The Smiling Persons Organization's chief frowned as she watched her computer screen. Her black hair had a few grey streaks from the sudden stress a few months ago when the lockdown started.
They had different departments that provided new and fun ways to stay entertained during this period. There was a very serious problem, the first red flag.
They'd done everything, games, shows, books, comics, online dating, online jobs, you think it...we've tried it but no matter what we do, she always goes back to a somewhat depressed state.
This however was the last straw and now it was time for the last resort. Chief Sandra couldn't tolerate any sort of mistakes, one error would lead to another and she couldn't have that.
Happy people mean calm people and that means stable government which means her Organization remains functional and necessary.
She made a call with the land line, tapping on the red zero key she smiled to herself as she played with the springy connection line " I have to put a smile on your face Sydney Tucker, whether you want it or not ".
Not too long after a somewhat old couple walked in. Though the man wasn't short, he wasn't tall and the woman next to him was at his shoulder.
Sandra had a bright smile on her face as she welcomed them in, "I hope my two master inventors have something for us "? The man sighed as he took a seat without her permission " Depends, what do you want "?
Sandra suddenly turned serious, turning her computer to them and pointing at a sad emoji face that represented Sydney " We have our first unlucky customer guys, we've tried everything but nothing works ".
The lady smiled softly as she put her hands on her husband's shoulders " She just turned eighteen Sandra and she's all alone, she must be scared to death . I'd be pretty scared as well if I were here, just give her time ".
Sandra rubbed her temples, looking down at her polished desk " We don't have time, just do something, anything I'm begging you. I'm already getting stress hives ".
The man sighed " Just hand me her case file, I'll deal with it ". Sandra smiled again as she suddenly dumped a bunch of files on the desk, though there weren't many, they weren't few either and different colored sticky notes coming out of it.
The older man raised an eyebrow at the sudden pile
and realized that he'd just been tricked by his daughter " I won't fall for that next time but a deal's a deal so I'll take care of this ".
Chief Sandra beamed then quickly shooed them out of her office. They could only sigh as they picked the files and left. The older lady however smiled back at her " Don't worry too much Sandra. I'm sure she'll come around " Sandra smiled back and nodded, murmuring under her breath " She better be ".

Paul and Sarah didn't really know what to do with this problem given to them. They'd being trying to find the source of her sadness for a while but nothing was making sense.
She wasn't even necessarily sad, just gotten angry about something. Well, she was a teenager and having mood swings was normal but at the rate she was having them, it was easy to get under someone like Sandra's skin.
Sarah collected the latest file from the stark and smiled " Look at this Paul, she's got an interest in Disney's princesses ". Paul then picked the next one and pointed at a line " Its the reason for her recent mood swings and its even her birthday ".
Sarah furrowed her brows " Everyone loves the stories. Why wouldn't she "? Paul smiled as he picked the most recent files " This won't be our problem anymore and I can't even understand it ".
So they took the elevator all the way to the imagination department, these people had mostly lost their touch on reality but they'd proven useful in maintaining happiness; authors, directors, actors and screen writers were the type of people here.
But the man that was surrounded by thrown away paper balls was who they were looking for. The man had glasses and a black hair that resembled bed hair. He'd also not shaved and had a small beard.
He didn't look back at them as he spoke " Whatever you want, I can't help. I've got my own problems ". Sarah laughed picking up a piece of paper and unwrapping it " What's wrong this time Sal "?
The man let out an exaggerated sigh and collapsed on the table " Writer's block and just when I was getting somewhere. Its right at the tip of my tongue. And we have a new episode to release tomorrow ".
Paul rolled his eyes and kicked his chair " Sandra's given us our first red flag and we don't understand a shit about the reason for her mood swings. Fix it ". Sal laughed, rubbing his temples " Get your ass out of here, I have work to do ".
Sarah stood between the two and spoke softly " We know your busy Sal but we really need your help on this ". Sal sighed and adjusted his glasses " Tess was working on some new gizmo, she might be able to help ".
