Chapter 35: Tables Turning

Zeke and Azia both arrived at the next investigation session with heavy hearts. A few days had passed since their embarrassing exchange in the library and neither one of them had recovered from that day. It had been easy enough to avoid each other by remaining at their respective compounds in the days that followed.

But there was no avoiding each other on investigation day. Not only would they have to endure time together on the panel, but they had also agreed to a joint meeting with their Alphas immediately after the session. It was an arrangement they had agreed to before things had fallen spectacularly apart and both thought about the meeting with increasing dread.

Each wrapped in their personal drama, the added stress of the ongoing investigation was taking a toll on them. They were desperate for any kind of lead, and Eric Rowlands, the man that Ralph had first mentioned, was their last hope.
