The first escapede

Crew acquired ship ready plan made now it was time to get started first I had to find a rich sucker to buy the yhat then we just needed to seriously ruin his day. The bidding for the yhat was quite intense but it still ended up with the local mega corporation which was perfect for my plans. The shuttle launched to the space station where the new owners were currently waiting for their new acquisition and it happened to have 34 unreported stowaways aboard.

While we were headed to the station I did some creative coding and convinced the crew of the orbiting carrier that they were about to have a core meltdown so that they would move to a safe distance and evacuate their ship. All this happened while the star cruiser just happened to be in dock for maintenance and reloading it was the perfect time for my plan. My crew were armed with home built laser rifles and homemade body armor that I had printed out from a variation of space marine armor and used my own materials to create along with a couple modifications. We docked with not a single problem and quickly vacated the ship scurrying into the atmospheric ductwork and made our way to the star cruisers docking bay quickly so we would be in position when my second distraction went off.

Honestly I maybe went to far with the software traps I put in the yhat I mean the second the new owners entered their details the ship would lock them in the bridge and lock out everything in it meanwhile they would be hurtling out into space transmitting a distress beacon that would say they had a systems error that was endangering the crew and then when the fleet destroyer had rendezvoused with them the ship would self destruct. The plan was to board the cruiser during the distraction and complete the mission before the final bang and well it went exactly as planned honestly it would be impossible to claim that it didn't make me giddy though we did end up having to deal with forty unarmed naval crew it was significantly better than the normal complement of a thousand.

The plan went smoothly with a minimum loss of life at least on my side sadly I didn't have stun weapons so I couldn't say the same thing for the other guys as most refused to surrender it was gory but there would be no freedom without sacrifice so we did what we had to do. Ship cleared we set out luckily the system destroyers had went to the yhats aid and were completely out of station and one was crippled and the security corvettes wouldn't be a problem even if they got a little rough. The carrier had plenty of automated defenses and we could always toss some weaponry at them if they got cheeky what mattered now was getting out of the system.

The run to deep space proved simple and boring really the corvettes tried to hide in the carriers blind spots and disable the engines but a few rapid course corrections and a couple volleys of laser fire left both in rough shape the thin armor of a corvette barely more than a useless defense against capitol ship grade weapons. As we neared the jump point the last destroyer was nearly in range but we jumped out with time to spare. I should mention that we boarded the cruiser and disabled it then stole a couple shuttles and flew to the carrier like we owned it the casualties were purely on the cruiser as the carriers crew had evacuated the ship due to the alarms.

We were in the carrier a old Frost Moth class escort carrier something closer to a armed carrier ship if I had to say specifically what it was honestly like they had taken and welded a couple boxy flight bays to a normal cruiser and just moved a few weapons to cover them not exactly pretty but certainly not a poor choice in my opinion. The Frost Moth escort carrier had everything a pirate might want decent shields and operational flexibility plus plenty of cargo space and decent armor the only thing lacking was its speed though in jump space that didn't really matter. I began compiling data and looking for a target preferably a nice rich merchant we could rob especially if it was corporate.

We had a full load of fighters and ordinance 21 general purpose class 5 light fighters and 120 class 3 light anti ship missiles plus ammunition for the few ballistic weapons onboard we were set now all we had to do was make it our home.
