I looked at him in the rearview mirror. "How?"
"You just need to use your Blue Blood to activate it, If you don't have enough energy, it won't work, or you might accidentally manifest something you don't want."
"Phew..." I let out a sigh of relief. "I'm glad you said that. I was about to let my intrusive thoughts win and imagine the world ending."
"No!" Everyone in the car shouted in unison, their voices filled with alarm.
"Ahaha, just kidding!" I laughed, relieved to see their reactions. The tension in the car eased, replaced by a lighthearted chuckle from Dove.
We pulled into the motel parking lot, the two SUVs coming to a stop side-by-side.
As I stepped out of the car, I turned to IM, who was walking beside me. "You've got good taste in clothes," I commented, gesturing towards his stylish outfit.
"Hmm?" He looked down at himself, then back at me with a smirk. "I simply chose what I saw you admiring in your online shopping carts: baggy sweaters and loose-fitting shirts."
I nodded, realizing once again how closely he had been observing me. But a new thought surfaced in my mind. How could I convince my parents of his existence? And how could I possibly live with him under the same roof without raising suspicion?
"Huh?! Xian has Imagination Manifestation?!" Yolan's voice suddenly boomed across the parking lot, interrupting my thoughts.
Both IM and I jumped in surprise, turning to see Yolan rushing towards us, her eyes wide with excitement.
"You can really do that?!" she exclaimed.
"I-I guess so..." I replied, still a little overwhelmed by the revelation of my power.
IM stepped forward, eager to explain further. "As long as he can imagine it in great detail, it will manifest. The more specific and precise his visualization, the more accurate the manifestation."
Yolan's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "So, could he imagine a giant motorcycle?" she asked, her voice filled with excitement.
"He could, if he understands the inner workings of a motorcycle, the intricate details of its design, and how the engine functions." IM replied.
Damn, That's how it works. I can create anything I can imagine, as long as I understand how it works.
I thought, my head spinning with the possibilities.
"Xian will learn quickly," Yolan assured me, giving me a reassuring smile. "Right, Xian?"
I nodded, a surge of determination filling me. I was ready to embrace this power, to explore its limits, and to use it for good.
Later that night, we all gathered in a secluded area near the beach, the darkness hiding us from prying eyes. The air was thick with anticipation as I prepared to test my newfound ability.
"So, how about a little demonstration, Xian?" Dove asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
I nodded, taking a deep breath and closing my eyes. I raised my hand, palm facing the ground, and focused my mind.
"Chicken grill," Ratu suggested, her voice filled with a sudden craving.
Chicken grill... I pictured the skewers of marinated meat sizzling on a charcoal grill, the fragrant aroma filling the air.
Splash!
I opened my eyes, and a small fire had erupted from the spot where my finger pointed. A perfectly cooked chicken satay skewer hovered above the flames, its juices glistening in the firelight.
"Woah!" Everyone gasped in amazement, their eyes wide with wonder.
I grinned, savoring the taste of the perfectly cooked chicken. "It seems my power is a bit more... versatile than I initially thought," I remarked, a hint of pride in my voice.
Dove's expression remained cautious. "While it's impressive," she said, her voice laced with concern, "we need to be careful. This power could be dangerous if it falls into the wrong hands."
I nodded in agreement, understanding her apprehension. "Don't worry," I reassured her, "I won't let that happen."
Vill, who had been watching me intently, spoke up. "Alright, I think that's enough for tonight. Let's head back to the motel and get some rest."
I looked at the fire, still burning brightly on the sand. "What about the fire and the chicken?" I asked.
"Extinguish the fire," Vill instructed. "And make the chicken cool enough to eat."
I concentrated, focusing my intention on the flames.
Fire... extinguish!
The flames flickered and died, leaving behind a pile of glowing embers.
"Heh, already mastered it?" IM's voice echoed in my mind, a hint of amusement in his tone. "I told you it was easy."
Ratu, who had been eyeing the chicken satay hungrily, spoke up. "Can you make it not so hot, Xian?"
I looked at her and nodded, then focused my intention on the chicken.
Don't be hot when Ratu touches it, I thought.
I looked at Ratu again. "Go ahead," I said. "It should be cool enough now."
Ratu cautiously poked the chicken skewer, a relieved expression washing over her face. "It's cool! Thanks, Xian," she said, picking up the plate and heading towards her room. "I'll eat this in my room."
"Yeah, just take it," I said, waving her off.
Everyone else began to disperse, heading to their respective rooms for some much-needed rest. I turned to IM, who was watching me with a thoughtful expression.
"So, to my room?" I asked, anticipating the conversation to come.
He nodded. "I have much to tell you," he said, his voice a low rumble.
I nodded back, a sense of anticipation building within me. We walked towards my room, the silence broken only by the soft padding of our footsteps on the carpeted floor.
As we entered my motel room, I closed the door behind us, the silence broken only by the faint hum of the air conditioner. IM leaned against the wall, his arms crossed, his expression unreadable in the dim light.
"So," I began, my voice hesitant, "you said you had a lot to tell me."
IM nodded, his gaze piercing into mine. "Yes," he confirmed. "But first, we need to address the issue of your... transformation."
I frowned, unsure of what he meant. "Transformation?"
"The way your body reacted to the power surge when you unsealed your eyes," IM explained. "It was... unexpected."
