The Scaled Outcast

Caylub's POV:

I woke up in my room to an aggressive banging on the door. "Prince Caylub, your father has brought a potential bride for you to meet." Bride?! I'm 17, what the hell does he mean bride- I rolled my eyes and stood up. "I'm coming Kastian..." I got dressed into formal attire and sat the crown on my head and headed to the throne room accompanied by Kastian. "Back straight, chin up." Kastian said, I followed his orders. Kastian is like a father to me... Well, more of a father than my dad. He's tough, but kind. I enter the throne room and there she was... Princess Diana of the Southern Kingdom. She has platinum blonde hair, and bright blue eyes, she's got a pretty face for a girl. "No." I said plainly. My father glared at me.

"You haven't even talked to her."

"No need, I already know she's not my type." I said, bluntly.

"I urge you to reconsider, or else." Wow, threats, such a big man aren't you. I thought to myself and roll my eyes.

"Oh I'm sorry your Kingliness, if liking men is such a sin why do girls do it?" I headed towards the door, and it slammed shut.

"YOU BEST OBEY ME BOY!" He yelled.

"FOR FUCK SAKES! YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE! WHY THE FUCK CAN'T I JUST LIVE MY LIFE?!" I snapped. "EVER SINCE MOM DIED YOU'VE TREATED ME LIKE SHIT!" I kept yelling for a good 20 minutes, poor Diana was just stood there uncomfortably. I feel bad for her man. My father was quiet, and then he said.

"Get out of my sight." I was too scared to stay and find out what he'd do if I did so I left.

I started walking down to the courtyard, when Diana caught up.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know about any of that." I smiled and rubbed my arm.

"It's not your fault Diana, he's an ignorant prick." Diana walked with me in silence. And then she broke it-

"I know something that might cheer you up." She said and dragged me out the castle.

Before I continue, I should probably tell you abit about this land. We live in a land called Dracoris. A hidden continent on Earth. Its a very beautiful place with stuff like elves, dragons, unicorns... And humans.

For thousands of years us humans have been at war with these other creatures, due to some human makes who use dark magic (Sacrificing living things to cast spells). Ever since then the continent was split in 2; Draconis, which is the side of the Mythological. And Amerix, The side of the mortal. My Kingdom just happens to be right next to the border...

Another thing you should know, there is a human boy who was outcast by Amerix and took in by a nest of dragons- Yea... You're probably thinking, what does any of this have to do with the plot that is about to happen? You'll see.

So, Diana takes us into the wood and hides behind a tree. "What are y-" I started, Diana then cut me off.

"Shhhh, they'll hear you." She whispered. I looked at what she was looking at... I couldn't believe my eyes... a nest of dragons-? I stared at their beauty and glory.

"Put your hands up humans!" I heard a voice. I put my hands up and faced her. A tanned girl, blonde hair, yellow eyes... and pointy ears... An elf.

"Ah-" Diana exclaimed quietly.

"ROMORA! THEY'RE WITH ME!" Yelled a familiar voice. The elf put her bow down and a boy appeared behind her. It was Epix.

Epix is a 5'9 boy with rather tanned skin, his hair is a nice toxic green colour and his eyes are as black as night and his smile is as bright as day... I mean- he's got a good smile I guess, but what stands out most about Epix is the random white scales scattered on his body in place of skin. Not all of his skin is scale, in fact, very little is scale. Just small parts of his body, a bit of his neck, his back, his chest, his hand, etc etc. The boy raised by dragons, Cursed with the Wyrmscale disease.

"Hey guys, we were about to feed the dragons wanna help?" He asked. His smile gave off warm and welcoming vibes... but the daggers being shot into the back of my neck gave off 'fuck off' vibes...

"Sure!" Diana said confidently.

Epix takes us to the cage and hands

Me: Chicken,

Diana: Flowers,

Romora: ''Holy,, meat- whatever that is.

And himself, rotten Flesh.

"There's only 4 dragons left to feed." He said. He brought out a large pink and white dragon with branches growing out her back instead of wings. On these branches were cherry blossom leaves. She was beautiful.

"Diana, Sakura. Sakura, Diana." The Dragon bowed her head at Diana, who bowed back and held out the flowers. Sakura started eating the flowers and let's out a low roar in appreciation.

Epix and Romora feed their respective dragons.

The Dragon Epix fed smelled of rot and decay, its flesh was green and mouldy, you could see some of its bones... the eyeless eye sockets were creepy... but what's worse is the green liquid that was dripping out its mouth stunk. I believe his name was Parasite, and he's a Zombie dragon- makes sense now.

The Dragon Romora was feeding, Zariel, was a large Angelic dragon... golden and white in colour, her wingspan looked like it could be wider than the cave itself... and a halo floated above her head. Even the way it ate was elegant..

Now it was my turn... I have never been more scared of anything in my life... A large yellow dragon appeared. Its neck was long, and overall it seemed extremely Aerodynamic... a large horn laid at the end of its snout. "This is Slipstream, he's the fastest dragon I know. He's a species of dragon known as a Speedling." I was too stunned by his beauty and forgot to feed it. Out of impulse I put my hand out slowly... the Dragon tilted its head. I closed my eyes and felt something touch the palm of my hand. I opened my eyes to see the dragon had places its nose on my hand and had its eyes closed... this feels like a dream... I stroked him and gave him some meat.

"Now, y'all wanna take them for a ride?" Epix said.

"HELL YEAH!" Me and Diana shouted.

"Epix, no." Romora said. Epix just looked at her with a smug smile.

"You won't change my mind they aren't r-"
