Regensis!

The flames of war had died down and the time to choose had come. Logan had made his way all over the Island of Utopia rounding up as many X-men and students that he could.

" Well, what do you think, kid?" Logan asked Bart as they sat in the boy's room.

Bart seemed to be genuinely thinking over Logan's proposal. But in the end Bart had come to a decision. " I want to go. I do. But I can't leave my team or my friends? Because we don't really act like a team. Hope's more like a snobby boss and well I don't really think she likes me. But Laurie... Well, that's just complicated." Bart explained to the man.

Logan sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose. " Oh well if you ever decide you want to leave the door will always be open. Take care kid." Logan said to the boy before turning to leave.

" Wait!" Bart yelled stopping the man.

Logan turned and looked at the boy with a raised eyebrow.

" I might not want to go, but I think you should take Idie. She's too young to be worrying about fighting and ever since she had killed that man, she's been getting further and further in depression. I think a new environment would be wonderful for her." Bart explained to the man.

Logan nodded and walked away.

" Oh, man. What a way for things to turn out huh? Not even a week and everyone hates each other. What did we get ourselves into?" Bart asked himself as he collapsed back onto his bed. " I should probably go see how Laurie's doing. I know she wanted to speak with hope. Maybe she's leaving after all." Bart said to himself. He got to his feet and ran down the hall towards Hope's room on Utopia.

" I never told you about my dad, did I?" Hope asked Laurie as the girl pointed a gun at her head. Seeing this Bart froze in the doorway and began listening.

" I mean he wasn't my dad-dad. But he raised me. he protected me. He took me to the end of time and back. He taught me how to punch. To break a guy's nose. He taught me how to be cut without crying. Anything worth teaching, he taught me. And he died in front of me. Like, two months back." Hope explained to Laurie unaware that Bart was listening as well. Hope laid back and stared up at the ceiling as she continued. " Him and a bunch of other people. All because... I dunno. They thought I was some kind of messiah. That I could save everyone. I thought it was insane. It was stupid. I mean me? A messiah? No way. Look at the way I act. I'm no messiah. But I come back and you all appear. And I touch you and you're all cured. And we're all bonded together. Well, most of us anyway. I don't think Bart's bonded to us. How I don't know, but he's not. After everything that's happened I thought my dad was right. It's all for a reason, like fate or something." Hope explained to the girl.

" Hope, this isn't about you." Laurie said to the girl.

" It has to be, for a reason. Because if I'm not this messiah. Then my dad died for absolutely nothing." Hope explained to Laurie as tears began welling up in her eyes. " We're together for a reason. We have to be." Hope stated.

Laurie felt truly bad for Hope and lowered her gun. She slowly started walking backward until she collapsed into Bart's arms. " Bart?" Laurie asked as she looked back at the boy.

Hope turned her head and was just as surprised as Laurie was to see the boy standing there.

" You know, Hope you're so strong and together and." Bart was saying to the girl.

" A total bitch? Yeah, I know. I know." Hope said to the boy.

" You're so much more than that, Hope. If only you'd be honest like that all of the time instead of trying to be superior. Your teammates might actually come to like you. At least I don't hate you." Bart said to the girl. " But you know what you have to do. I told Logan to take Idie with him." Bart said to the girl.

Hope took a deep breath and sighed. " I agree. Idie should leave. But I need the rest of you. Please." Hope said to the boy.

Bart and Laurie both nodded and left Hope to herself.

" Oh, Bart what are we going to do with all of this?" Laurie asked the boy.

Bart turned to the girl and gave her a reassuring smile. " The only thing we can do. Keep moving forward one step at a time. Together." Bart said to the girl.

Laurie smiled and nodded in agreement as the two continued their walk

" Hey, Laurie can I ask you a question?" Bart asked the girl.

" yeah, sure go ahead." Laurie said to the boy.

" Are you naked?" Bart asked the girl referring to the fact she didn't wear clothes.

" Not really. it's complicated. My skin is like an armor now. So, I don't really need to wear clothes." Laurie explained to the boy.

" I see, so it's like you are. But you aren't." Bart exclaimed.

" Exactly." Laurie replied.

" So, does that mean like you can be more Naked?" Bart asked.

" Wouldn't you like to know." Laurie said playfully.

Bart's face turned red at the thought of the girl's beautiful blue body. " That's cheating you know." Bart said to the girl.

Laurie looked back at the boy and grinned. " Why, whatever could you be thinking of?" Laurie asked as before continuing to walk, her hips swaying more and more accentuating her curves.

" That girl knows what she's doing. Well, two can play this game." Bart stated. He ran down the hall and scooped Laurie up causing her to yelp in surprise.

Laurie laughed as Bart ran her down the hallway. The two stopped just short of the window and watched as the Jet carrying Logan's people took off into the distance.

" Hard to see her go. But I'm glad she'll be in a better place." Bart said to Laurie as he thought of Idie.

" Yeah, but. I will miss her. She was the only other girl on the team that I liked. In fact she was the only one, until you showed up." Laurie said to the boy.

" Yeah, Gabriel's a nice guy and Kenji's well he's Kenji. But Idie seemed like a real nice young lady. I can't imagine what went through her mind that night. I hope she's happy." Bart said to the girl.

" Me too, Bart. Me too." Laurie said to the boy.

At the end of the day Utopia lost more than half of its X-Men as Bobby drake/Iceman. Kitty pryde/Shadowcat. Gambit. Rogue. Hank mccoy. Wolverine. Rachel. Frenzy. all left as well as members of the student body new and old. Blindfold. Rockslide. Anole. Hellion. Herman. Bling. Sooraya. Cessily. Indra. And Laura all left as well leaving the two factions split. Wolverine and the x-men and Cyclops' Uncanny X-Men.
