Chapter 26 : Sarcastic smiles and Enchanting voices.

[ What did I do? ] Am I so smart, I don't even realize it. I nodded slightly at the thought [ Yes I am ] Remembering what led to my sudden boost of confidence, I snapped out of it and looked at Bashful, " So what did you do "?

Bashful fiddled with his fingers again and it was obviously making him uncomfortable as he kept opening his mouth to speak and stopping. I sighed, continuing my massage " It's alright. You don't have to answer me ".

He smiled thankfully and I continued my massage [ I'll just ask another dwarf, I mean prince ] and leaned in closer to his ear, " So, what did you want to tell me "? He sighed as he looked at me.

" I need your help with something ", I nodded with a smile [ Yes! Yes!! Tell me!!! ] He shook his head and sighed, " It sounds silly, maybe I shouldn't bother ". I felt my vein bulge in anger as I gripped his shoulder firmly, " Spit it out already "!

So maybe I lost my temper, but only a little. Bashful was already tearing up and it was as cute as it was heartbreaking [ I'm a monster ] I stammered cos I felt bad, so not cos he looked so freaking HOT!

[ Stay focused Sydney ] I held his face gently in my hands and made him look at me, " I'm sorry, I didn't mean it " [ This is so embarrassing ] and took a deep breath and blew at his eyes slowly, " I shouldn't have lost my temper. You're just being you and that's well....Bashful. I should have been more patient ".

He blinked in a daze as he looked at me and I pouted slightly, " What's that look for "? He smiled brightly as he looked up at me [ My brain can't take much more of this cuteness ] " I like the new Snow ".

I raised an eyebrow slightly, " What's that supposed to mean "? He held my hand which was still on his cheek and smiled, " I feel like I actually like being around you now and I'm not just tolerating you anymore ".

I felt my vein bulge again as I spoke loudly [ But not too loudly ] " What do you mean tolerable? And how can you say that with a smile " [ Such a sharp tongue ] He laughed while I stomped my feet angrily, " Do I look like I'm joking "?

I ended up putting him in an arm lock and nearly choked him. Letting go, I sat next to him " You're so lucky you're cute ". Bashful laughed slightly, turning to face me " I could say the same for you fairest of them all ".

I smirked slightly [ Is that sarcasm I hear? ] and clenched my fists, " I repeat, you're so lucky you're pretty ". Bashful laughed one more time and suddenly became serious, " It's still pretty silly but I hope you can help me become a musician ".

I honestly didn't expect him to say that but my mission progress is now 20%. I clenched my fists even tighter as I tried to control my excitement. Bashful scratched his head lightly, " I know it's not a very noble choice, I must sound silly ".

I smiled slightly, patting his lap " Nonsense, one of my friends is a musician and that's amazing. You can play for us at all those fancy parties we have to do and I'm sure I'd get a discount ". He blinked a few times, " You really mean it "?

I nodded and stood up, " Of course. And you should really start preparing. Do you have any particular idea of what you want "? He scratched his head lightly, " It's vague. That's why I asked for your help ".

[ Hold up ] I'm confused and it must have shown on my face as I pointed at myself, " What does it have to do with me "? Bashful frowned slightly, " You literally have an enchanting voice ". I went stiff slightly as I panicked in my head [ She did sing with animals at one point ]

I know it seems like nothing to panic about but I'm really tone deaf [ Hard to believe actually ] I know it doesn't seem obvious and I do sing the songs but never was I good at it

I ended up leaning on his shoulder as I groaned, " Let's stay like this for a while " [ And things were just looking up ]
