Chapter 48 Nicole Met Grandpa

Eric watched Frederick patiently pick up food for Brittany and ask her what she liked to eat. Eric asked calmly, "Girl, what's your mother's name?"

"Jenny," Brittany replied quickly.

"What's your father's name?"

Brittany thought for a while and said, "I don't know. Mommy said Daddy is blessing me in heaven."

Edith was afraid that Edith might say something wrong, so she explained, "Her father is indeed gone. Her mother was pregnant with her and raised the child by herself. Brittany has never met her father and doesn't know his name. Let's change the subject."

Adults would tacitly avoid poking others' scars. Eric always felt something was wrong, but he couldn't tell it exactly.

Brittany didn't care about these things. She had developed a cheerful temperament under the company of Jenny and Chuck. "Chuck said the man Mommy likes is our Daddy."

Eric asked again, "Oh, do you have a brother?"
