Family Gather II

Yolan nodded in agreement. "We have to keep searching," she said. "There must be other clues, other pieces of the puzzle scattered throughout history."

Vill, always the voice of reason, added, "We need to be careful. If those who sealed our ancestors are still out there, they won't want us to regain our powers."

Irune, chimed in, "But we have each other now. We're not alone in this. Together, we can overcome any obstacle."

The conversation shifted, and I couldn't help but ask, "What about you guys? Have you already unsealed your powers?"

"We were born with our eyes unsealed," Dove explained. "It was just you who was..." She paused, searching for the right word. "Different."

So everyone else had already unlocked their powers. A pang of envy mixed with curiosity welled up within me.

"What are your powers?" I asked, eager to learn more about their abilities.

A hush fell over the car as everyone exchanged glances. It was clear that this was a topic they hadn't discussed with an outsider before.

Finally, Yolan spoke up. "I can manipulate thing, I can blend a metal to some like sword or kinda thing."

"That's so cool!" I exclaimed, my eyes widening in amazement.

Aca giggled. "My power is a bit more... unusual, I can communicate with animals. All kinds of animals, from insects to mammals. I can understand their thoughts and feelings, and even influence their behavior to some degree."

"That's incredible!" I exclaimed, imagining the possibilities of such a power.

Irune beamed. "I have the power of healing, I can mend wounds…. It's a gift, but also a burden."

Vill, who had been silent until now, finally spoke up. "My power is the most... dangerous, I can see the future. But not just any future. I see the paths of death and destruction. It's a heavy burden to bear, but I use it to guide our family and protect those we care about."

I was speechless. Each of their powers was unique and awe-inspiring, a testament to the extraordinary lineage we shared. But it also filled me with a sense of responsibility, a realization that I, too, had a role to play in this hidden world.

"As for me..." Dove began, her voice hesitant, "I don't fully understand my power yet. But whenever I blink with a certain intention, the people I look at... well, they faint."

"Aha!" Vill exclaimed. "That's why her fans call it the 'beauty wink'."

"Huh? What does that mean?" I asked, confused.

"We were at a cosplay event once," Vill explained, "and Dove accidentally used her power on some of her fans. They all fainted, and people started calling it the 'beauty wink', because they thought it was her charm that overwhelmed them. It was hilarious!"

"Stop it..." Dove groaned, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

"Ah, I remember that!" Aca chimed in, giggling. "It was the time you wore that mermaid costume, right?"

"It was at that cosplay event that we first met," Aca added, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "Dove was dressed as a mermaid, and she accidentally zapped a whole group of guys who were trying to take pictures with her."

Dove groaned again, burying her face in her hands. "Can we please change the subject?"

I chuckled, finding her embarrassment endearing. "So, what other powers are there?" I asked, eager to learn more about my family's unique abilities.

Yolan cleared her throat. "There's telepathy, telekinesis, precognition, and even the ability to control elements like fire and water, But those are rare and often manifest later in life."

"Wow," I breathed, my mind racing with the possibilities. "So, what does it mean to be 'Unveiled'?"

Vill leaned forward, her expression serious. "It means that we have a deeper understanding of the world, a connection to the unseen forces that shape reality. But it also means that we have a responsibility to use our powers for good, to protect the balance between the human world and the Otherworld."

"The Otherworld?" I repeated, the word sending a shiver down my spine.

"Yes," Dove said softly. "It's the realm where spirits and other supernatural beings reside. It's a place of great power, but also great danger."

I nodded, absorbing the information. It was a lot to take in, but I was determined to learn as much as I could. The world I thought I knew was crumbling around me, replaced by a new reality filled with magic, mystery, and untold possibilities.

"But we're still human, Our powers manifest through our eyes, but our bodies are still vulnerable. However, if we're lucky, we can summon our Harbingers to protect us. You know, like those masked heroes who transform." Vill added, her voice reassuring.

"Ah..." I nodded, understanding dawning on me. "So, who here can do that?"

Silence fell over the group, each member exchanging uneasy glances.

"None of us," Dove finally admitted. "We don't know how to do it."

The car fell silent. A sense of unease settled over me.

If none of them could summon their Harbingers, how could I possibly learn?

"Don't worry, Xian," Irune said, her voice soft and reassuring. "We'll figure it out together. We always do."

I nodded, grateful for her unwavering optimism. "But how?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper.

"We'll start by researching our family history," Vill suggested. "There must be clues hidden in the stories and artifacts passed down through generations."

"And we'll train our powers," Yolan added. "The stronger we become, the easier it will be to access our full potential."

Dove nodded in agreement. "We'll help you every step of the way, Xian," she said, her eyes meeting mine with a warmth that melted away some of my fear. "You're not alone in this."

I felt a surge of warmth and gratitude. Despite the uncertainty that lay ahead, I knew I wasn't alone. I had a family, a community of Unveiled, who were willing to guide me and support me on this journey of self-discovery.

"Well for now, let's just try to live our lives as normally as possible, okay!?" Irune said, her cheerful voice breaking the tension.
