch and threw a round-house kick to the man's face. Shiva quickly recovered and punched Starblood in his face with his repeatedly with all of his hands, he then punched him as hard as he could in his sternum, causing him to topple over.

As the two men fought, Kitty ended up vomiting up Rachel, Hank, and the other teachers inside of her.

Starblood spit up more blood, but Shiva wasn't finished. he reached down and wrapped all of his arms around Starbloods body and picked him up in the air and power bombed him back down onto the ground. Shiva then started raining down blows on the man's face. Over and over again, Shiva pummeled the man. Shiva continued punching, despite the blood on his fist. " This ugly enough for you?" Shiva asked the man.

Starblood looked up and smiled at the boy mockingly.

Shiva raised his fist again to strike the man but was stopped by Hank.

" Shiva! It's over." Hank told the boy. Shiva turned around to see the others had appeared and looked back at the man beneath him. He was beaten, so Shiva relented and got off of the man. " Get this filth out of my school." Shiva exclaimed.

" Wait..." Kitty reached out for Shiva's hand and took it.

" You okay, Ms. Pryde?" Shiva asked the woman.

" Yeah. You did good today, kid. Keep up the good work." Kitty told the boy.

" Thanks. I'm glad to hear you're okay. But what are we gonna do about...? Well, all of this?" Shiva asked.

" Don't worry, I have a friend from SWORD coming. She'll be able to help Kitty and Kid Gladiator get back to normal. And they'll also have a nice cell for our Friend over there." Hank told the boy.

" Until then, consider you detention over. Now, come with me and we'll help get the students out of their safety rooms." Rachel told the boy.

Shiva nodded and the two went to the shelter area of the school and began pooling all of the students back from their lockdown.

Later on, that night after everything had settled down once again. Shiva was sitting in his window and was looking out at the night sky.

' What a fun day. Didn't have to stay in detention for too long, killed some bugs, fought a space doctor, and saved the school. Yup I think I'll call this one a win.' Shiva thought to himself. ' Too bad, I didn't have time to speak with Ruth and the others. I would have liked to tell them about what happened. I'll do it tomorrow.' Shiva was contempt with his day and enjoying the night air, however his attention was drawn to the large spaceship coming towards the school. ' I wonder what that was about.' Shiva said to himself as he watched the ship land. He got off his window and walked out of his bedroom and started making his way to the hangar, where the ship would be landing, along the way he ran into some of the teachers, Including Hank, Rachel, and Bobby.

" What are you doing up so late?" Bobby asked.

" Well, I'm still trying to work off all the adrenaline from earlier." Shiva told the man. " I just can't sleep right now."

" Well, you should still be in your room. We have a curfew for a reason." Rachel told the boy.

" Yeah, but I'm just too curious to miss this." Shiva told the girl.

" Well, I don't think just this once would be too much of a problem. Let's let our young friend accompany us. After all he did us a favor today." Hank told the others.

They all shrugged their shoulders and just kept it moving. Hank then put his hand on Shiva's shoulder gave him a thumbs up and winked at him.

Shiva returned the thumbs up and winked back.

The group quickly made their way down to the hangar and were greeted with a surprise that shocked every single one of them.

" AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" Logan yelled in absolute pain as Quentin carried him off of the ship.

Both of his legs had somehow been miraculously broken in every kind of direction, which thanks to the Adamantium bonded to his skeleton it should have been impossible. Hank quickly ran up to the man and picked him up off the ground.

" What happened?" Rachel asked Quentin.

" He made me go with him to some space casino to try and make money for the school. The short version, we got caught and they hit him with something that broke his legs." Quentin explained.

" Jesus, I thought his bones were unbreakable." Shiva exclaimed as he looked at the mangled mess of Logan's legs.

" They are... On earth at least. I guess the same doesn't apply to space." Bobby stated trying to make light of the situation.

" Out of the way!" hank shouted. He and Rachel quickly ran down to his lab leaving Quentin, Bobby and Shiva behind.

" Guess that just leaves us. the fun's over. you two get to bed." Bobby told the boys. " I'm gonna go see... Well, I don't really know." Bobby stated as he walked off after the others.
