Chapter 23: Reality Dawns
When they opened their eyes to look around themselves clearly, they noticed that the area above their heads was filled with bats, flying all over the place.
“Oh, no! Bats!” Raul screamed, as he fanned the creatures away from his head. Melinda had her head buried in his shoulder, where her screams were smothered.
“What on earth is this?” Raul asked, almost whimpering.
“The snake park has to be vacated, unfortunately,” a voice announced over the intercom.
Raul and Melinda were both equally shocked and could barely move, until one of the security staff members approached them and guided them back up the stairs and safely towards the exit points. The security staff were waving away the bats with their batons. As they reached the exit doors, Raul was suddenly hit by a thought. Why did Percival disappear suddenly and then out of the blue bats show up in a snake park?
“It’s him! It’s Percival’s doing!” Raul shouted angrily, punching the air with his fist.
