Chapter Seventeen

The next morning, Nora got a call from a strange number. She grunted in irritation as she stretched her tired muscles to grab her phone next to the shelf beside her bed. She checked the time on her phone and it was exactly 5 am. She unlocked her phone and immediately her phone causing her to almost drop her phone in shock. "This better be worth it or else..." She calmed herself as she swipe right to receive the call. Gently placing the phone to her ear, she answered, "Hello."

"Can you please consider?" The voice asked.

Nora glanced at her phone to see if she perhaps missed the name of the caller but there wasn't any name. "Who are you?"

"It's Diego."

"How on earth did you get..." She paused when she realized only one person is capable of doing this. "...What do you want?"

"Can you please consider?"

"Consider what?" Nora asked in annoyance. "Diego or whatsoever you call yourself, it's five in the morning and trying to get some beauty sleep so do me this one favor and leave me the hell alone."

"one hundred dollars." He said.

Nora was about to end the call when she heard the amount he was offering. "What?" She asked.

"Too small? How about two hundred dollars just to get you to say yes?"

"What?" Nora asked again, not because the offer was little, but it was great for just a yes.

"Two hundred and fifty dollars is all I can offer right not. What do you say?"

Nora couldn't count how many times she blinked and pinched herself thinking she was a dream or something but when she heard his voice asking if she was there, she knew it was real. "Um...I have to think..." Think about what? She heard a voice in her ask. This is a golden opportunity and you sre just going to let it slip off your finger just like that? I thought you were smarter than this. ",,You know what, I accept." She answered.

A chuckle was heard on the other side of the phone and she knew he was happy. "For real?"

"Yeah. I feel the offer is um...irresistible."

"Thanks. I will come pick you up tomorrow by eight." Before Nora could say anything, Diego ended the call.

Nora dropped the phone back on the shelf as she thought about her decision. "Tell me, I ain't going to regret this later, please." She prayed. "Just wait till I get you for this, Sara."

Diego couldn't keep his happiness in check so he decided to share the good news to Kelvin. He went to Kelvin's room and woke up the sleeping king by whispering into his ears. Due to the unplatable sound he heard, Kelvin woke up. He glared at Diego who was smiling from ear to ear. "This better be good." He said in a drowsy voice.

"Oh! It's more than good." Diego answered with a smile. Kelvin stared at him waiting for him to complete his story. "She accepted."

Kelvin gave him a weird look before laying back on his bed with the pillow covering his ears. "Get lose Diego!"

"Shouldn't you be happy for me?"

Kelvin threw the pillows at him with a smile on his face. "Get out!"

"I know you are just pissed that you have lost this round." Diego stuck out his tongue at him before leaving his room.

"Why didn't I ask him who she was?" He asked himself. "Well, I guess I will see her tomorrow then." he placed the pillow on his face but took it off again. He couldn't help but get curious as to whom the girl is. "I guess, I will just have to find out tomorrow." He was finally able to get some sleep.
