Blake held Marissa's hand tightly, offering reassurance as they exited the court. It had taken them more than half a year to resolve Zelda's case, and she was finally free. Marissa took a deep breath, relieved that reporters hadn't swarmed the court. Blake had done his best to maintain confidentiality, preventing them from learning about the case.
"Let's grab something to eat first," Blake suggested as they walked to the car. "You haven't eaten well since last night."
Marissa managed a weak smile and nodded. "Let's go." She hadn't had much appetite since she'd been consumed with worry over the case verdict. Despite her mother ceasing to bother her since that night, Marissa knew Wanda remained hopeful, wishing for Zelda's release from prison.
Opening the car door for Marissa, Blake asked, "What do you want to eat?"
A big smile appeared on her face as she tried her best to reassure Blake that she was okay. "Hmm, anything."
