She waited for him to pull himself together and come to her. Time passed. It was now 8:30 PM. When he finished with all his work.

“I didn’t mean to put what we needed to talk about aside, but now that it is over can i send you home and you can yell at me and curse at me as much as you want.” He put away the documents and walked over to her and said to her then offer to send her back and tell what she could do if she wished to.

”I have no intention in cursing you but to ask you what was it like living with my daughter because as her mother she takes after me but she also takes after her father whom is just being completely silent and make it seems it’s the other person who is doing what he is doing so tell me, when you first noticed my daughter began to act distance and cold towards you.” She said to him making him a little confused as she continued to speak she was making sense to him but what shocked him was when she asked about Tiania changes to a cold person and silently distant with him.

“In the beginning. It was the first time I had breakfast with her. I had half cooked eggs on my plate while her’s looked like they were carefully dealt with. I asked who made it and she lied to me. I got up and left knowing Claire would tell her what I'm like and she did tell her. The next day she made breakfast but she didn’t eat with me. When I work late she waits up but she would never give me a chance to explain why I was late. After that it was always what she put aside, what clothes for me to wear and I would wear it because I wanted her to see that I wanted to speak with her, but she would never talk to me. When I tried to approach her she just got up and walked away. That’s how it has been since. Two weeks ago i came home and after having drinks with my team after they had asked me to join them for dinner, i went home before dinner was over i didn’t want to have her wait for me. When I got home she was going up the tears. I had never felt that good since the day of our wedding. I was so happy I forgot I was removing my coat and shoes when I went after her and fell. She came to me and she took so good care of me thinking I was drunk. I could hug her. She touched me. She smiled at me before smacking me for getting drunk. It was the first time after our wedding she kissed me. I felt like I needed to drink more and come home and put on an act to get her to look at me the way she did when we got married but I took it too far it seems and that is when she ripped me apart. It was second to none. I cried like I did. The first was when my mother died. I knew there was nothing I could do to bring her back. Everything suddenly felt like I woke up from a happy dream. It was the second time I felt like everything and everyone will leave when it or they’re ready. Not caring what would happen to me when they’re gone.”

He smiles but then it fades as he begins to tell her how it started. She could tell from the way he describes the egg as half cooked eggs that he liked his eggs properly cooked. Even so she stayed calm and listened to him as she knows her daughter very well and that is something she would do but she wanted to be sure. After hearing him out she decided not to say anything that would lessen his hopes of getting his wife back so she nodded in agreement but as she was getting off the elevator that had stopped but because she stayed silent, he pressed the lobby button and down they went.

“When you said two weeks ago, you mean like the two years anniversary of marriage two weeks ago? When did you start having sexual intercrouse with your wife, who is my daughter?” She questioned what he said because she was not sure of what he was saying to be true but she could not help from remembering that part of what he was explaining to her.

“Yes, ma’am. Is there something wrong? Did I say something I should have not said? I have no intentions of doing so, it’s just that you asked me to tell you and I thought you wanted to hear everything.” He responded to her then asked her, because it seems she’s not only shocked but upset as well. So he explained why he had said everything including that part which he now regrets saying.

“You did nothing wrong. It’s just that I'm surprised. It took the both of you this long while I was home waiting for grandchildren, I had no idea. But you’re a good husband so I understand.” She assured him that he did nothing wrong.

Even thought something was very wrong he was not at fault but her daughter whom had ignored the needs of her husband but she compliment him because as a man with needs and in a marriage for two years would have cheated or ensure the family is aware that their daughter is not fulfilling her duty as a wife instead he lay back and waited.

“I appreciate you sending me home.” She said to him but he just smiled at her.

“It’s what I should do. I should have someone take you home but you insist that we speak and that you will wait. I also must apologize for having you eating in the office, I should have had you gone for dinner at a restaurant. I would have felt a bit pleased since she never goes out. I will definitely do better, that is if she decides to come back to me.” He speaks politely and then apologizes to her. He spoke of his wife not going out and it sounded like it was a dying wish of his but he quickly said he would do better in a determined tone of voice.

He drove her home and she bid him goodbye and went inside after a small talk. After entering her house they were all silent and had all eyes on her. She put her coat away and stood looking at them each before she laid eyes completely on Tiania.

“I am going ask you one question Nia, and I want you to think very hard before you look me, your mother in the eyes, and tell me the truth. Do you understand?” She finally spoke and called Nia’s name to ensure that they knew that she was speaking to Nia and Nia only. They stood from the table.

“Yes, ma’am.” When Nia responded to her mother her brother felt something was wrong and they might have to protect her, he grabbed his father’s wrist stopping him from walking away.

“Your wedding anniversary of two years ago was two weeks ago, Right? Nia when did you lose your virginity to your husband?” Her mother asked and the look on Nia’s face when her mother’s question came forth told her father and brother that at the age she is. Natherine will beat her and she will not stop until she’s pleased and that her brother knows well as he was a victim.

“Two weeks a-” She didn’t finish when her mother went to her. It seems her father and brother were too shocked to hear it as well, she was already undergoing slaps. When they came back from the shock and began to part with them. Her mother was yelling at her in anger that she did realize that she had been parted from her daughter.

“You’re an ungrateful daughter. I raised you better. I taught you how to care for him. How to love him. But not just him but any man you were too married to. I’m so disappointed to know you kept your virginity from your husband and lost to him without him knowing.”

Shocked and confused to what just entered his ears the flower pot made by glass dropped and shattered. Candy of Nia’s favorite went falling. Henrick couldn’t even speak. But his running tears were all that needed to show to her mother that he’s even more hurt now by not knowing yet he handled her the way he did. Tiania cover her mouth with her hands. In his eyes at the moment she didn’t want him to ever know.

“Henri-”

He stepped back and left

“I hope you are happy. I wonder if you have not had enough, after all that man ever did was love you?” Her mother said to her. Glaring at her. She asked before walking past her.
