It hurts. The sun hurts. That was the only thing going through Shi's mind as she watched her hand turn to ash, her elder brother has only been a hashira for a few weeks now and she had been left here since he was sent on a mission with the butterfly- insect lady, whom really pissed Shi's older brother off.
She pulled her hand back into the shadows of the porch which she sat upon, surprisingly none of the workers cared that she was a demon and treated her very well, as if she was a hashira herself. Shi watched as her hand grew back in the blink of an eye and hummed, surprisingly her brother always brought demons back with him when she couldn't come with so she wouldn't strave.
Shi loved her older brother more than anything.
"Lady Tomioka?" a voice called, one of the workers, Shi hadn't memorised what they were called yet but she would soon enough. "Someones here looking for you."
No one was supposed to know of her existence..
"Tell them that there is no Tomioka in the building, my brother is away and so am I." She stuck her hand out into the sun again, watching it crumble away, then she pulled it back into the shade.
How much longer until the burning stops hurting?
"As you wish my lady."

Walking through the forest with no one at her side, her kimono dragging along the ground and her hair out, flowing behind her. This was not what anyone would expect to come home to. Shinobu looked at the female version of Giyuu Tomioka which she had left a few meters behind her as she zipped through the trees.
The woman didn't stop or slow do to look at Shinobu instead, she walked towards the frozen Giyuu and they started to talk.
"Ani, welcome home, how was the mission?"
"It went well, would you like to go out to eat tonight?"
Shinobu blinked and turned to look away, it was only Tomioka's sister, a woman she had never seen or heard of before but for some reason it felt like a lot more.
