The man in a hoodie

At the center of spring haven is the Spring Haven Memorial Hospital, it's the only health center in the town. It's a little town so it was enough, it's a huge hospital that was built in the late 90s and since then it just needed renovations sometimes. It was a huge building of five storeys, It had up to a hundred rooms but it was rarely used because they don't get a lot of patients that come in like the big city just minor injuries that sometimes do not even require the patient to stay for a night. Most of the patient that stays over are mostly pregnant mothers that just given birth or are about to.

Tracy Beckham applied for work in the Spring Haven Memorial Hospital a few days before they moved into the town, she was a nurse even before she married Alvin Beckham. They were friends from childhood and Alvin Beckham knew that she has always dreamt of being a nurse, that's the only thing she wanted to be. Now they have Chandler, she helps out with some of the expenses when they were still in new york.

Tracy was not ready to stop working when they were moving to Spring Haven so she made some inquiries and applied for a position in the Spring Haven Memorial Hospital and they employed her, it's not like there were lots of burse in the town anyways so her chances were high.

Working at the hospital in spring haven was nothing like working in the hospital where she used to work back then in NYC, it was less work. When she was still in NYC they had to work until it was the end of their shift but here it's less work and more gossip or sleep, it's not like she was complaining but she was not used to that. She was only used to pulling bullets out of mostly teenagers that were involved in gang wars or something like that. She always felt this rush in her whole body when they had to run with a bleeding patient on a stretcher from the ambulance down to the operating room, she does not feel that here because she never had to save someone that's almost dying from a bullet or ghastly car accident. She liked how quiet and almost nothing happens here but deep down she subliminally wished that something might happen and this might be her lucky day.

It all started like a normal day, Tracy was just working from room to room checking the patients when she heard noises outside with police sirens, she rushed to the front door and there was the sheriff and a few of his officers with him and blood on their uniforms. She looked down and there was a man on the stretcher in front of them, there was a bleeding man that has already passed out due to the amount of blood he has lost already, she looked inside the ambulance that brought him and there was a lot of blood inside there too with a dead dog that was lying in its pool of blood. She felt a sense of deja vu, she had experienced something like this before but she can't remember, she knew she felt this danger lurking around.

"Did that dog do that to him?" Tracy had one of the nurses ask as they drove the man on the stretcher inside.

"Yeah I think it has rabies or something, the poor man had to shoot it a few times." The Sherriff who was running with them inside answered as he helped them with the stretcher.

The Sherriff had to stop when they reached the door to the room where they took the man, he can't follow them further, and that was when he took a look at himself. He has never had so much blood on his uniform before since he quit the military, he quit the military and moved to spring haven because he was tired of the violence but it looks like violence found him again. He knew that the man said he was bitten by the dog when they were inside the ambulance before he passed out but he felt like there was more to the story. The man was hunting in the woods close to where they found the other dead bodies so he felt like there was a connection between the two events.

The Sherriff has done his job by bringing the man to the hospital, the man was lucky that they were patrolling on the road beside the woods when they heard him screaming and wailing but now there is nothing else he could do for him so he wiped his bloody hand off his uniform and was ready to walk to his car outside and drive home to meet his beautiful wife and have a good shower.

"Sherriff" He heard someone call from behind so he turned sharply and it was Tracy.

"Nurse, what's the problem?" He asked as he moved closer to her.

"I want to tell you something about this man..." Tracy paused, she had no idea how to put what she wanted to say in a way that the Sherriff would understand and believe her. She looked at the Sherriff who has all his ears perked up ready to hear what she has to say.

The Sherriff took a good look at Tracy and was able to remember that he has seen her face before, she is the wife of Mr. Alvin Beckham and he knew this because she came to the station the day that his husband called them about the bodies in the woods and they had to take him and chandler to the station so they could write their statement in the station about what happened and how they found the bodies. The Sherriff could remember vividly that she was there later the same day but she was not wearing her white gown and her spec, she looked different now with them.

The Sherriff is already thinking that there might be a connection between the body in the woods and this man now and he has this feeling that Tracy might be able to tell him what it is, Tracy was still trying to say something but her face was telling him that she was not going to tell him what he was thinking she was supposed to say.

"I think it would be okay if you place some of your officers here to look after this man." That was all Tracy could say but she knew that won't be enough to convince the Sherriff to do as she said.

"Now why would I do that to a..." The Sherriff was interrupted by the voice of one of his officers over the walkie-talkie that hung on his shoulder.

"Sherriff I think you should come down here, there is a weird-looking man that is wearing a hoodie and..." The voice cut followed by screams of the officer and what sounded like the walkie-talkie was crushed.

"Officer Lance!" The Sherriff repeatedly yelled over the walkie-talkie on his shoulder, but no one replied.

The Sherriff looked at Tracy to know if she has an idea of what was going on, she did but she was not ready to say anything. The Sherriff had to run to the front desk to see what was happening, and Tracy followed him too.

The Sherriff walked slowly to the front desk and found the whole place was like a bomb hit it, he saw a few nurses at the front desk laying down unconscious and his officers too. He draws out his Glock from its holster on his waist and points it around, Tracy runs to where the Officers lay and checks their pulses.

"They're still breathing," Tracy confirms as the Sherriff who have been scanning the room with his Glock poised looked at her and nodded. Tracy checked the nurses too and they were still alive too.

"Who did this?" The Sherriff asked as he still walked around checking everywhere as he expected an answer from Tracy but she said nothing, Tracy looked at him too and knew she had to say something at least.

"We should check the man you brought in too," Tracy said as the Sherriff nodded as he walked back to where they came from while Tracy followed from behind.
