Chapter 14

Alright, that's enough staring at my stats and skills. I need to clear this Dungeon out and keep grinding some levels. First things first, bringing back my Servants. "[Summon: Servant]."

At my call a golden magic circle appears, summoning two Servants this time. The one on the right is obviously a man, just like the one I had before, but it's the other one that has me surprised.

It's a woman, dressed in the same look of an all-black suit -in a woman's style- with the same featureless white mask that covers her entire face. The swell of her modest-sized chest beneath the suit, and the subtle curve of her backside beneath her pants makes me like her already as my hormones force my mind to think of all the possibilities that come with an utterly loyal woman who will serve my every command.

I'll need to give this some serious thought before I decide if I want to actually fuck one of my summons. But it's definitely an enticing idea, if for no other reason than to get rid of my virginity and get some practice in before I try my hand at someone like Yasaka. Or hell, even Aika for that matter. If I ever get that girl in bed, it'll be awkward as shit if we're both virgins fumbling around, even with our perverted natures.

Thoughts of sex aside, I quickly conjure another Holy Sword with Blade Blacksmith. Motioning the female Servant to take it, I have the male pick up the iron sword that their comrade had dropped after his sacrifice, since I can't give him one of his own.

Looking the two of them over, they're not exactly an army, but I like where this is going. I can only imagine what someone will think when they see an actual army of these Servants standing behind me with their featureless white masks and a Holy Sword in each of their hands. The threat of what their numbers and weapons could do should scare off any Low to Mid-Class Devils at least.

Turning back to the dirt path, I take the lead as we move on towards the next group of Skeletons, once again finding a group of three who are standing there lifelessly waiting for us. '[Observe]'

Leveled Up - Skill:

[Observe] (Active) - Lvl. 16 (Novice)

That's nice, but not important right now as I send my two Servants to take on the left and middle Skeletons while I handle the right. The fight is almost too easy now that I don't have to focus on multiple opponents by myself, and with the Holy Swords cutting through the Skeletons like nothing, it all lasts barely a minute before it's over.

[Skeleton] (x3) defeated.

Nice! Another 12% experience, which now brings me up to 24% of the way to Level 3… and I'm only just getting started.

- Later -

Quickly cutting off the legs of the Skeleton in front of me, I stab my Holy Sword into its chest until the blade buries into the ground, killing it instantly as its body breaks apart into more bones that blend in with the others scattered around.

Leaving the sword buried in the ground for a second, I use it as a rest to lean on while I pant.

It really shouldn't have surprised me that the Dungeon wouldn't keep things at just sets of three Skeletons, but when I and my small growing army of Servants stumbled across a group of six, I admittedly froze before quickly ordering my summons into battle.

Turning to my summons, I'm pleased to see an additional five new masked faces staring back at me. Each one carrying a Holy Sword in their hands, with the lone one in the group still having to wield the iron sword. '[Observe].'

Servant - Level 8

That's right, my summons are finally starting to grow after all of the Skeletons we've faced. I quickly found out that even with the additional summons killing their own enemies, they all share the same experience. Which is lucky for me, because otherwise I'd have to worry about one Servant getting more experience than another, leading to a horribly unbalanced group of summons.

Leveled Up - Skills:

[Summon: Servant] (Active) - Lvl. 8 (Novice)

[Sacred Gear: Blade Blacksmith] (Common) - Lvl. 8 (Novice)

[Swordsmanship] (Passive) - Lvl. 11 (Novice)

Leveled Up - Class:

[Class: Summoner] - Lvl. 7 (Novice)

Sadly, the Summoner Class is slower to level up than the skills. But I figure with enough time and more summons, it'll be less of an issue down the line. I'm more worried about how long it'll take to level up all of my skills once they reach the 70's and 80's, since I can already see a slight decrease in progression with my Swordsmanship. I can't imagine the grinding I'll have to do to level it up at that point.

I'm still not Level 10 yet, but I'm getting close. The fact that I was able to get several more levels through a single Dungeon was nice, but the first few levels are always the easiest to get in video games.

Standing myself up, I grab the Holy Sword I buried in the ground and pull it out, sending a small bit of dirt flying as it comes up to rest on my shoulder.

Lugging around a sword gets tedious after a while, especially when there's no scabbard to put it in that'll keep me from accidentally cutting myself with the blade. But if my Servants aren't complaining, then I guess I won't either. It'd be awkward if I was the only one raising a fuss about something so miniscule.

Glancing back at my summons, I enjoy watching them line up like soldiers in two rows.

There are now three female and four male Servants standing there dutifully, each one identical to the next besides their gender, and all of them waiting to carry out my orders to the letter. But the odd number of four in front and three in the back makes me frown. I don't particularly like odd numbers, and that missing spot in the otherwise perfect rows stands out more than it should.

At least their numbers are growing. With this many Servants at hand, I can have them start taking care of the house and dealing with chores that I frankly can't be bothered to do.

I think you're just being laaazy~!

'Would you want to do chores, Gaia?'

Nope! :)

Exactly. No one ever really wants to do them, and if it gives me more time to do other things, then I have no problems using my Servants in that way.

My thoughts on chores are interrupted by the sudden arrival of a chest, signaling the end of this Dungeon.

Making my way over to the chest as the sound of several perfectly-synced footsteps march behind me, I peer inside the wooden interior to see what new reward I got. The first one had been an amazing reward, one which had saved me a lot of trouble in arming myself and my summons, so I had high hopes for this one.

…'it's empty.'

Not exactly!

Oh, I can get perks from clearing Dungeons? That's nice; not exactly the same as getting a Sacred Gear, but I'm not going to complain. Especially since DxD is filled with big tits, and the women they belong to are typically gorgeous.

Or maybe not, I don't think my mind could comprehend someone powerful enough to create her and the Gamer System.

"[Dungeon: Close]." I'm tired, and completely covered in dirt and sweat. I think I'll skip a second run through of the Dungeon and settle for a long, hot shower instead.
