Blake moved in front of Marissa. His tall build immediately covered Marissa's petite body. "She didn't have anything to do with that." He affirmatively replied to Ruby's question.
Ruby moved her head slightly to the left, trying to take a peek at Marissa, "Staying late at a man's house, wearing his shirt and you tell me that she had nothing to do with anything?" The corner of her lip slowly curved into a smirk. "Do you think I would believe that?"
"Yes you should believe it as it is." Blake said with his annoyed face. "Please grandma, it is late. Go home." Blake walked forward and held her hand to bring her outside.
Marissa instantly pulled down the t-shirt when she was once again visible in front of Ruby's eyes.
"So Miss…" Ruby stopped. She halted Blake's attempt to drive her out.
"Ah..Maris-"
"Stop!" Blake shouted all of a sudden, making Marissa startled. She was just trying to introduce herself and maybe explained herself. Kept on blinking her eyes, she didn't know what to do next.
Ruby gave him a knowing smirk before shifting her eyes back to Marissa, "He is so protective over you. You must be someone special. So Miss Mari, I guess. Tell me, is there anything wrong with him that made you still hesitant to receive his proposal?"
Marissa's eyes open wider. "Proposal?" She answered in shock. 'What proposal was she talking about?'
"Oh!" Ruby covered her mouth, "He did not?"
"Grandma!" Blake lost his patience. "Let's talk tomorrow." His brow frowning in anger.
Ruby raised both of her hands in surrender, "Okay, okay. Make sure you are there for breakfast." She turned and headed to the door before once again stopping, making Blake almost stumble at her.
"Grandma!" He let out a huge exhalation, trying to calm his annoying feeling at that moment.
"What? I just want to say something to her…" She said, pursed her lower lips out.
"There is nothing more to say…" Blake held onto her shoulders and slightly pushed her in a gentle way.
He closed the door but managed to catch a glance on Marissa and mouthed, "wait for a while."
Marissa just nodded in confusion. She didn't know what was going on and she believed that old lady just now was his grandmother.
"I will explain everything tomorrow." Blake lightly pushed her out of the house. Her bodyguard, who was still waiting outside, quickly came to her side to get her handbag from her hand.
"Make sure, tomorrow by se…ven." She stressed the word seven. "Or else I will come here again tomorrow morning." She jokingly threatened in a serious tone.
"Not seven!" Blake disagreed.
"Why why? Why can't you reach by seven, what do you plan to do tonight?" Ruby narrowed her eyes, hinted a naughty thought.
"Grandma!" Blake was so embarrassed he took a glance at the bodyguard at his grandmother's side. "Stop being childish…" He muttered the word angrily.
"Okay…" Ruby rolled her eyes and turned to leave. A few steps forward she stopped and turned looking at Blake again, "By seven."
Blake closed his eyes and bit his lip in annoyance. "Okay! Okay!" He entered the house right after saying those words. Looking at the door to his room, he sighed. 'What should he say?'
Standing in front of the door, his eyes all of sudden widened. He thought of something, something that could make her his.
He entered the room with a gloomy look and she was still in the dressing place but closed the curtain back. Her anxious toes playing with each other made him smile.
The moment he slid the curtain, Marissa looked surprised. She tiptoed, looking at his back and saw no one. "Ah thank God." He muttered that out of relief. "Did she go back?"
Nodding, he maintained his gloomy face that he put on the moment he slid the curtain.
"What is it?" Marissa moved forward. She was concerned about him. "Did she get mad at you because I am here?" She paused and waited at his answer but he just looked at her with silence. "That's why I wanted to explain but you stopped me and honestly…" She gulped before continuing, "your grandma's aura is scary…" She giggled in worry . It was true she was nervous facing his grandma earlier.
The silence made it awkward. His mouth was still closed and his eyes were gazing at her sharply. It was making her uncomfortable.
But the fact was, Blake was actually thinking of the best way to make her agree. Agree to the plan he was thinking about right now.
"Is she mad at you?" Marissa was still trying to make him talk but this time Blake shook his head lightly. "Don't tell me…" Her eyes rounded, "Is she disowning you?"
Blake was holding his laughter when he heard the question so he turned right away to not be caught.
Thinking that he had a hard time, Marissa was so worried. She rushed to turn him to face hrt, "Look…" She tiptoed to cup his cheeks, "Tell me what is it?"
"Ahhh…" He let out a long sigh. Actually it was because he managed to hold his laughter inside. "Nothing…you can't help me even if I tell you about it." He started his plan.
"How are you so sure about that? Let me hear it first, then we can decide if I can help or not." She put both of her hands on her waist to show her determination.
'Ah he is so cute I. God help me!'
"Come on, tell me…" She slapped his arm when he still didn't say anything.
Snapped from his thought with the slap, he frowned, rubbing his arm.
"Hurry up, tell me. What's wrong?" This was the third time she asked him.
He huffed, "She asked me to get married."
"And what's wrong with getting married?" She asked, clueless.
His brow furrowed, "Did you forget?" He tried to remind her what she forgot.
She gasped when she recalled. "Blake! What to do?"
Blake nodded hopelessly but in his heart he was glad it was going the way he wanted to. "You know, you are the only one that knows my secret. Since things have turned this way, could I ask for your help?" He did it! He planted the plan and hoped it worked well.
Marissa blinked her rounded, double eyelid eyes, "What help?"
