When it Falls!

This is gonna be a sequel to my Doctor Who fan fiction with elements of RWBY, Madoka Magica, Symphogear, and SAO in there. It will have me, the Doctor, obviously, the companion, whoever it might be. It will also have characters from RWBY, Madoka Magica, Symphogear, and SAO in there, all of us interacting with each other. God knows what will happen in there, the hijinks, running, and traveling continues. I don't even know, but if I know one thing...it's gonna be awesome.

A Day in the Death

"Okay, let's do this one last time. My name is Jared Shay. I'm a time traveler. And for the last five years, I've been defending the Earth. I assume you guys know the rest. There are loads of things I helped the Doctor do. Launching a missile to Downing Street, draining the River Thames, making people have faith in the Time Lord. And then I kept saving the world again, and again, and again, and again. Hell, I tried saving Beacon Academy for crying out loud. But then some bad things happened, I lost Rose Tyler, Pyrrha Nikos, and Penny Polendina." Jared said, walking around the room he is in. "But there's also some good to counteract the bad too, I met a lot of new friends too. Madoka Kaname, Sayaka Miki, Homura Akemi, Mami Tomoe, and Kyoko Sakura. That's not even the half of it! Of the people that I've met. I've done a lot worse over the years. But after everything, I still love being a defender of the Earth. I'm close enough to being considered an Avenger, who wouldn't want that? No matter how many losses I've faced over the years, even for years to come. I'm always gonna find ways to be my happy, outgoing, and caring self. Because the only thing standing between the Earth and the end of it is me. I'm one of the heroes the Earth can rely on, and you're looking at him."

(Jared's POV)

Mami's house…

"So, what was it like at Torchwood?" Sayaka asked.

"Besides Owen dying, tough." I said, eating a bit of Mami's cake.

"It was interesting." Mami said, agreeing with me.

"How so?" Homura asked.

"For starters, Owen beat Death." I said, remembering what happened. "And it was a bit after the Mayfly situation too."

"Mayfly?" Homura asked.

"It's a long story."

"Tell us." Kyoko said, a Pocky in her mouth. "What happened with the Mayflies can't be that bad."

"It was pretty bad." I said, sadly. "But none of us can age. Owen did come back to life a couple days ago. And…"

"And?" Madoka asked.

"I don't know. I thought I would be ready for this, to talk again."

"You're always able to do. We get how you feel. Just ask."

"Can we talk?" I asked, standing up, and feeling like something is shifting in the background.

"Sure!" Madoka said, happily.

"It wasn't that hard, now was it?" Mami asked.

"No." I said, playing around with my hands. "Where's Nagisa?"

"She's getting us some food." Kyoko said. "With Yuma."

"Yuma? Who's that?" I asked, sitting back down.

"Jared…" Homura said, walking up to me. "What point in time are you really from?"

"His whole timeline is a mess." Madoka said, placing a hand on top of mine. "I can feel it. Something's been interfering with it."

"That would explain why we haven't been meeting him in sync. Tell us where you've been."

"Doctor Owen Harper, Torchwood Officer five six five, I'm relieving you of your position." Jack said, in a flashback.

Jack's office - memory…

"Bollocks. I'm sorry, Jack, this is bollocks." Owen said, angrily.

"Hand in your weapon and your security pass." Jack said.

"But why? I'm fine."

"Three days ago, you died. We need to examine you. We need to find out what you are. We need to be certain you're okay."

"Yeah, well, it almost sounds as if you care. Well done."

"Until I'm confident you're fit for duty, Martha Jones will replace you as Torchwood's new Medical Officer."

"What are we gonna do?" Hibiki asked. "Are we gonna stop them?"

"We can't." I said, squeezing Hibiki's hand. "I wish that we could."

"I never realized how older you look." Mami said, looking at me. "Your eyes. This is definitely the you after the Year that Never Was."

"And the me that was fighting that rocky Grimm with Team RNJR later on in your time stream. That was the younger me."

"Was that around the time you became immortal?" Hibiki asked. "Is it?"

"A little bit before. In a village. I just forgot when. It's been a long week, girls."

"And what the hell am I supposed to do in the meantime?" Owen asked.

"We always need someone to make coffee." Jack said. "And Mami could need a break from making tea and sweets."

"Oh, no."

Hub - memory…

"What's your plan of helping out Owen?" Hibiki asked.

"I don't know." I said, sipping on a cup of tea. "I've been immortal for a while now. I just don't know what to do."

"You've been repeating yourself over and over again." Mami said.

"Why not take it easy?" Hibiki asked.

"Easy for you to say." I said, crossing my arms. "You have your down to Earth connection. That being Miku."

"And you have us!"

"True. But I think Team RWBY makes me remember what it means to be human. I miss them."

"You'll see them again. We know you do." Mami said.

"I didn't realise we were in competition." Ianto said.

"Oh, come on. Even Tosh had more of a life than you used to. And now you're always out on missions, you're shagging Jack and I'm stuck here making the coffee." Owen said, angrily.

"It's not like that, me and Jack..."

"You and Jack. Gwen's getting married. Martha's got her bloke. Jared's having fun saving the world with magical girls. God, even Tosh had Tommy. This is really shit."

"We've all gone through shit, I've seen you dissect alien corpses. I've seen you save so many lives. Are you really going to let this beat you?"

Later, I am playing Splatoon 2 on my Nintendo Switch. I am doing some Turf Wars with the Symphogear users and Miku. While Mami is getting an overhead view of the action through her Switch. I looked over to see that Martha has Owen running on the treadmill. Then he lifts weights.

"So, you're choosing me over the boyfriend?" Owen asked.

"Yeah, that's it. You really don't need to worry, you know, I don't want your job." Martha said.

"Yes, I know. You just find me irresistible."

"Oh, yeah, that's it. Every morning I wake up and think of ways to get you alone like this. There is no sign of any muscle decay. You're in great shape, as ever."

"Hmm. No use coming onto me, Jones. I'm a changed man."

"And er, no stiffening anywhere?"

"So, Owen is basically that one girl you told us about." Mami said. "Clara."

"Clara Oswald?" I asked, smiling. "Yeah, he definitely is."

"But Owen's more awesome, yeah?" Hibiki asked.

"Clara...she was the reason why I fell in love with this universe in the first place."

"Hi, Martha, Jared, Hibiki, Mami. Meeting in the boardroom. Can you lot come down?" Gwen asked, over the speaker.

"You'd better go with your friends, Doctor." Owen said.

"What about you?" Martha asked.

"Cappuccino with chocolate sprinkles."

"What?"

"That's what you drink, isn't it?"

Conference room - memory…

"Henry John Parker, used to be a looker. Now he's eighty odd and even I have my limits. Your basic millionaire collector of alien hoo-hah." Jack said.

Owen enters with the tray of drinks, "Didn't we file him in the Mostly Harmless category?"

"So, what's the problem?" Martha asked.

"I detected this at five seventeen this morning. Parker's house. There's an energy spike coming from it. I've never seen anything like it before." Tosh said.

"Yeah, this isn't my peppermint mocha." I said, looking down at my mug. "I believe I have your English breakfast, Mami."

"That you do." Mami said, as I swapped my mug with hers.

"Is this bubble tea?" Tosh asked, looking down at her mug. "Who ordered this?"

"Oh, that's for Hibiki. I said, and I watched the rest of Torchwood swap mugs to get the right drinks. "I didn't know what she was in the mood for."

"Okay. So, the big question is, what's our Mister Parker gone and found this time?" Gwen asked.

"Why? Is he a threat?" Hibiki asked, sipping on her bubble tea. "Just the right amount of sugar."

"Well, he hasn't been up until now. He's a bit Howard Hughes. We know he's there, we know he's not a threat, but, as the story goes, he hasn't left the house since his wife died. Nobody's seen him since 1986." Gwen said, recapping what happened.

"We've been monitoring Parker for ages. There's nothing to be scared of is there?" Owen asked.

"Mami, I love your tea and cakes." I said, placing my mocha on the table. "But I needed a break from it."

"So, you went with coffee?" Mami asked.

"Yeah. Coffee is like my alternative solution to tea. Like how smoothies are my alternative to milkshakes."

"Yeah. Hibiki said, smiling. "It's nice to have some."

"Okay, meanwhile, back at Torchwood. Alien energy pulse. We've got to check this Parker out, okay? Tosh, can you get me a complete schematic of the house? Ianto, find out exactly what he's got. Get me an inventory of everything that he's bought over the last ten years. Martha, can you get a hold of his medical history?" Gwen asked.

"Sure." Martha said.

"Okay, let's get to it, guys."

I am walking out of the room with the rest of Torchwood, Martha, Hibiki, and Mami. Mami noticed that Owen is still in the room.

"I know you like my singing." Hibiki said.

"I do." I said, happily. "It's good."

"Really?"

"Really."

Mami's house…

"So, who is he?" Sayaka asked.

"He's someone that…" I said, playing with my hands a bit.

"Just keep telling the story." Kyoko said, a Pocky in her mouth. "I don't want you to spoil it."

(Open POV)

Autopsy room - memory...

"I know you are." Martha said.

"So why are you doing my job?" Owen asked.

"Because Gwen asked me to."

"That's not what I mean."

"Because you died, and because you need help. That's not a bad thing. Well, it is a bad thing that you died, obviously, but it's not bad that you need help, if you know what I mean?"

"You're kinda cute when you babble."

"And you're kinda cute when you're not chucking a scalpel about."

"Martha and Owen make a good couple." Hibiki said, happily.

"But so does Tosh and Owen." Jared said, smiling. "I prefer the latter though."

"Don't they sort of miss each other?" Mami asked.

Owen is holding the scalpel with the blade against his palm. It doesn't bleed, of course.

"You've sliced your hand open." Martha said, and she noticed Jared and the two super powered girls in the room. "I can see you."

"Owen, are you okay?" Hibiki asked, running up to Owen.

"I'm fine." Owen said. "Really, Hibiki, I'm fine."

"How's your hand?" Mami asked.

"It's okay." Owen said, picking up a needle and thread nearby.

"The wound's not going to heal, so, you're going to have to re-stitch it every week or so. At least you don't need anaesthetic." Martha said.

"Yeah, I can't feel anything. I can't feel the needle or thread. I can't feel your hands on mine. Yet, I can touch things, I can hold them. I know they're there, but I just can't feel anything. I'm numb."

"Do you see why Jack's worried? Bruises won't heal, bones won't mend. You're fragile."

"Yeah, well, I'd better get used to doing things myself." Owen said, taking over the stitching.

Mami's house…

"Did Owen get out alright?" Madoka asked, sipping a cup of tea.

"It sounds like he's a bit of a jerk." Sayaka said, sadly.

"He isn't." Jared said.

"And how do you know that?" Kyoko asked. "And why don't you know who Yuma is?"

"Am I supposed to?"

"Well, yes."

"I don't. So…"

"Um, who are you?" Homura asked.

Jack's office - memory…

Another coffee run.

"Give me something to do." Owen said.

"You know I can't. Rules and regulations." Jack said.

"Fine. I might as well go home then."

"Owen doesn't seem like he's adjusting to this life well." Mami said, sipping her cup of tea.

"He isn't." Jared said, grabbing Hibiki's hand. "What a shame."

"But can't we help him?" Hibiki asked.

"Jack, I'm dead. I'm permanently chilled. You know, you, Jared, and magical girls like Mami get to live forever. I get to die forever. It's funny that." Owen said.

Owen's apartment - memory…

"Oh, hello! Welcome to To Buy Or Not To Buy, the property show that lets you indulge in your long…" Someone on TV said.

Owen mutes the sound and turns on his iPod, then empties the refrigerator and the bathroom cabinet. All the food and toiletries in the place are no longer required. His boredom is broken by the sound of the doorbell. It is Tosh, Yukine, and Tsubasa with Jubilee Pizza.

"Do you mind if we eat? We're starving." Tosh said.

"We didn't eat since we stopped some Noise earlier." Tsubasa said. "It was a long day."

"It was." Yukine said. "Can we eat? I need a couple slices."

"No, help yourselves. So, Jack and Jared asked you lot to come round, did they? Talk to Owen. Get him to open up, godammit." Owen said, angrily.

"You haven't changed, have you. It's all about Owen. We've actually had a hell of a morning, you know. Do you have a…" Tosh said, annoyed.

"Top drawer." Owen said, as Tosh gets the bottle opener.

"So, Jack calls me in at five this morning. He could have waited until I got in, but no, strange energy spike and it's let's get Tosh in. Oh, and when Gwen got in, first thing she did? Say sorry for not asking me to be bridesmaid. I mean, me, a bridesmaid?" Tosh asked.

Mami's home...

"Gwen's getting married." Sayaka said, happily. "Tell her congrats."

"At this point in time, she probably is married." Kyoko said, shrugging her shoulders.

"But marrying Rhys?"

"I think it can work." Madoka said, smiling. "They make a good couple."

"You haven't met them." Jared said, crossing his arms. "Rhys is a bit of an idiot."

"Um, how can you say that?" Homura asked.

"Because Gwen finds him amusing. And she loves him."

"How can she love an idiot?"

"It's okay." Mami said, sipping her cup of tea. "Your memory recollection of this story isn't accurate."

Owen's apartment - memory…

"So, Jared brought us here, why?" Yukine asked. "Don't we have to get back to Japan?"

"We do." Tsubasa said. "But he never specified when we should get back."

"I hope it's soon. Because he's making he wait out here for the action. Like the idiot he is."

"Yeah."

The two looked over at Tosh to see that she is still rambling on to Owen.

"A message from the stars, and guess what? It's Croatian. I ran it through the language translator and it's flipping Croatian." Tosh said.

"Why are you here with two users of Symphogear, Tosh?" Owen asked.

"We want to help you." Tsubasa said, looking at Owen. "You're someone who needs help."

"And how are you going to do that? How are you three going to help me? I mean, am I going to be a new special project?"

"Come on, Owen, we just…" Tosh said.

"Tosh, that's not why you're here is it? For some reason you want me. You know, I don't know why, but you always have. You're always looking at me, watching me screw all those other women, your heart breaking and now it's different, because I'm safe now, aren't I? And it's all cosy and it's romantic and isn't it beautiful, you know?" Owen asked.

"You can say what you like. I'm not leaving you."

Yukine's phone started ringing and she answered it.

"Hello?" Yukine asked.

"Owen is about to do something crazy." Jared said, his voice coming out of Yukine's phone.

"Like what?"

"Let's say he is about to go into Mermaid Quay."

"How do you know that?" Tsubasa asked, as Owen breaks the little finger on his bandaged hand.

"Owen, stop it! What are you doing?" Tosh asked.

Owen runs out, down to Mermaid Quay and leaps into the water.

Mermaid Quay - memory…

"I knew it." Jared said, watching Owen hauling himself out of the water. "So I called Tsubasa and Yukine to come."

"Thirty six minutes. Not bad." Jack said, happily.

"The both of you were watching?" Owen asked.

"Yup, we were." Jared said, laughing a lot. "A skinny guy like you wearing skinny jeans, running into the water. That's hilarious, no one suspected you were a medical doctor."

"He's right, and we were taking pictures. How long's this going to go on for, Owen?" Jack asked.

Conference room - memory…

"Ianto, what have you found out about Parker?" Gwen asked.

"I've identified some of the things he's purchased over the past year. We've got a Dogon eye, a pair of Myakian wings, some meteorites. An Arcateenian translation of James Herbert's The Fog. But there are a few things we've never seen before." Ianto said.

"That's...wow. One of those is causing energy spikes?" Hibiki asked, listening to music off of her phone.

"Looks like it. And they're getting bigger. Dangerously bigger."

"Right, okay, we need to get in there. Parker employs a Mister Philip Farrington to run security. There's at least six guards, CCTV everywhere, all of which we can bring down by taking out the generator. But then there's these. Heat sensors." Gwen said.

"Are we talking about body heat?" Mami asked.

"Yeah, the sensors are everywhere." Jared said, leaning against the wall. "They're solar powered. Which is bullshit. One of the heat sensors on every doorway and window."

"So, how do we get past them?" Hibiki asked.

"Sounds like you need a dead man. Someone with no body heat. What have you got to lose?" Owen asked, while Jack gestures.

Ianto gives Owen his gun back. Tosh enters.

"Tosh." Owen said, looking at Tosh.

Tosh gives Owen his keys, "I turned your telly off."

Mami's home…

Mami took out her gun and aimed it at Jared, "Who are you?"

"I know that you're not him." Homura said, taking off her glasses and unbraiding her hair. "So tell us who you are."

"Okay, you got me." Talos said, taking off his disguise. "I'm a Skrull."

"What's a Skrull doing here?"

"Jared asked me to come. See. He's safe and sound with Team RNJR."

"Team RNJR?" Sayaka asked.

"So, he's back at Remnant. He must be still be traveling with them." Kyoko said, a Pocky in her mouth. "This is just great. We have a Skrull with us."

Outside Parker's home - memory…

"If you hurt yourself, you will not recover. It's like I said, any bruises you get, they're not going to heal. Do not engage in physical combat. One punch, you're gone. Be careful." Martha said.

"I understand. I'm made of glass." Owen said.

"Owen. Just take care."

"Oh, and you'll need this." Jack said, as he threw Owen something made of white cloth.

Back gate - memory…

Near the swimming pool, two guards on patrol.

"Owen?" Tosh asked, over the Bluetooth earpiece.

"Yeah. Hi, Tosh." Owen said.

"Okay, the power in the house is supplied from one private electrical generator. There's a backup unit but take the main one down and you've got one minute twenty of blackout time."

"You can only get rid of one of the blokes, yeah?"

Hub - memory…

"I think we shouldn't do two phone calls." Hibiki said, sadly. "It might be a bit suspicious."

Back gate - memory…

"Try and make it the big one, okay?" Owen asked, and the phone call isn't a big one. "Arse."

"Hello?" Taylor asked.

Hub / Back gate - memory...

"Mister Taylor?" Gwen asked.

"Yeah, that's right. Who's this?" Taylor asked.

"I'm calling from Saint Helen's Hospital. Mrs Christine Taylor was brought in an hour ago. She's been involved in a car accident."

Back gate - memory…

"Is she hurt?" Taylor asked.

"She's going to be fine but she's asking to see you." Gwen said, her voice over the phone.

"Of course. I'm on my way."

"You all right?" Webb asked.

"It's Chrissie, she's been in an accident. Look, I've got to go." Taylor said.

"Yeah, of course." Webb said, as Taylor leaves.

Webb reports in, "Mister Farrington. Ben's had to go. His wife's been in an accident."

Back garden - memory…

Owen gets through the gate and goes past the Victorian glass houses, "Okay, guys, I'm here."

He opens the generator door.

"Move away from there. I said…" Webb said.

Owen knocks Webb down. The white cloth turns out to be a Tintin t-shirt. And inside the t-shirt is the 1 N-Strike Elite Strongarm Blaster Nerf Gun..

"Yeah, okay, guys. Very funny." Owen said, as Webb starts to get up. "A Tintin shirt and a Nerf gun. Two useless things."

Owen points his gun at him, "No, no, no, no, no. Do you want to see what I can do?"

"What?" Webb asked.

Owen wraps his hand in the t-shirt and grabs the generator power cables without getting electrocuted, "I'm dead already, mate."

"Webb, Dave, are you there?" Farrington asked, over the walkie talkie.

Owen kicks Webb unconscious.

"Oh!" Webb said.

"One minute twenty until the backup generator comes online." Tosh said, over the Bluetooth earpiece.

"Farrington to all units. The backup generator will be running in forty five seconds. Stay at your posts, please. Mister Parker's personal generator is unaffected." Farrington said, over the intercom.

"Sorry, Owen. They've obviously had some work done."

Parker's home - memory…

"Heat sensors." Owen said, waving his hand in front of them. "I am literally too cool for school. Right, I'm in."

"Okay, the energy reading seems to be coming from the first floor. A room at the back of the house." Tosh said, over the Bluetooth earpiece.

"Can you give me anything else?"

"No, the energy source is playing havoc with the system. Sorry."

"No worries. I'm getting used to being in the dark."

The power comes back on as Owen climbs the stairs. A man with a gun is on the first floor landing.

"Hold it there." Farrington said.

"Evening. Nice place you've got here. Love what you've done with the pictures." Owen said.

"Who are you? Why aren't the sensors picking you up? Okay, stop. Stop or I'll shoot."

"No, you won't. You're a security guard. That gun's just for show, innit? Do you know what a bullet does to a living person? It's not like a knife through butter. No, no, no. It rotates, tears into the flesh and the gooey stuff behind. Rips into the organs, and, oof, it's not nice. But anyway, I haven't got any body heat. You must know what that means. You can't kill a dead man." Owen said, taking the bullet out of himself.

"What are you?" Farrington asked.

"I'm wrong."

"What are you!"

"I'm broken. I'm Doctor Owen Harper." Owen said, taking the gun. "And I'm having one hell of a day."

He smashes the butt into Farrington's face, knocking him out.

Parker's room - memory…

Owen takes a look at the artefacts on display in the outer room then goes through to where a half-tester bed is surrounded by medical equipment. A wizened old man lies beneath the net canopy.

"Yes?" Parker asked.

"It's okay, mate. I'm not going to hurt you. I'm a doctor." Owen said.

"You're a very violent doctor. I've been watching you."

"Henry Parker, yeah?"

"You're Torchwood, yes?" Parker asked, as Jack, Martha, and Jared are listening in outside, Gwen, Tosh, Mami, and Hibiki at the Hub. "Did the Americans send you?"

"Yeah, they sent me. How do you know so much about us?"

"They could've sent that Japanese girl. Not the one with the pendant or one with the ribbon hair. The techy one. I liked her."

"Yeah, well, I'm sorry you got me."

"Is she on your phone thing? The earpiece?" Parker asked.

"Yeah." Owen said.

"Hello! Just to say that you've got very lovely legs. You should show them off more."

"What's wrong with you?"

"Three heart attacks and a failed bypass. But I'm fine because I have this." Parker said, bringing out a glowing purple shell-shaped thing from beneath his sheets. "It's called the Pulse."

"You know what it is?" Owen asked.

"I named it. It's keeping me alive. No, you're not taking it."

"It could be dangerous, we've been detecting massive energy readings."

"I don't care. All I know is it works."

Owen scans the Pulse, "Well, I'm sorry, it doesn't."

"What?" Parker asked.

"The energy isn't going into you. The power's just building up inside that thing. That's what we've been detecting. But it isn't actually doing anything for you."

"You're wrong. I can feel it. No, no. I'm not going to die."

"Listen, please. Listen to me. There are loads of peoples' lives at risk. If that explodes then we don't know what the fall out will be."

"You're young. You don't understand what dying feels like."

"Believe me, I do. I really do."

"There's nothing there."

"Where?" Owen asked.

"On the other side, nothing. I'm dying. Take away my Pulse and I'm gone. My body decomposing." Parker said.

"You can't stop it, Mister Parker. I'm sorry, but it's going to happen one day."

"It'll be dark and I'll be alone."

"Where are you now? It's dark and you're all alone, so what's the difference?"

"I don't understand what's keeping me here." Parker said, coughing, and Owen gives him his oxygen mask.

"Deep breath, deep breath. It's hope. That thing, it's just hope. Do you really think all this is better than death?" Owen asked.

"It's got to be. It is better."

"You're just scared of the darkness. Join the club. Trust me, I know how shit everything can be."

"Don't you sit there pontificating. You're just a boy, what do you know about anything? I've travelled the world. I fought in the war. Started my own business. I made a fortune. Married. Widowed. My collection, all of it. I've done so much and this is where I ended up. Alone, lying in my own piss. And do you know what I want?"

"Clean sheets?"

"I want a steak. Medium rare. Black pepper sauce. Look at me. Fed through a tube. I might as well be dead already. I might as well be dead. Why don't you take it? Take it." Parker said, handing the Pulse over to Owen.

"Well?" Owen asked.

"Oh Christ, it's dark. I'm alone, I'm so alone."

Owen takes his hand, "It's all right. I'm here with you."

"I'm still stuck here, though. In this bed, in the dark." Parker said.

"You know what? I'm going to come back. You and me, we're going to face all of this together. I'm going to help you." Owen said.

"Torchwood, if you come back, you can tell me all about it. Tell me what it's like. I want to hear about the aliens and everything. I need to know that there's more out there. That this isn't all there is. Oh come on, I'm dying, who am I going to tell, the Angel Gabriel? If you come back, I won't tell the techy Japanese girl that you're still holding my hand."

"Well, maybe." Owen said, as Parker coughs and gurgles.

Owen returns the oxygen mask, "Take a deep breath. Mister Parker?"

Parker has gone.

"Henry?" Owen asked, trying to do CPR, but realises he has no breath to share with his patient. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry!"

Mami's home…

"So, this whole time, our Jared, the one we know and love have been off with his friends from Remnant." Mami said, sipping her cup of tea. "Why didn't you tell us that? Right after Owen couldn't save that old man. Because he died of a heart attack."

Parker's room / Hub / Outside Parker's home - memory…

"He, he died." Hibiki said. "Couldn't we save him?"

"It's too late." Jared said, frowning. "I'm sorry."

"Even so. We could have tried something."

"It's like it could be helped."

"Yeah." Mami said, sadly. "A loss is a loss."

"It's okay. I'm going to hold it." Owen said.

"Owen, what are you doing?" Jack asked.

"See if I can absorb it."

"Owen, the energy reading's off the scale. You won't survive." Tosh said.

"Yeah, well, it's okay. These things happen." Owen said.

"There must be something we can do." Hibiki said, a bit hopeful.

"Martha, Martha."

"Owen?" Martha asked.

"If it destroys me, they're going to need a new doctor. You've got all the credentials. Medical skills and a cracking arse. Jack? If you even attempt to bring me back again. Gwen, Ianto, Jared, it was fun. Mostly. Thank you. Tosh. Tosh, come on, answer me."

"Owen." Tosh said.

"I'm sorry." Owen said.

"I love you."

Energy streams gently from the Pulse.

Mami's home…

"I hope you're telling the truth." Mami said, taking out her phone.

She dialed Jared's number, and she got a response back, with the blonde putting her phone on speaker mode.

"Mami?" Jared asked, his voice over the phone.

"We've got a Skrull here." Kyoko said, annoyed. "Where the hell are you?"

"Oh, I've been traveling with Ruby, Jaune, Ren, and Nora. Wait, Skrull?"

"Yeah. Talos." Madoka said.

"Who's Talos?"

"Don't tell us this is the you after Prisoner Zero." Sayaka said.

Roald Dahl Plass - memory…

"Well, I'm sorry, Doctor Jones, Jared, Mami, and Hibiki. No vacancies in Cardiff just yet." Owen said.

"That's okay. I reckon you're...I was going to say fine, but you're a hell of a lot more than that." Martha said.

"Thank you. For everything." Owen said, giving Martha a big hug.

"Oi." Jack said, angrily.

"It's what I'm here for." Martha said.

"So, are we gonna go home or what?" Hibiki asked.

"We are." Mami said.

"Yeah." Jared said. "We are. Torchwood, it was nice to meet you."

They all say farewells.

"You lot, take care." Gwen said.

"Thank you. Well, it's been interesting." Martha said.

"Really interesting." Mami said.

"Oh, it's been fun. You know it has." Jack said.

Martha kisses Jack, "Well, everyone else has had a go."

"You lot can so come back any time."

"Well, maybe I will. One day." Martha said. "I don't know about those three."

(Jared's POV)

Inn…

"Um, you've been with us, for a while." Ruby said, looking at me.

"I know. I just can't leave you guys." I said, placing my hand on top of Ruby's. "Not yet."

"You chose us, over the Earth." Jaune said.

"I did. Got a problem with that?"

"What about the Holy Quintet and Symphogear?" Nora asked. "Are you going back to them?"

"I don't know, to be honest. I know if I leave you guys, I'm gonna be heartbroken. A day, well, two days is enough for me."

"You sure?" Ren asked.

"Positive. The Earth has more than enough defenders. Torchwood and Sarah Jane included." I said, laughing a lot.

"What if, um, they need you?" Ruby asked.

"They don't need me. To be honest, I love you guys. You're like family to me."

"The five of us." Jaune said. "Going to Haven."

"Yup."

"But I need an upgrade at some point."

Jaune looked down at his sword and shield. And the materials Pyrrha had.

"You do." I said, standing up from where I was sitting. "Come on team."
