"We should do this again tomorrow or anytime, well…that's if you aren't busy." Jayce pressed his lips into a thin line and scratched the back of his head awkwardly.
"Okay," Elizabeth replied. She'd be free tomorrow, so there was no need to decline his offer. She flashed a small smile at him and turned to leave, but he gently grabbed her arm to stop her from leaving. She slowly turned to him and raised her brows in question.
"I'm sorry," he apologized for the umpteenth time.
Elizabeth sighed. She turned her head to the side and chuckled in amusement. "You don't trust me? I said I understand why you left, I'd have done the same thing if I were in your shoes." In some way, she did say the truth. She had once wondered if she'd have done the same thing if she were him. She wouldn't consider anybody's feelings and wouldn't even have the thought of coming back to find anyone, so in some ways, he really was better than her.
