The two cuddled for quite some time. Before long, Mika and Keiko had stopped by to tell them the kitchen would be free the rest of the night for Kai's pie extravaganza.
"Are you okay?" Liam eventually asked.
"Yeah," Kai said. "I'm going to go make pies."
"Do you want help?"
"Can you make pies?" Kai asked.
"Um," Liam paused.
"I'll take that as a no," Kai teased.
"Is there anything I could do I wouldn't mess up?" Liam asked.
"You can open things," Kai said.
"Wow, so useful."
"Yeah."
The two went to the kitchen. As Kai sat around in the cabinets to gather all the ingredients he was going to use, Liam stood at the center island, tapping his fingers over the marbled countertop.
Kai began mixing the ingredients for the pie crust. After, he set the bowl and the pie lams in front of Liam.
