Chapter 5 - Reunion

[Intro]

With all the paperwork done I've finally got some free time, I guess I'll check in on him, "hey Santiago, where are they right now?" She inquired.

"Their playing outside at the moment, but I'm really surprised it worked." the one I'm talking to is my old friend, Dr. Brigid Juno, after I consulted a few doctors on how to help little Louis with his rehab, I was introduced to Dr. Juno who was my professor in college and who researched the use of elemental Crystal's and their possible healing properties.

"I was fully confident that it would work, I have been working on it for a long time now," she boasted, she's eccentric but kind, a beautiful woman with white hair and golden eyes, and what grabs your attention aren't her eyes but her pointed elf-like ears,

"Thank you for helping him, Doctor." I'm just glad I was able to help and it was a worthwhile learning experience as well.

"Ah... Santiago, You still have much to learn but you'll be just fine, you're both a skilled and efficient nurse, with a bit more experience I know you'll excel," all right, let's go see the kids".

Walking out to meet up with the kids, I noticed that Valerie's family came to visit, this time it's just her mother and little sister, but after finding us she explained that she had work and left her daughter in our care so she could play with her sister, and she'd pick her up at 7 pm.

So the three of us went to where they were playing and left them, as we sat down on a bench nearby while watching the kids play Dr. Juno began asking me questions about the scar on Louis's chest, so I told her about what I heard from the other nurses, how he lost his mother and getting hurt by his grieving father, then getting hit by a car at her funeral, but what I never understood was, how did his wounds heal overnight?.

The incident report I got from the hospital mentioned that he had broken bones and serious blood loss on his way here in the ambulance, but after re-examination, we found nothing wrong, which baffled us, his bones were miraculously healed and his blood pressure was normal. "It really is amazing, when you think about it logically, the crystal embedded in his body was the reason he not only survived but also his quick recovery,"

"listen to Santiago, the world is still changing and we need to prepare for what's to come, lest we find ourselves staring I into the abyss with no hope for the future".

Santy and Biddy brought over Val's little sister mentioning that their mom will pick her up later. "Ele come over here, his is Louis, my friend!" She said excitedly, like her sister, Ele has pretty emerald eyes, "Hi there Ele, I'm Louis, you can call me lu".

"Ok big brother lu!" saying with a smile and a laugh, we played on the swings and ran around the yard, it'll finally falling on our backs from exhaustion cuz we played so much.

Soon Santy came over with a woman who was Val and Ele's mom. "Eleanor, it's time to go home sweetie," her mom announced, with a nod, Ele waved us goodbye and left with her saying she'll come to play again next time.

"Hey kiddo, it's also time I take you two to your rooms," said Santy, picking me up on his shoulder and doing the same with Val, "it's almost diner time, what do you guys want to eat?" Hearing those words, we forgot our sleepiness and excitedly yelled in unison, Pizza! "Hahaha, alright, pizza it is then!" the future hm.. no matter what happens, I'm always on your side.

[Present]

Finishing up our wings release, we returned to class with Mr. Kendric soon after. He reinforced what we've learned from Ms. Amber by explaining the types of elements, abilities, weapon specialties and wing's.

He explained that there are Six elements, with the base elements being fire, water, wind and earth, with the light and dark elements being rare as only 1/100,000 are born with these elements.

Then there are the different advanced levels of elements and the skills we can learn by reaching these higher levels, while explaining he passed out different badges to everyone. "Alright everyone, I understand that Ms. Amber helped you with unlocking your wings, these badges help control the abilities you've gained," Mr. Kendric explained, demonstrating how it's used by taking a needle to his index finger and pressing it to the badge, the once blank white badge turned black with a red phenix in the center, "these badges show an estimate of your potential, the color of the badge shows your element and the creature is your next objective to reach."

The objectives mentioned start with the three levels, real, legendary and mythical, first years all start at real and our first objectives are speed which is signifed by the wolf, strength which is signifed by the lion, intelligence which is signifed by the turtle, and finally reflexes which is signifed by the snake.

"For the next four months you'll be focusing on achieving these objectives, which will show both the level you've reached and element your most proficient in."

By practicing using our weapons and elements together, we needed to reach and surpass each one of the four objectives, only then will we reach the next step, Legendary. "both Ms. Amber and I will help you train to develop your new abilities, after the next four months you'll be ready to participate in the Towers Peak," declared kendric. The Towers Peak, is a quarterly academy tournament with the last two happening back to back, "those who reach the top are given a custom weapon of their chosing and the rank of spirit," kendric said.

As he finished his explanation the bell rang, signalling the end of the day. On my way home, Jack and I remembered we needed to go meet Ms. Amber, walking through the hall it didn't take long for us to get there, walking in we found Ms. Amber with another student, her dark red hair was beautiful but not as much as her emerald eyes, "hey there Lu, long time no see" she said, her voice is as loud as ever but it has been to long since we've seen each other.

"Hey Val, glad to see you again."
