XXXXXXXXXX Ben Tennyson's Summer Road Trip

"Carl Tennyson would develop cancer in the year 1999 and die in the year 2000. The grief caused by his death has strained the Tennyson family."

"Max Tennyson would suggest a cross-country road trip to try and help Ben Tennyson in moving on from his father's death. This is also the reasoning for Gwen Tennyson to join the trip, but rather than her, it is to get her out of the house and allow her parents some alone time so Natalie can help Frank in overcoming his brother's passing. Max would also pick-up Ben's inseparable best friend since preschool - Kim Possible. On the first day of the trip, Ben sees a strange object fall from the sky. Approaching it, he finds a device inside that latches onto his wrist."

"Messing with the device on his wrist, Ben Tennyson would be temporarily transformed into a creature of alien origin. This would lead Max to reveal the origin of the device called the Omnitrix and his own history as a secret agent covertly known as a Plumber. Later, the group would be shopping in a supermarket when it would come under attack by Aloysius Animo. They would try to help people and come into conflict with the man and his band of mutated animals. Ben would use the Omnitrix to transform into another alien to fight back, but when Aloysius tried to use some sort of mutagenic ray on him, Gwen would throw herself in the way. Struck by the blast, her latent meta-gene would become active. Her mutant abilities then absorbed some of Ben's alien DNA and synchronized with his transformation to become a mutant human-alien hybrid. Using her newfound powers, she and the others were able to combat Aloysius's creatures, disarm him, and save the day. Afterwards, Gwen would be distraught over her identity as a mutant and begin a journey of self-discovery."

XXXXXXXXXX Ben Tennyson's Pokémon Journey

The summer road trip of Ben and his family ends August 18th, 2000 - a week before school begins to give time to adjust and unwind.

"The summer road-trip comes to an end, and Max, Kim, Gwen, and Ben return home. However, Ben is unwilling to let the adventure end. So, Max offers to contact an acquaintance from his Plumber days - Pokémon Professor Samual Oak. Instead of returning to school, Sandra Tennyson gives her permission for Ben to go to Kanto and embark on a Pokémon Journey - becoming a Pokémon Trainer."

The period from August 18th to August 31st consists of Ben convincing his family to let him be a Pokémon Trainer and making the necessary arrangements with school, Samual Oak, the Kanto Pokémon League, the government, etc.

"Ben arrives in Pallet Town the morning before the Pokémon League Season begins where he is greeted by Professor Oak who has agreed to house the boy until he sets out on his journey the following day."

Episode one of the Pokémon anime - "Pokémon, I Choose You!" - begins that night.

"The Kanto Region is located near Japan where it neighbors the Johto and Hoenn Regions. It is considered a rite of passage here for children to embark on a Pokémon Journey at the age of ten. The child travels to the resident Pokémon Professor who bestows them a low-level Pokémon for their Journey. It is possible for a Pokémon Journey to be sponsored by a notable Trainer, a recognized Professor, or other noteworthy figure to provide funding for their Journey. A sponsor may provide their sponsee with a low-level Pokémon as their starter rather than one provided by the professor.
