Chapter Ten: Graduation (Teenage Diaries: The Final Part)

Graduating years eight and nine was good but as school had gone on, it only got harder. Even though school had progressed and it was getting harder, it didn't stop me from studying hard. Other than getting suspended or almost expelled, I enjoyed school to some extent. My favourite subjects were obviously anything to do with writing such as English... Yeah, English was about the only favourite subject of mine at school besides music as I could not get into the subject because of not studying it from year eight onwards. Oh, and I did enjoy home economics when I started that and photography was another favourite subject besides English. Two Thousand and Eighteen, year twelve. Years eight, nine, ten and eleven had been completed therefore year twelve had approached us and man was it fucking hard? At the time I started year twelve I was no longer living at my mum and step-dad's place, I was now residing in a group home where there were support workers also known as carers. The home was in Christie Downs and it was a house with two sides to it: One end was for all the boys while the other end was for the girls. The boys were forbidden to cross their side of the house. I was on the boys side and had met the housemate, for a few months of my year twelve I resided here in Christie Downs. This place in Christie Downs was through a company called Junction Australia who are really good. Year twelve for me was okay as I was linked in with what Willunga High School called The Learning Centre where there were SSO's, please don't ask what the fuck it stands for because I have no fucking clue. But they were there to help us with our work. The manager of The Learning Centre decided to modify my SACE for some subjects which was annoying but in some aspects it was good while other aspects it was not so good. The good aspects were that modifying some of my subjects had made them somewhat easier but they operated as a normal class would operate. The assignments I was given were easier than everyone else's assignments even though my assignments were the same, just modified, easier and better explained for me to understand. Now besides studying hard for my year twelve, the teachers had fun finding the smallest thing to suspend me for. To this day I am still surprised and shocked to know that I had passed and successfully completed my year twelve despite the many, many suspensions the teachers had made. The things that I hated about school were getting picked on a lot.... Yeah that was about all that I hated even though I am used to being bullied on a regular basis but it was not fun. No one likes or enjoys being bullied. I hated being suspended on a regular basis because in the end it just got ridiculous and out of hand, they were running out of ideas and reasons to suspend me so it also got annoying as fuck because I missed a lot of my studies. I am lucky to have passed years eight to twelve successfully despite being suspended twenty four seven. I didn't have many friends but I did have a small group of friends but they often ditched me for other things which I get as I'm not a likeable person and that's okay with me. I'm not born to be liked or to entertain those around me. I was born to live my life the way I want but even that was difficult to do with so many rules and restrictions put in place. Days passed eventually days that passed had become weeks in which had passed. School was school and life was life. I eventually got kicked out of the placement in Christie Downs before my year twelve formal. As k mentioned I shared with other males, well one night one of my housemates had let me have his Xbox One in my room with his controller that was all fine until he decided to change his mind and took his controller then ran to his room and locked it on me. Like why let me use your Xbox One if you're just going to be a cunt and take the controller. This really pissed me off so much, the carer woke up and I explained it the very next day I got kicked out. I moved to Hackham West under a new company called Baptist Care SA where I had the house to myself... Well not entirely to myself because I still had carers all day every day. I'm seventeen at the time yet I had childish rules, I won't list them all but one was if I didn't sleep the night before then the next day I was not allowed to go out, another rule was the carers followed me every-fucking-where even when I went out to spend time with my girlfriend(s) they hauled up my fucking arse like black sheep. What made it even creepier was they stayed a certain distance behind while we walked in front. Before I finally had enough and put my foot down, that's when certain rules changed after I had put my foot down. Rules such as; Carers were to no longer follow me every where therefore I could go out but had to call my carers every two fucking hours or else they would report me to Missing Persons. Oh, and they had stopped transporting me because they claimed I had no NDIS funding when I apparently did. And I had to sit in the backseat like a child. The first ever payment I got from Centrelink, which was my Disability Support Pension, was a thousand dollars. Now the first thing I went and bought was my formal suit straight up. It was my first item I bought. I really loved it so much. It Cost me just over $100. That was that. And the formal approached us fast. It was at Serafino Wines in Mclaren Vale. It was really good although I had no one to go with until one of my friends rocked up and she had no one so she asked me and I of course said yes. Food was good, drinks were good, memories were made and photos were taken. I didn't stay for the dance as my date left earlier on so I left after dinner because I saw no point in me staying. Formal nights had been completed and spent well, I would say so therefore my days went back to the usual: School and outside school life which both were pretty average. Next was my eighteenth birthday, now this is going to sound weird but it was spent at my favourite childhood playground in Port Noarlunga... The Wooden Playground to make it sound even more weird I rocked up in a limousine. We had a barbecue with some friends as well as spending it with my mother at her mother's, which was my grandmother's. We had dinner there and I received presents but I had chosen to leave early. What cheered me up was my next door neighbour, Pennii and her friends who were planning a surprise... Got attacked with silly string and got given a special necklace with my now old number engraved on it along with a card. They really cheered me up. My birthday was nearly over after my neighbours had surprised me. I spent the evening at my grandma's and went to the wooden playground for a barbecue. I'd say it was a pretty average birthday. Formal and my eighteenth had been completed now graduation had been approaching us, it was set for November 1st, 2018 at Willunga High School. Now everyone had exams whereas I didn't. I had modified SACE and two: most subjects I studied didn't require exams. So that was good. Another thing the school had done was a movie day at Wallis Cinema at Noarlunga where we saw 'Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them' which was alright, everyone applauded at the end which was annoying as I didn't understand the point of it. It's a movie not a play. Graduation had arrived and my partner had at the time had attended with me as well as my carer and my two sisters . We captured some photos of us together. Once in the assembly hall I was seated away from my invited guests and seated in my homeroom and we had begun the wait for our names to be called before presenting on stage to accept our awards. Headed back to our seats. Once graduation was over we all headed on home, of course my partner at the time, my carer and I bussed it back down south. It had begun to storm: rain, thunder and lightning. Once we had arrived back in Noarlunga, my carer had made my partner go home on her own which I found quite rude and disrespectful to be bluntly honest and I obviously could not do much as the carers had so much power over me. One time I went and saw Justice Crew live with my partner on their birthday which was good besides the screaming girls. Well Two Thousand and Eighteen was coming to a close as it is now December Two Thousand and Eighteen. Two Thousand and Nineteen had brought many surprises for me. Two Thousand and Eighteen was a good year for me as I finished my school and completed successfully and I could not be happier.
