Chapter Nine

Adam looked at the little kitten, he sensed a spark within her, a spark that resonated with his own dark nature. It was as if she was awakening a part of him that he couldn't quite understand. He felt a strange connection to this bold little kitten, a connection that went beyond mere fascination.

Adam's inner demon stirred, intrigued by this newfound connection. It sensed something in Luna, something that screamed danger, it was alerting Adam.

Adam's inner demon raged out of control, its fury and bloodlust focused on the tiny, little creature hugging him. Adam's eyes flashed with a fierce, as his demon strained to break free.

But Adam knew he couldn't let that happen, Adam's inner demon growled in protest, but he forced himself to regain control. He couldn't let his darkness consume her.

Adam pushed back against his demon's influence, this was the first time he had disagreed with his demon over anything. His gaze softened, and he opened his eyes to find Luna still hugging him, oblivious to the turmoil within him.

He gently untangled himself from her embrace, his movements cautious not to startle her. Luna looked up, confusion etched on her face, as Adam took a step back, creating distance between them.

"Go back to sleep," He said, trying to understand what had just happened. But she looked up at him with confusion in her eyes. For a moment, he feared she was going to make a scene, but she suddenly smiled.

"Alright," She said in agreement, then sat on the bed, about to sleep, buy she stopped. "What about you?" She asked.

Adam gave her a questioning look, "What is it about me?" He asked.

"Is this room," She stopped, hesitating if she should tell him. Adam was running out of patience, his demon was coming back, this time it was strong and fierce, if he didn't leave at this moment, he could kill the little kitten.

He closed his eyes then entered her head, reading her thoughts, when he opened his eyes again, his eyes and turned fierce, but it was not him, his demon was at the verge of destroying him just to have this little kitten.

"Sleep," He said and turned his back on her, then left the room without saying anything. While at the front of the door, he felt a sharp pain in his chest, it was his demon.

He clutched to his chest tightly, then teleported to his secret dungeon, he rarely came here unless his demon was out of control. The dungeon was dark and quiet, Adam walked to the center of the dungeon and knelt on the floor with a loud thud, clutching his chest tightly.

"Stay calm!" He ordered, but his demon was not having it, Adam felt a sharp pain in his heart, he growled loudly as the pain spread through his body, he fell on the concrete ground, unable to move.

Suddenly, he felt it…

His demon…

It was forcing itself out…

Adam couldn't control it, no matter how he tried…

Adam's body contorted, his muscles straining as his demon finally burst forth from his chest. The air was filled with dark smoke as his demon surrounded the dungeon, its presence like a living shadow.

The demon was a wisp of smoke which molded itself into a human, but was enveloped in a dark smoke, its eyes blazed with fury, fixed on the spot where Adam was lying helplessly.

"You are weak," It said, Adam frowned.

"I should be the one saying that to you," Adam replied.

"Why didn't you let me devour her? Why are you protecting her?" It asked, Adam's brow furrowed.

"Because she's mine," Adam snapped.

The demon let out a deafening roar, its voice like thunder. "She has to die!" It said, it's voice echoing in the dungeon.

But Adam was quick to react, "Not now," Adam snapped as he managed to stand up.

"I don't need you to tell me when she dies," It replied, Adam scoffed, then his lips curled up into a smirk.

"I am the king here, and whatever I say, is what you must do," Adam ordered, the demon was stubborn as it tried to teleport, but Adam already knew this, he quickly created a barrier, trapping he and the demon inside it.

The demon looked back at Adam, its eyes flashing with rage. "You cannot control me! And you won't tell me what to do!" it bellowed.

"Really?" Adam asked as his eyes blazed with anger and excitement, seemed he had to teach this disrespectful demon a lesson, "Then you have to fight me, before you can get to her!" he growled, his voice low and deadly.

The demon took this as a challenge and lunged towards Adam, then the two engaged in a fierce, mental battle, their dark powers clashing like titans as the dungeon trembled violently, Adam's demon raged and bucked, but Adam held firm, his will unyielding.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Adam emerged victorious. His demon let out a defeated roar, "This is not over yet!"

"I am the king, and you can not win against me, make sure you think about this before trying to fight me," Adam said in a cold but mocking voice.

"You don't know the danger you are putting yourself in by keeping her alive, she is-" The demon couldn't talk as Adam had seized it from talking. It let out an angry howl.

"Don't talk about my little kitten in that way," Adam said, he stared directly at the demon, controlling it, he opened his hands wide, whispering, then the demon was back into his body.

"I will have her," he whispered, his voice dripping with anticipation. "On the ninth night of the wedding, she will have the same fate as the other princess who had come, and then, the whole world will be at my feet,"

His demon was calm, it seemed to have agreed with Adam, "Stay calm, and don't ever try to hurt her," Adam said, his voice light and sounding playful, but dangerous.
