Chapter 28 : Let's play princess in distress.

( ( TYLER'S POV ) )

The good news was Sydney didn't seem to be moving a lot but then again, was that really a good thing, " Is she hurt or hungry or panicking "? [ What if it's all? ] and moved faster, " My first human can't die like that ]

( SYDNEY'S POV )

I stood still as if expecting my echo to talk back to me. I laughed nervously to myself as I placed my hand on the cold smooth wall, " If I can survive a virus outbreak, my own shadow can't scare me ".

[ This works in movies, right? ] and traced my hand along the wall, " I'm bound to find the way out or at least another human being ". I'd been walking for about five minutes when the hopelessness and laziness started to creep in again.

I began talking out loud to myself and frowned, " Mom was always complaining about it. Is it bad that I like the sound of my own voice "? I groaned to myself, " You're still doing it. Shut up Sydney ".

I stopped and sighed [ Maybe that wasn't a good idea ] and leaned against the wall, sliding to the floor and rubbed my chin, " I guess I could play princess in distress for a little bit ".

[ The system did promise me a new skill earlier. Better check it out ] The familiar pink hologram appeared in front of me and I saw a present on the screen with a pretty pink bow, " How do I unwrap a hologram "?

The thing suddenly unwrapped itself and I nodded satisfactorily, " So I just have to think about it ". A musical note jumped out of the box while the box itself disappeared while I read the fine print.

The first thing I felt was relief as the hologram disappeared, " So I'm not going to embarrass myself...but I can't write music ". I was about to feel hopeless again when I had an idea.

" Since Bashful knows I...I mean Snow White can sing, that means she should have a few sheet music lying around in her room somewhere ". I sighed as I looked up at the ceiling, " I have no way of finding it ". I turned my head to the side and squinted my eyes [ That's strange, I thought someone called out to me ]

I shook my head, " Nah " and jumped back to my feed and began tracing my fingers over the cobblestone again, " Let's try this again. Being a princess in distress is boring ".

( ( TYLER'S POV ) )

This map took a while to understand but I think I finally got a hang of it. I ran towards the red dot and honestly, it seemed farther than I expected [ Did I wonder off that off or was it her? ]

Thinking it over, I nodded " Probably both of us " and she kept moving. The only thing that made this easier was the fact that she was going in a straight line and not just running around like a headless chicken.

The hard part was the fact that she was still moving, meaning the distance between us was slowly increasing. I groaned in frustration as I ran faster [ She's on the move again ] " Sydney "!

Something about this wasn't feeling right and the lack of other red dots in the direction she was heading was not encouraging. I clenched my fist and increased my speed again as I yelled again, " Sydney Tucker "!
